So, I've tested this team out on Shoddy, and it's been working pretty darn good. So, I though about re-creating it in Diamond/Platinum. But first, I want other's opinions.
@ Choice Scarf Nature: Timid Ability: Adaptation EV spread: 252 SpA/252 Spe/6 Hp Moves: Tri-Attack Thunderbolt Ice Beam HP Fighting/Dark Pulse Comments: My lead. Usually, he works very well. Nothing much else to say... @ Expert Belt/Life Orb Nature: Hasty Ability: Blaze EV spread: 188 SpA/252 Spe/70 Atk Moves: Fire Blast/Flamethrower HP Grass/Electric/Ice Focus Punch EQ Comments: I've been working on a Typhlosion that doesn't need Sunny Day or Choice Scarf, and I finally think I got it. With 188 EV's in Special Attack, it just reaches 300 Special Attack, with 31 IV's of course. I'm aiming for HP Grass, with Electric and Ice behind. Focus Punch does indeed take prediction, but trust me, it works. Still can't decide on Expert Belt or Life Orb... @ Shell Bell Nature: Adamant Ability: Intimidate EV spread: 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 Hp Moves: WaterFall Ice Fang/Outrage Stone Edge/EQ Dragon Dance Comments: Pretty Standard. Outrage has been growing on me, but I don't know if it's good or not. @ ??? Nature: Adamant Ability: Sand Stream EV Spread: 252 Atk/252 Spe/6 Hp Moves: Stone Edge Crunch Fire Punch Dragon Dance/Aqua Tail Comments: This, this I need help with. I can't decide if I should go with Choice Band, or Dragon Dance. :/ @ Leftovers Nature: Jolly Ability: Not sure which one... EV spread: Hp 244/Def 78/Spe 188 Moves: EQ Stone Edge Roost Swords Dance/Stealth Rock Comments: A wall that's not a wall, and a sweeper that's not a sweeper... nuff said? @ Leftovers Nature: Careful Ability: Pressure EV Spread: Hp 252/Sp.Def 252 Moves: Shadow Sneak Thunder/Fire Punch Pain Split Will-o-wisp Comments: A Special Defense wall. Yeah. OTHERS: THESE ARE INTERCHANGEABLE, AND ALREADY EV'D @ Liechi Berry Nature: Adamant Ability: Technician EV Spread: 252 Atk/252 Spe/6 Def Moves: Bullet Punch X- Scissor Brick Break Swords Dance @ Lum Berry Nature: Jolly Ability: Inner Focus EV Spread: 252 Atk/252 Spe/6 Def Moves: Outrage Fire Punch EQ Dragon Dance @ Leftovers Nature: Impish Ability: Overgrow EV Spread: 252 Hp/252 Def/6 Atk Moves: Wood Hammer EQ Leech Seed Stealth Rock Ending Statement So, this is my team. Go ahead and comment, rate, constructively criticize, and most of all, give suggestions. Thanks. This post has been edited by Geoffrey: Feb 27 2009, 11:38 PM -------------------- |

Usually, he works very well. Nothing much else to say... This is a good pokemon, but not an excelled lead. Use another of your pokemon, although it doesn't look like you have a suitable lead here, bar ScarfTyphlosion. If you don't want to switch, keep this guy as your lead. Use Hidden Power Fight / Tri Attack / Dark pulse for unresisted coverage, then add Tbolt or Ice beam depending on which your more scared of, Gyara or Dragons @ Expert Belt/Life Orb Nature: Hasty Ability: Blaze EV spread: 188 SpA/252 Spe/70 Atk Moves: Fire Blast/Flamethrower HP Grass/Electric/Ice Focus Punch EQ Comments: I've been working on a Typhlosion that doesn't need Sunny Day or Choice Scarf, and I finally think I got it. This set nabs decent coverage, I admit but Life Orb is by far and away the most helpful item here, use it. Please. Don't be an Outrage Gyara user. It utterly fails. Badly. Use either a Bulkygyara or the standard DDGyara here, although I believe BulkGyara would serve better as you lack major bulkiness in your attackers, a fatal flaw in many teams. :/ Don't use Fire Punch. Your others moves can help with Skarmory and Bronzong and vs a steel, your gonna want the extra base power of Earthquake. Use CB and Aqua Tail, as a max Atk CBTtar 2HKO'es both Gliscor and Hippowdon with Aqua Tail, a formidable feat for any physical attacker. Use Choice band as your item. @ Leftovers Nature: Jolly Ability: Not sure which one... EV spread: Hp 244/Def 78/Spe 188 Moves: EQ Stone Edge Roost Swords Dance/Stealth Rock Comments: A wall that's not a wall, and a sweeper that's not a sweeper... nuff said? Use EQ and Fire Fang here, otherwise Scizor eats this thing. You'll want SD so you can damage stuff with this set for sure.Since you have SS support from TTar, use Sand Veil. @ Leftovers Nature: Careful Ability: Pressure EV Spread: Hp 252/Def 23/Sp.Def 235 Moves: Shadow Sneak Thunder/Fire Punch Pain Split Will-o-wisp Comments: A Special Defense wall. Yeah. ... 23 and 235 Ev's ? No, just no. Neiter are divisble by four, therefore both are redundant. Since you want a SpD wall, use Max HP and SpD. Also use Shadow Sneak / Brick break as this offers your wall unresisted coverage. OTHERS: THESE ARE INTERCHANGEABLE, AND ALREADY EV'D @ Liechi Berry Nature: Adamant Ability: Technician EV Spread: 252 Atk/252 Spe/6 Def Moves: Bullet Punch X- Scissor Brick Break Swords Dance @ Lum Berry Nature: Jolly Ability: Inner Focus EV Spread: 252 Atk/252 Spe/6 Def Moves: Outrage Fire Punch EQ Dragon Dance @ Leftovers Nature: Impish Ability: Overgrow EV Spread: 252 Hp/252 Def/6 Atk Moves: Wood Hammer EQ Leech Seed Stealth Rock Ending Statement So, this is my team. Go ahead and comment, rate, constructively criticize, and most of all, give suggestions. Thanks. Comments in bold. Bit too heavily OU for my liking, Typhlosion is a nice exception on this team. Overall decent, I can see this grabbing a few wins. This post has been edited by ImaPenguin95: Feb 27 2009, 02:14 PM -------------------- |

