Has anyone noticed the similarities Lysandre and Cyrus share? They both tried to destroy the world and create a new, better one. They also both attempted to use a legendary Pokemon to do so. They use some of the same Pokemon(mainly Gyarados and Honchkrow), and they also have a strange sense of hair style.

At least they took a 1 gen break between them. :V
Part of me wants to think this was a mistake, but there's no way they couldn't have noticed this. Then again, the devs apparently expected the player to not know Lysandre was the villain until way later in the story, despite the fact that he blatantly telegraphs it from the moment you see him. Maybe they phoned in the story due to the whole project of modeling 721 pokemon, plus megas and alternate forms. It's forgivable if they don't start making a habit out of it. (Copying characters, I mean.) Now that I think about it, there's also the link of Sycamore being a student of Professor Rowan, also from Sinnoh, and Lysandre and Sycamore were once friends. Maybe the whole thing actually was intentional. This game has had so many references to the other games, though, including Viridian Forest being lifted wholesale and transplanted in (Santalune Forest). It might have been an odd attempt at a reference. -------------------- |

Yeah, the story's really the weakest bit of Gen 6. Otherwise, all the new features they've added, making competitive battling more accessible, having it all in 3D, designing a beautiful region. I think it was all worth it, really. The game isn't perfect, but no game is.
