Ice. There are just more awesome ice types, at least percentage-wise since there are significantly more water types than pretty much anything else. I guess that's another reason, there are just too many water types so I get bored of seeing most of them. And I am saying this as someone whose favourite pokemon is a water type, I think that is saying something.

Water! Water is my second favorite type, the first being Grass. While they are both good options, Water has smexyness and also good Pokemon. Ice have good Pokemon, but for some reason they are sorta like a switching magnet to me. First they are attracted to me, and then not, then again, then not...

Quite simply, ice. It's super effective against two more types than water is, INCLUDING two types that resist water.
Plus it's the only type other that dragon that's super effective against dragons, and it's the bane of pretty much every pseudo-legend barring Metagross. Soooooo... yeah. Kinda unanimous for me. Also kinda because Ice Beam is my favorite attack, but that's beside the point. -------------------- |

Water. Need I say more? I only use Water Pokemon in my game. My main team is a Rain Dance team. Gen 5 is giving us Boiling Water, 30% chance burn is much better than 10% freeze. Just water... If I say anything longer I'd give you a wall of text. This. Ice-types fear my Typhlosion. ~ -------------------- |

Water. Ice may be good for dragon types, but really what else is it good for?

I can't decide they are both on my top 3 types. The other one is Electric if you were wondering.

I'm partial to the Water Pokemon - go piplup! - since they cancel fire types, which as someone stated, are common, I think they are more powerful. They have far better moves than Ice - name some good moves? Aqua Ring, Brine... Oh and water types are always good to have around because you have to use Waterfall and Surf in the game sometimes. There are various ice types, as well as normal, flying, fighting, dragon and other types that have pokemon eligible for learning surf and/or waterfall. -------------------- |

Personally, I am partial to water because It's my favorite type, but it also has several advantages over Ice, the chief one being it trumps fire types, arguably one of the most common of all types. Another advantage is a water types ablility to learn moves of several other types, Inculding several powerful Ice attacks.

Water. Just overall more useful. Ice Pokemon usually annoy me, and I like using Dragon pokemon to knock out other dragons.

I'm inclined to say that water types are better overall. They are more defensive in nature and most can learn Ice Beam and/or Blizzard, the most common move used to take out Dragons. Also most ice type pokemom are pretty much unusable imo, excluding a few like Abomasnow or Kyurem.

They both have their pros and cons, however I'm going to have to side with Water, just because of the diversity, better elemental resistances, less weaknesses and better ability to handle itself with or without its weather. (Hail, Rain Dance, etc.)

I voted for Ice, just because there are more Pokémon in that group that I really like or find funny.
