I just got done reading about a Pokemon Red hack under the title of Pokemon "Black," where you had a fourth starter choice called GHOST. Choosing this Rokemon as your starter caused all Pokemon (and trainers) fought to die instead of faint.
Anyway, that (and music from Majora's Mask) got me thinking about ghosts for a while and I just thought I'd see what people thought. I personally see ghosts as observers who don't interact with humans. However, a part of me thinks there's one in my living room... for a number of reasons that I won't bore you with. -------------------- Twitch Plays Pokemon has taught me three things: - Praise Helix - The PC and the B button are both evil incarnate - Never bet on Entei I have claims on Banette... but that should be obvious. I strongly believe in ghosts, because I've seen a couple myself, and my family has told me of some they've been around, too. So I've grown up hearing about them, and I definitely believe they exist. I don't know exactly how or why, and I don't think it's common for them to 'form' or whatever, or else we'd be overrun. But yeah, maybe some are just able to hang on for whatever reason before dissipating.
ANyway, the first ghost I ever saw totally freaked me out. I never thought seeing one would affect me like that, but for some reason, it just terrified me. I feel bad saying that, cuz I never thought I'd be afraid, but yeah. It was one year on my birthday, and we'd always have a party thing at the clubhouse my aunt has on some property by the river. There are cornfields, and an old falling-down barn nearby. We'd known this barn has been around FOREVER(everyone always said it and the house nearby had been used for the Underground Railroad), and as my family likes haunted stuff like that, us kids would walk down to the barn near sunset each year for fun. That year, there were a few more of us than usual, though still not many. We were walking around it, and I walked the opposite direction around it than the others. Suddenly, not far in front of me, I could see a figure. He was just standing there, all smoky and translucent, in a light-colored shirt and suspenders, with a big hat on, and I believe he was African American. Seeing him, by heart just stopped and I stared in silence, and then he took a step forward and disappeared into nothingness. That's when I totally freaked out and ran as fast as I could to the others screaming. We tried to find him again, but that was the first and only time I've seen him. The barn has since completely fallen down. The second ghost I saw, I wasn't the only one to see it. My dog Bruno was just a puppy at the time, and I had taken him outside to go to the bathroom. We were walking around, and he started growling, staring towards the road, and the fur on his back was straight up. I was scared to see what he was looking at so angrily, but looked towards the road. A canine figure stood there facing us, smoky and translucent, it's ears perked up. I heard a car coming and thought the lights would illuminate the creature so I could see it better, but as soon as the lights hit it, it disappeared. I was disappointed that it was gone, but when the lights from the car passed, I noticed it was still there, just turned around and looking back at us over its shoulder. Then it turned the other way and walked into nothingness. I don't know who the human ghost was, but my guess would be that he was a slave from the Civil War time. But it's sad that he'd have been there for so long. As for the canine ghost, I believe I knew him. I used to have an Alaskan Malamute named Roche, but he was stolen years before. I think Roche died, and that was his ghost finally coming home to say goodbye. -------------------- |

I think Roche died, and that was his ghost finally coming home to say goodbye. Oh! That is so touching... I kind of wish it had been that way with our cat, Jack. Mind you, I'd faint the second I saw him out of fright, but it would be nice; I loved that cat. But my parents say that Jack DID say goodbye; on the final night they let him out, he turned his head and gave a long look at them; he knew he was going to die. I just feel bad that I couldn't have been there. I was sleeping for school the next day. -------------------- Twitch Plays Pokemon has taught me three things: - Praise Helix - The PC and the B button are both evil incarnate - Never bet on Entei I have claims on Banette... but that should be obvious. lol, 8 votes and not a single no. We're a paranoid group, aren't we?
But yeah, I feel that it's possible. Much like the idea of God, we don't really have the technology to prove it one way or the other, which means there isn't any reason to say that you know they don't exist 100%. -------------------- space...spacespace...wanna go to space...I'm in space...are we in space...I wanna into space, are you space? I think.... I'm about a 50/50 on this.
it's not that i don't believe in them, but it's more of a, " I need to see it or I won't believe it, but still think something might be there" kinda thing. My uncle a couple of weeks ago was working on this old house, doing repairs since it was pretty old, it's a pretty house and all that, but he went on telling us on how when he was working in the livingroom, he had just put a cable cord down through the ceiling for the television, he went to go get some pliers and when he came back, the cord had vanished He jokingly went up to the people he was working with (since they all heard about how the house was haunted) and asked them where they put it, and they said they hadn't taken it. When he went back not even five minutes later, the cord had re-appeared. He'd also have problems with measuring things. When they would be cutting the hardwood planks to place on the ground, he'd measure them perfectly, go cut them, and come back to find out he had cut off to much or to little, he'd eventually get it right but dang xD that must of been annoying. Now, i'd never ever call my uncle a liar, and I want to believe him, but y'know, it's just one of those things. Gotta be there to believe it. -------------------- [align=center]The help page has loads of useful information!

