BIG POST AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!! Double posting because it's one HELL of an update happy.gif

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g02vd83yqU

Sooooooooooooo this is a brand new trailer. And it is awesome! Some things to notice:

- Marth!!! Something I've been saying but I'll keep saying, something about Marth incites a spark in Krom, because Krom basically goes "who the hell are you"...
- Krom is fighting Jafar (lol thats actually not his name), and you can see it through My Unit's hood
- Emelina (she's Krom's oldest sister, and the Queen of their kingdom, Iris) is going "Krom, I'm sorry I misused my power"...
- A really sinister looking dragon
- A random statue (my guess is that it might be Narga) burning
- This game looks *very* dark and doesn't take a split second to put you into the action.
- There's almost as much CG going on in this one trailer than all of FE9 combined

Some things that have been confirmed, 100% in terms of plot:

- That masked man calls himself Marth, and wields the Falchion
- Narga exists in this world
- The dark dragon's name is Gimle (and not Medeus)
- Krom leads a vigilante force against Perezia, which is a theocracy dedicated to worshipping the dark dragons (ie, Gimle)
- There is a nation to the north called Feria, and it's militant. Think of Daein (under Ashnard's rule) and Ilia together, and this is what you have. It's ruled by two people.
- Krom is the Prince of the nation/holy kingdom of Iris, which worships Narga. The continent is known as Iris. Here's what it looks like:

For reference, this is Archanea:

And this is Barensia (FE2, which is in the same world as Archanea, but a different continent; takes place at the same time as FE1/3/11/12 too):

VERY INTERESTING....

Now, we move onto gameplay... here's a couple videos...

There was originally this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbZ9woy06y8

Which showcased the basics, basically critical animations/etc, and the music was great. Now, we have a couple others: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QIR9zOJVak

You get a feel for some of the music here, and you can visually see some of the stuff going on in terms of gameplay in this video.

The rest are in this link:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/afej/movie/index.html
The third movie you see is interesting, because it has a scene of Marth and Krom fighting.

Then, there is this page, filled with parts of a chapter battle:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/afej/system/index.html

You can kinda see how the second screen is being used here, on top of getting a feel for the way the game will handle. You can see that the dual attack feature also has a support aspect to it, meaning that the other person will be in the battle but they only seem to add support bonuses. This is actually confirmed to be true, by the way, and there's a new rescue system that does this instead of cutting your Spd/Skl like previous games... which could break the game in two if they're not careful.

If you click the right button, you see this:

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/afej/system/battle2.html

Which is some more battle links. Pretty interesting. The animations look nice and fluid, sorta like FE10's. I really like it. Also: Liz gains 25 EXP for healing... normally healers got 11, 12 for Mend, and in FE11 it was at most 17, so this is quite a shock. And you'll also notice: Fire Emblem Theme is a map theme!! It's pretty cool, and it works.

Then we have this:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/afej/system/training2.html

A couple things can be absorbed from this, if you translate from moonspeak.

- Skills are awarded through level ups (like FE2 or Tear Ring Saga)
- Skills can be taken off and given to other units, like FE10
- There are two types of class change items; Master Seals and Change Seals. One of them promote a unit to their promoted class (which is branched, by the way! I presume the branches are the same as previous games; so an Archer can promote to Sniper or Ranger/Bow Knight), and the other one can change them to a couple classes. The classes seem limited in number, so for instance you cant change a Myrmidon to a horse class or something like that. It may have a per character limit; we'll see.
- There's a video of promotions and a skill activating. Seems like Fighter has the ability to promote to Hero; which is awesome, Hero is my favorite FE class.

Now, I'm going to get into classes...
- I already mentioned the thing about branched promotions and class changes...
- There is a class called "Taguel"... which is race of people who can change into bunnies. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/afej/characters/chara18.html is a link to the character; they're not unlike Laguz, but they also share a trait with the Manaketes of previous games (in that she has a beast stone, which for you FE8 Ambassador players it's basically Myrrh's Dragonstone and for Shadow Dragon players, its Tiki/Nagi's Dragonstone too)
- http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/afej/characters/index.html has a list of characters and their base classes... you notice that the guy who seems to be the "mounted unit who starts out strong" (Jagen) character is a Great Knight and not a Paladin. You also notice that the Green/Red Cavalier duo has a female in it, whereas it's ALWAYS been two males throughout the previous games.
- Every promoted class has a certain skill, and caps don't stop at 30. A Dark Pegasus I saw had 32 spd before being demoted to General.
- Mages have hats, FF-style

