A Few of My Peeps

Name: Landon "Lane" Jacobson
Age: 15
Hometown: Daigake

Appearance:

Lane stands at a little above average height, weighing at around 170 pounds. His weight comes from his lean and athletic build that is accentuated when his well tanned skin shines in the sun. He has a hardy frame, scar covered and more often than not bruised. His stride implies confidence in his strength and a carefree nature. His dirty blonde hair has grown to an unruly length that he keeps at bay by tying it into a short ponytail that reaches to the bottom of his neck. His eyes shine a brilliant sky blue, which carry a glimmer of intelligence, even if he doesn't display it.

Lane wears, or should one say, he prefers less clothing if any at all. He is laden in a loose fitting orange tank top with three thick black stripes wrapping horizontally around the base of the tee. His dark navy jeans, ripped more from wear and tear than design, hang loosely from his waist. His shoes are his thick callused feet covered in dirt from his must explore everything attitude. He always keeps a small bag, containing essentials like sandals so that places that require shoes, if not begrudgingly allow him in, clad to his belt which hangs just as loosely to his waistline as his pants. They seemed to more help his pants fall than keep them up. A navy blue single strap backpack, patched and duck taped to prevent his assortment of goodies from falling out, is placed around his frame hanging off from his neck, resting gently near his lower back.

Personality:

At a glance, most people would assume Lane a simpleton. Seeing as how he carries himself with reckless abandon, and has a naivety that would let him trust a man with a gun to his face. Though when going below first impression's Lane is exceptionally perceptive, who is simmering in intelligence guised in a goofy demeanor.

Lane has a bit of a mischievous streak to him, which was fueled on by his befriending of his Solosis. He is curious and carefree. More often than not does his carefree attitude gotten him into a sticky situation. Lane is a sucker for adventure and exploring the unexplored. Which has led to the inevitable scratch or two. Growing up seeking such adventure, landed him in the particular life style he has now, which is to discover and map out all the unexplored places in Furoh.

Growing up in a sea town clad in cliffs Lane developed hobbies such as fishing and rock climbing, as well as being quite adept at scuba diving. Especially to reach those never treaded underwater caves. He is a glutton that will eat anything in sight if he can get his hands on it, it is only thanks to his physical life style that he manages to stay in shape.

Unorganized, impatient, and rarely planning anything. Lane takes life a day at a time. Laidback to the extent that it seems apathetic. Though he certainly is capable of sympathizing as long as the reason is justifiable to him. Stubborn to a fault, Lane will not do anything he doesn't want to, and that means anything. The only light one can take from his stubbornness is that he has a sense of justice that parallels it, which gives him the strength to do what he thinks is right. Even if it means swimming 2 miles in the ocean to return a baby Shellder to its family. He isn't quick to anger unless something defies his stance on justice. Taking away his food is another way to get to his angry side.

The teenager loves Pokemon, exceedingly so that he will not hesitate to sacrifice his body to protect what his hands can reach. He seems to befriend them easily, almost as if it was second nature to him. Lane is extraordinarily outgoing and friendly, people seem drawn to him, though he'd prefer that they would look to others, since he doesn't consider himself a leader type of person, and would rather just go with the flow of things.

He never had a particular interest in Pokémon battling, though he seems to have a knack for strategy and Pokemon training. He favors using the environment or the Pokémon's specific personality traits in battle.

Bio:

Landon was born in early spring, complications had arisen during his birth and his mother did not survive. His father had loved Lane's mother dearly, as she was his only family it was tough for him to cope with the loss alone. His father bared no hate towards Lane though, especially since Lane, at least when he was young, was the spitting image of his mother. His father raised Lane as he knew his wife would have wanted with a follow your dreams mentality. He began to stretch his legs from an early age. As soon as he was able to walk he was running, albeit more into walls and table corners than any actual places. The family of him and his dad lived cozily in a small house cut into Daigake's cliffs. The abode wasn't large, as his father couldn't support much with his fisherman trade, but it was home and Lane wouldn't have had it any other way. The family lived with smiles and that was all they needed.

Pokemon were a light of happiness to the family, his father had a old Pelipper, and a Machop, who helped him in his line of work. Lane began helping his father with fishing as soon as he was able, growing up by the sea had instilled a since of wonder, respect and love in the young boy towards the ocean. Helping his father and his Pokemon allowed his body to grow sturdy from the labor. For two years, Lane enjoyed his work with his father.

When Lane turned seven, that was really when the adventure seed took root in the boy's heart. He had fallen into a well while out with his father's Pelipper on a fetching water errand. The well's wall had grown weak from the continuous erosion by the wind and surf of a seaside town and collapsed, hand when Lane leaned against it to pull the bucket of water from inside the well. Lane stumbled forward and fell the some twenty feet to the cold water below. Pelipper instantly flew off to fetch Lane's father. The sun had set now, and the well was instantly pitch black, but then the well had lit up with light and that struck at Lane's curiosity switch. The next thing he knew was him waking up in his bed with a tealish green stone shining brilliantly in his hand.

