For example:
Your daycare pokémon produce 2 eggs. You are shiny hunting that specific pokemon. Which egg do you choose? I usually stick to picking the 2nd one. What egg do you choose? --------------------    |

2 eggs: one on the left

I tend to always pick the egg on the right, regardless of how many eggs I breed.
It works surprisingly well for me, considering some of my shiny breeds were part of a creche of eggs that I never bothered choosing from. |

I /always/ pick the first one. By sticking to that, I can never be disappointed for not getting a shiny I bred. :P Got a Snorunt and lost a Squirtle that way.

I tend to choose from the right regardless of the amount. Haven't had too much luck though, with a ratio of 1/9 or so shinies. However I did get one in the end so no real loss except time.

I use my Silph Scope (even if I've bred with a Ditto), then click whichever one gives me the best ~shiny vibes~. It's worked three times out of four - the fifth time doesn't count since I wasn't shiny hunting that species.

I never thought that having a "picking system" could affect your chances on getting a shiny... I just choose any that catches my eye, I do it randomly.

Some people are just picky or develop a sort of OCD for these things (like me). with my clone bulbasaur and clone squirtle, i used to alternate between the first and second egg if they were both bulbasaur, but a few weeks ago i started to only take an egg if there was only one bulbasaur egg and the other was one of the other three options. that way if i get a shiny i'll be happy, and if not then i won't have beat myself up over taking the wrong egg. (yes, i know there would have been a 50% chance of choosing the right egg, but there's a 50% chance i wouldn't have...)
i guess it worked, since i hatched a shiny a few hours ago.
