Darkrai gets my vote here. I has Dark-type moves, which could really destroy Lugia... And it could put it asleep, Lol.

Dark-types get the upper hand against Psychic-types, so Lugia will definitely get thrashed by Darkrai.

Lugia, DUH. No offense, but Darkrai = Cheap. Lugia is actually one of the coolest Legendarys, at least to me. Once I figure out Zekrom vs Victini, I'll do whoever wins that vs Lugia. That will decide my favorite Legendary and be on my team...

Although, if Darkrai has enough strength, plus the type advantage, it could be an interesting match.

Darkrai. Dark Void is annoying, combined with a Dream Eater, fantastic. Also, Dark gets the upper hand again a Psychic type.

I guess Lugia can beat Darkrai... Yeah, I know that Darkrai has the Type-advantage. But Lugia has good SATK and SDEF.
So I guess he could take one or two Dark pulses from Darkrai (which is his strongest Dark-Type-attack he can learn throug Lvl. up.)
The SDEF from Darkrai on the other hand is... not bad... But maybe not good enough to stand against an Aeroblast...

But of course that all means nothing if Darkrai hits with Hypnosis.

Depends on level of course (If Darkrai is lv1 and Lugia is lv100 then Lugia would OWN darkrai) so no vote.

But in scientifics (without the level thing) it would be Darkrai.

With the level thing, it would depend on the levels.

Protip: Get your Lugia to a high level and teach it the perfect moves to beat Darkrai then go out and make it feed on Darkrais.

While with types, Darkrai would win, I would have to personally go with Lugia. While Darkrai can put pokemon to sleep, Lugia, however, is the guardian of the ocean, and is the leader of the 3 legendary birds. When following the pokemon adventure mangas, Lugia was the one that had to power to destroy all of Kanto and some of Jhoto in one go, making it a powerful pokemon that no one would have to go up against.

If this were a fight of opinion, Lugia'd probably win as Darkrai's kind of cheap.

But going back to that, if Lugia and Darkrai were to have a battle, Darkrai would win with his dark-typed moves, Dark Void, Dream Eater, Nightmare, Bad Dreams, and a bunch of other stuff that would leave Lugia in the dust.

They both can win from their powers. Dark beats Psychic, Psychic beats Dark. But since Lugia is also flying/water, he would win.

Lugia is not flying/water according to the Pokédex on Bulbapedia. He is psychic/flying.
Yes, Darkrai would win with his type advantage.

Dark on the premise that it's super effective against Psychic. Not to mention Darkrai with its void move that puts you to sleep (I forget the name of it off the top of my head) and its Bad Dreams ability can be pretty harmful to any Pokemon, not just Lugia.