With that mystery stuck in his mind, Lane spread his wings even more than ever previously. His father couldn't count how many times he had to fish Lane out of that well. It wasn't long till Lane began going into the caves of Daigake, the surrounding forests, and especially the Big Lighthouse. Sometimes he could hear the shouts and the crashing of plates when the senile old man threw tantrums at trainers who came to get their Pokemon's name rated, as he was scaling the Lighthouse. Yes, he was trying to scale it.

His body had grown even stronger in these next few years of rummaging through dark caves, and climbing to seek out hidden mysteries in the Wingull nests laden in the walls of the cliffs. By the time he was ten he had memorized the route to the underground lake, which had become his personal playground.

Happening upon his eleventh birthday, Lane was taking his usual route towards the underground lake to do a little fishing. The native Pokemon had grown custom to Lane and paid him no particular heed, when he was leisurely strolling through the dark caves without so much as even needing a flashlight. Lane was even more careless than usual today and had taken a wrong turn into an area that he hadn't explored yet. It wasn't long before he had no idea where he was. Shrugging his shoulders he turned around to return to the starting point, but it didn't take much for him to realize he was walking in circles.

For hours he struggled with this maze of circles, not understanding the mess he was in. He took awhile but eventually he began to notice a slight snickering in the distance. Following the noise he happened upon what looked to be an abandoned Solosis playing a trick, out of some grudge. Looking at the Solosis, he smiled gently and said "If you are lonely here, I'll take you with me." Solosis glanced at him and simply teleported away.

From that day onward for the next weeks they played that game of cat and mouse in the darkness of those tunnels until Lane finally managed to secure Solosis in a Poke ball procured from his father.

Solosis quickly became part of the family, the old Pelipper seemed to treat him as nothing more than a nuisance who interrupted his naps with the occasional prank using his psychic powers. Machop watched amusingly at Pelipper getting worked up at the jokes, and soon began joining in on the pranks. Following in suit, Lane started too. It got to the point that Pelipper just built himself a nest on the cliff above the house, just for naps.

Lane decided to name him Wiley, on account of his trickery. It wasn't before long that Lane and Wiley were stirring up trouble in the sleepy town using Wiley's trickery, from causing the old Name Rater to hear terrible nicknames, to painting the lighthouse an assortment of different colors. When Lane and Wiley were not causing chaos, they continued to explore the regions of the cave Lane had avoided earlier.

The next four years were blissful to Lane, as his now larger family continued from the day by day. Lane and Wiley quickly finished mapping out the rest of caves around Daigake, even with the help he gave to his father on the fishing boat. But Lane was getting restless Daigake wasn't big enough for his adventurous spirit and his father could tell.

As Lane's fifteenth birthday arrived, his father had already come to a decision. "Lane" he said suddenly "What is you want to do?".
Lane's eyes lit up with excitement. "I want to see everything!" He exclaimed.
"I thought as much." the old fisherman sighed, as he creaked his old bones. He stood up and went over to the closest and threw out a tattered backpack. "Go and see it then" Lane's father explained, at the sight of the questioning look on Lane's face. It didn't take but a second for Lane to register, and he quickly and put on his pack and was on his way out the door.
"Oh, and one more thing, from the name rater." he threw over a pokeball to Lane, who bobbled it before catching it in his hands. "It's a Chimchar" his father continued. "The name rater found it injured the other day on the outskirts of town, when he was chasing a Trainer with terrible naming sense. He said he fought the injury well, he nicknamed him Caden for you."

Lane let Caden out of his ball, and stated with a grin "well, let's go."

Pokemon:

Wiley, level 10

Nature: Quirky
Psywave/Reflect/Rollout/Snatch

Caden, level 5

Skills:

Lane is remarkable perceptive and can usually tell a Pokemons condition upon a glance. He is good at fishing, and due to his adventurous ways he knows quite a bit about outdoor living skills. Rock climbing and swimming are his particular strong points. With his Athletic build he also has quite a bit out stamina stored up.

Weaknesses:

Lane isn't particular good at dealing with the opposite sex. He tends to have trouble speaking to a pretty lady and lets his body to the talking. He's been known to grope. Being from a family in a family of all men didn't help the matter much. Lane and his naivety leads him to say blunt and hurtful things with no ill intent. He can be a bit tactless to say the least. He also isn't to particularly fond of the heat either.

Wiley cannot be higher than level 10. Other than that, add the biscuit's name and it's good happy.gif.