A bunch of classes are here: http://serenesforest.net/fe13/class.html. Seem to be a bunch of weird classes, like Battle Monk and Strategist... and Battle Cleric. And looking at some scan I saw a couple hours ago, there's also a Griffin Rider class... Anyways, here are some notable weird classes:

- BATTLE CLERIC, which uses Staffs and... Axes
- Dark Pegasus, which is offensive magic and Spears. Yes, they fly
- Trickster, I have no clue what the hell they do
- Strategist, which is offensive magic and swords

Couple random things
- Krom comes with leaf's treasured sword and a Rapier, and an infinite use Falchion. Leaf is FE5's Lord, Rapier is a standard for most FE lords, and Falchion is infinite uses and good against Dragons... o.o
- Weapons dont have a weight stat, so there's no AS loss from wielding better/heavier weapons. Good riddance, though I liked the Strength system.
- DLC seems to involve characters from previous games using an otherworldly gate (which is how Marth enters the world supposedly; it helps it's the exact place in Archanea where THAT dragon's gate is located)... as far as I've seen, we have Ayra (FE4) and INNES from Sacred Stones, for all you ambassador people
- BOLDED FOR EMPHASIS, but for you ambassador people; this will be structured like FE8 (Sacred Stones), but with much more liberty. There is a world map filled with battles outside of the main game for you to do; you can pick and choose whether or not you wish to enter battle, by the way, as opposed to being forced into an encounter like in FE8. I hope they make much better use of it than the overly linear system in FE8, myself, but I liked FE8 regardless. You can still shop on the map, do some wifi stuff, and hell you can even meet up with merchants to buy rare stuff.

Anyways, pictures to keep everything aesthetically pleasing:

Spoiler (click to showhide)

You can see the Griffin Rider in the corner. You can see assassinate in the corner too, if you watched the earlier vid then you can see blood coming from the dude who just got mauled.

MILES EDGEWORTH??? He looks like he's going to be a competent archer, too...

Thoughts? Comments? Speculations?

AND BEFORE ANYONE ASKS

YES, MARTH IS GOING TO BE IN THIS GAME!!!!

Roy might be as well, depending on how the DLC works out.

There is *a lot* more to come. I can't wait. It'll be released in Europe in 2012, hopefully the same for the Americas, and it's released April 19th in Japan.

And a Golurk

I don't know how I missed that first trailer... >_>. Another thing I noticed: voice acting during game scenes. I don't think voice acting was that common in the GC/Wii games (only in the CG cutscenes).

Doubles battles were full of awesome, what with that general protecting your other unit from damage. I wonder if enemy units have the same capability? Would make for an interesting boss fight.

Anywho, I like all the references to other Fire Emblem games. Is this the series' anniversary or something?

I am cautiously optimistic for DLC characters. It's great and all, but this is also the first 3DS game (possibly Nintendo game) to charge for DLC. I don't want to pay $5/character. I'm hoping for bundles with character sets and maps for one low price. That being said, I'd pay $10 for a Hector-Eliwood-Lyn set grin.gif.

Customizable tactician? Who fights? Yes please grin.gif

Yay! A female unit on a horse that I will actually use! Screw you Isadora! And no, I didn't promote Amelia into a Cavalier. As for Innes and the continent similarities, no coincidence, in my opinion. It's nice that they're finally tying the series together. Though the series might have been better off apart DLC makes sense as well. A unit who's you? Best thing since FE 7's tactitcian! Of course, we missed out on FE 12's My Unit.

No Marth? I am sad. Of course, he could always come in later somehow, as the game seems to have an emphasis on time travel. Tiki's age suggests that they are still in Archanea and that other place, just that the geography, names, and countries have changed.

I subscribe to NP. Really, it's just them acknowledging the existence of a bunch of JRPGS and the possibility that they may come overseas.

owo Those weird/creepy things in the vid were the weirdest FE things I have seen since 8's Revenants and Demon King and 7's Nergal and Dragon. I suspect their existence somehow.

Also, why is FE8 considered "The Ambassador game?"

I'm not sure whether it's because I don't want to spoil anything for myself or if I'm just too lazy to read it all. xD

But anyway, I'm a huge fire emblem fan (My avatar here was Volke for a while) and I cannot WAIT for this to come out in the US. I don't think there's a release date yet, is there?

A 3DS fire emblem will be awesome. Sacred stones, Shadow dragon, radiant dawn are all some of my favorite games of all time.
