PANE Party

Name: Lileas Faulkner
Age: 18
Hometown: Lenoilia

Appearance: Lileas is about average in terms of height, for her age, and has an overall lean build, both as a result of not getting much food beyond the necessities to live on for several years, and the fact that she has been forced to lead a fairly active lifestyle during that same time. Lileas' hair is naturally almost jet-black, and fairly long, reaching an inch or two past her shoulders. She usually wears is straight, though she will sometimes do it up into a pair of pigtails. Her skin is quite pale, a result of her growing up in the polluted environment of Lenoilia, and her eyes are a dark green. She wears a single earing, a simple silver hoop, in her right ear, and a silver chain around her neck as her only jewellery. Though she wears some makeup and cosmetics, it is not anything that stands out too much. While she rarely uses pure black, she tends to wear fairly dark colours of nail polish.

Her typical outfit consists of a sweater and jeans; usually a striped sweater, on the darker side colour-wise, and a pair of black jeans. She might opt for a lighter shirt it hot weather, which mainly follow the same trend in colour. She also wears a pair of black combat boots, and a set of fingerless black gloves. She is also rarely without her usual scarf, except where the weather is too warm to make it bearable. The scarf is a pale violet in colour, an Lileas can almost always be found wearing it.

Personality: Lileas isn't a very social person, for the most part. She doesn't have much trouble talking to people as long as there is a topic she knows anything about. She is not so good with small talk, though she can usually manage it for a short time. She is, however, a bit adverse to letting people get too close to her—a result of her childhood in Lenoilia, and something she has not been entirely able to shed.

She can be friendly, when she wants to be, but she tends to look out for herself first, and even puts the wellbeing of her pokemon, especially Vellin, above that of other people quite often. After all, he was the one who had been with her for years while she was otherwise alone, and had done much to help her out during those times. She would likely be the same way with human friends, if she was more willing to make them.

Lilieas often comes across as rather morbid, between the way she dresses, the pokemon she keeps as companions, and her general attitude. She has a fairly dark sense of humour, and has been known to make some jokes others would consider inappropriate, or make light of things that would offend others. She is no stranger to violence, or even death, and neither have quite as much of an effect on her as they might on others. She is also actually rather good at fighting—with her own hands, not just pokemon—and had a fair amount of experience in that back home.

Biography: Lileas was born, and lived most of her life in Lenoilia. Born only a few years after most residents left the city, her parents were among those who insisted on staying. It was just their greed that kept them there, as Lileas would later look back on it. They had managed to amass a fairly significant wealth in assets that could not so easily be brought with them if they were to leave. They owned and rented out several properties, and were loathe to leave it all behind and flee. Maybe they thought someone would eventually fix the problems plaguing their city, or maybe they were just that foolish.

Lileas was always distant from her parents—they were too concerned with trying to save their wealth as it slowly fell apart in disuse to spend much time with her. Her father, at least, gave her an education where the city could not, and being an accountant himself, had done well enough in his own schooling to teach her. Maybe it wasn't as good as a proper education, but it was enough to get her by. She was literate, at least. She still saw him more like a student would a teacher than a child would a father, though.

Perhaps she was biased in doing so, but looking back, she'd say he was treating her more like he was trying to raise an heiress than a daughter. An heiress to what? They had lost nearly everything by that point, between disuse and the violence in town. Maybe they were just too obsessed to notice. Eventually, somewhere in her mid teens, Lileas finally got fed up with it all. She left home, figuring her parents wouldn't even notice if she left anyway. She didn't have much of anywhere to go, though, and ended up nearly getting herself killed when she stumbled upon a gang fight.

As soon as she got over the shock, she ran, but someone had already seen her. She ended up backed into an alley, until unexpectedly, her pursuer dropped to the ground, fast asleep. She had been rescued by a pokemon, a Gastly. She never did go back home, and if her parents tried to find her, they never succeeded. She ended up being forced to live on the streets, but that same Gastly who had saved—who she eventually named Vellin—her seemed to have taken a liking to her, and the two ended up spending several years together, somehow managing to scrape a living out of hiding, stealing, and even occasionally even fighting.

She hated it, but hated the thought of going back home even more. She had no purpose behind what she did than simply survival, and that just wasn't enough. She had heard a lot about pokemon trainers, kids even, heading out into the world on their own. The rest of the world had to be a much nicer place than where she was, she thought, if kids were going out alone and making it back safe. Maybe it was worth trying. Eventually, she managed to get ahold of some of the tools those trainers used, and Vellin seemed good with the idea, so she planned to begin her new life as a trainer. Along the way out of town, she managed to catch the second addition to her team—a wild Sneasel that had been hanging around near the town's outskirts. And with that, she was ready to go, and finally leave this place behind.