Yay, finally a response. And not by a newb!
Thanks for the tips on this, and I agree about the OU comment, usually I'm not a big fan of them, but a lot of my favorites just happen to perform well it seems... You're completely right about Gyarados's inability to use Outrage, just tested it, and it didn't work. At all. I'm not too sure about Fire Fang and EQ on Gliscor. Sure, Fire Fang helps against our friend Scizor, but then it makes my team all the more vulnerable to Salamence. And in regards to Dusknoir... my bad, I put the wrong EV's. How stupid can I get. I've tried Outrage Gyara too. Its kill ratio with Outrage was something like 2 kills . . . per 10 matches xD I know what you mean with Fire Fang on Gliscor and if your that worried about our newly equipped friend 'mence, how about using Ice Fang / EQ / Fire fang / Roost or SD, depending on which you think works best ? -------------------- |

Ice Fang can be a potential option. Helps out against Celebi as well as Salamence. But this Gliscor needs SD to do good damage, and roost to recover from hits, seeing how it does act as a semi-wall. So, it's move slots are limited... EQ is a given, but not to sure about the second slot. Ice Fang, Fire Fang, or Stone Edge. Also, I was thinking about adding in Ursaring some where in my team, either replacing Gyarados, or T-Tar. I'm thinking about having a Choice Band Ursaring, meaning T-tar would be out, or making him a DDancer, and letting Gyarados go. Thoughts on this? -------------------- |

I can most certainly help you with Ursaring, I'm kind of an expert :p First of all, Ursaring really shouldn' be used straight out. Its a pokemon designed for late game destruction. The best set, personally, I think is Toxic Orb Quick Feet. This is an excellent late game sweeper, if they don't have a pokemon to otrun it, your opponent can say GG after you pull it out. Heres the set : Ursaring @ Toxic Orb Jolly - 252Atk / 252 Speed (Quick Feet) ~Swords Dance ~Facade ~Close Combat ~Fire Punch A Swords Danced Facade will rip everything its used against apart and manages to 2hko Skarmory, even though its resisted, which is a crazy achievment for any physical sweeper, considering Skarmory resists facade. This could be used over either Gyarados or Tyranitar but its probably going to damage your team less if you use it instead of Tyranitar as using it over gyara will add in another unneeded Fighting weak, as TTar already has a nasty Fight weak. On the Gliscor sense, choose the last move accordingly to what your team needs. Mence, Scizor or Zapdos support. If Mence, Ic Fang, if Scizor, Fire Fang, if Zapdos, Stone Edge. -------------------- |

Redid the team a bit.

Can't decide between Fire Punch or Crunch though, cause last time I used this, Driftblim kinda got in my way... @ Leftovers Nature: Jolly Ability: Hyper Cutter EV spread: Hp 244/Def 78/Spe 188 Moves: EQ Stone Edge Roost Swords Dance/Stealth Rock Comments: A wall that's not a wall, and a sweeper that's not a sweeper... nuff said? @ Leftovers Nature: Careful Ability: Pressure EV Spread: Hp 252/Sp.Def 252 Moves: Shadow Sneak Thunder/Fire Punch Pain Split Will-o-wisp Comments: A Special Defense wall. Yeah. Comments now? -------------------- |
