Every 6 months or so, my family goes on a vacation to a town in upstate New York called Lake Placid. Unfortunately, internet is nigh-unreachable there, so I need a few good recommendations for games that can be played: A) Offline, and B) on a PC with Steam or on a 3DS.
I currently own: Steam! (click to show ) 3DS! (click to show ) Any recommendations, under $20? I've got a couple suggestions.
If you want something action-ey, try to find a copy of the Mega Man Zero Collection. All 4 Mega Man Zero games, one solid run through all of them will probably take a couple hours but it's a series worth replaying if you enjoy it. I think it's around $30 last time I saw a copy, but you could probably snag a cheaper one that's used. If you want a lengthy, time-sink JRPG series, look for one of the Dragon Quest games. Most recent one I've played was Dragon Quest IV for the DS, and it was pretty solid. I wouldn't worry about trying to grab a specific number though, but the only ones I can say I've enjoyed are III for the GBC and IV for the DS, along with the GBC Dragon Warrior Monsters games. If you're going for one of the DS games, it'll probably run you around $20. As far as PC goes, the only game that's still enjoyable alone that comes to mind is The Binding of Isaac. I think it's currently $5-$10 on Steam. The majority of the game is based around random number generation though (random dungeons, random loot, random bosses, etc.) but if it's your kind of thing, it can be a bit addictive if you're willing to put up with the difficulty. There's also Super Meat Boy now that I think of it. --------------------
=- Game Dev, currently making a game called Cursed Seasons. I tweet about it sometimes. -= http://cursedseasons.tumblr.com/ Discord is a thing |

Thanks for your input, Letan! I've heard a lot about Binding of Isaac and I've seen some playthroughs, but it just doesn't look like my cup of tea. As for Super Meat Boy... Let's hope I won't turn into one Micheal Jones.
Dragon Quest is something that I have indeed been interested in! I've never gotten around to getting any of the games, so now may be a good time. MegaMan Zero is actually one of my favorite GBA games of all time, truth be told, but I've not played any of the sequels. I may grab a copy! -------------------- You might know everything I'm going to do, but that's not going to help you since I know everything you're going to do! STRANGE, ISN'T IT?