I certainly believe in Ghosts and i have seen 2, and felt the presence of 1..
The 1st one i saw was when i was 18, she was an old lady pacing the corridors of my aunties house - the most amazing thing of this was she had on a dress with puffy sleeves like they wore in the 19th and early 20th centuries..She did not interact or even look at me. The 2nd one was at my friends house - her Uncle was killed 5yrs earlier and my friend told me he has been many times at her house. I saw him near her lounge room curtains, like the 1st one he did nothing and did not interact. The presence i felt was my own father. I never knew my father, but when i went looking for him and his family i was told he was killed in a car accident in 1982(i was 8 at the time). 6mths later while staying at my Nanna's(his mum's) i felt him when i went to bed - a cool breeze went past my head. And no it wasn't the wind as my window was closed and no it wasn't anyone else in the room - i was alone. The next morning i found a leather jacket laying over me. It was his and my Nanna asked me(quite angrily) how i got it. I didn't, i didn't even know it his or where it had been. She told me it was locked in a chest in the shed. This freaked me out a bit, but then i felt sooo good because i knew someone was with me that night - the father i had never met. -------------------- |

Yes I believe in ghosts completely. I've heard them speak before. My brother was in the same room at the time, when all of a sudden something said "where the fuck are you"? My brother and I were FREAKED! I've also heard footsteps and my father has heard the faint cries of a baby throughout the house. My mother smelled perfume in my parents' room late at night. Another time, my father heard spoons rattling downstairs in the kitchen while everyone was sleeping. Man... I've also been to the Whaley house in San Diego, has anyone heard of that place? if you haven't, you should look it up. I've got many stories, I also believe in ouija boards, and voodoo, and all that jazz.

I believe in ghosts, not because I have seen any but, I have heard them.
One morning when I got out of bed I heard a female voice, either a teenager's or a young adult's. They said "Good morning Samantha!" Now, since my brother was asleep in the next room, my sister was asleep in her bedroom downstairs, and no one else was in the room, I was a bit freaked out. Only a moment later, as if curious, my cat Gizmo came in the room. Now either cats can speak English or there was a ghost in my bedroom since there was no one else there that would have been able to say it. Oh, and yes, Samantha is my name. I then went downstairs and in to the kitchen when someone said "Hello!" My first instinct of course was to respond "Who are you?" which I did, just to get no response. Only a moment later, my cat Shakira entered the room, appearing curious. No one else was in the room. So again, either cats can speak English, or there was a ghost. Also, several times I have heard my family members calling me when they didn't. So either I was hearing things a lot or ghosts were playing tricks on me. -------------------- If any of my old friends want to contact me, please email me!

Ghosts are clearly real and if you think they are not then disprove certain ghost based phonomina (poltergists for example).

Ghosts are clearly real and if you think they are not then disprove certain ghost based phonomina (poltergists for example). There are theories that poltergeists are in fact NOT ghosts but subconcious psychic phenomena of stressed adolescents. Yeah, I believe in them. I've seen them, heard them, and felt them.
How I've seen them? My friend and I were sleeping over at my house and telling all sorts of scrazy stories about school, people, etc. We were right in the middle of a conversation when I looked at my bedroom's wall and saw a shadow of a man in one of those big trenchcoats with a detective-like hat. I looked for something that caused the shadow, only to find nothing, and when I turned the light off and on for a second or two, it was gone. I was pretty freaked that night, even if it had a.. non-threatening presence. How I've heard them? It was a couple days before we were going to adopt a puppy from a local shelter, so we had moved my first dog's kennel into my room so that the puppy would get used to being around me. When I stepped upstaids for a few moments, I heard something go "Yuck!" and then I heard the kennel bang like someone kicked it. When I went to my room in investigate, nobody was there. I'm an only child, so I don't have any siblings who would scare me. And my parents wouldn't do anything like that either. How I feel them? Sometimes when I go from one room to the next, it gets much colder or much warmer. It's pretty strange, but I've gotten a bit used to it. -------------------- |
