I've noticed that you can encounter Pokemon that evolved from a stone in the wild. This makes me wonder if the Pokemon had their own way of evolving, and the humans made a stone that allows them to do that w/ technology. Or, the stones already existed, and the Pokemon just find them in random places (as you do on the game)? Also, how Pokemon evolved in the wild who need to have high friendship. In some of the Pokemon movies, I've seen wild Umbreon and Espeon. How would they be able to do that without a trainer or something?

In one of the episodes, it says that near a patch of gloom, there are 2 rocks that have a bunch of sun stone and leaf stone in them. When the wind blows, it carries dust of the stones and evolves them, so I would say they would find their own stones. As for the happiness, I guess it would be the pokemons choice to evolve, and well as feeling loved, just when you reach max friendship, it feels the love and evolves for you.

In my mind its quite simple:
When a Pokemon is caught, its power is weakened. The explanation with underleveled Pokemon with trainers in game I call BWOC, or Befriended WithOut Capture. With wild Pokemon, everything happens a bit faster so stones, bonding, and all that are needed. ...I don't know aboout you guys' ideas, though. Thats just what I believe (thats why with legendaries you can't distroy/rule the would when you capture it, hence the Red Chain with Dialga/Palkia) -------------------- |

I'm pretty sure that evolutionary stones are a natural occurrence in the Pokemon world. Remember, in the first season episode 'Clefairy and the Moon Stone', there was a Moon Stone in the cave that the Clefairy lived in. And in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, there are the moss- and ice-covered rocks. Those have the same evolutionary properties as the smaller stones do, but only for Eevee. Regardless, it's safe to say that evolutionary stones are natural.
As for the happiness factor, I believe that a Pokemon that needs happiness to evolve can do so without a trainer. I'm fairly certain Pokemon are happy in the wild for the most part. -------------------- |
