The thing about doing what fans want in games, is that the game normally ends up crappy. See Sonic.
And I don't really see much else they can do when making a new generation. Make the game exactly the same? Same pokemon. Same gameplay. Same fundamentals. Same everything from Gen I? I'm pretty sure that is more likely to crash the series rather than adding 100 new pokemon every 5ish years. -------------------- |

Well,yes....Think about where Poke'mon comes from guys! Animals in reality. So aslong as Earth keeps finding more species then Poke'mon can keep making Poke'mon. As for games? Look at all the opposites! Fire &Ice,Love&hate. Theres alot

Am I the only one who would not be surprised (or disappointed) if they made a Pokemon MMO?
I think that would be a good direction for the series to go. -------------------- I'm back... for now :P Kudos Banner made by Viktoriya1998. Thanks to the people who contributed to my Pokedex the last time I was around! Credit goes to Team-Gama for the avatar Clicky :P (click to show ) |

Pokemon is already going down the drain. Triple Battles are going to be sloppy.

Maybe something like they introduced in Gale of Darkness (if I'm right).
Something that makes that Pokémon go ebil and stuff. But people can choose them to stay ebil or turn them to the good-asses they're supposed to be. And, maybe it's time for a different plot? 'I wanna be the champion even though I'm 10 years old and able to defeat a professional crime gang with captured legendary Pokémon' could still be fun of course... But maybe something with a plot as the PC being a Gym Leader? Or maybe a sort of 'follow up' where the PC from some previous game already starts out as the champion but has left his pokes somewhere and sets out to do Bob knows what. Nyegh, I'm sure they'll think of something though -------------------- |

If you can't think of anything more than "One more Pokemon added to double battles making them triple battles" and of course the usual "Add more pokemon" then you're running out of ideas.
Gen 2 streamlined the bag, gave us the ability to breed pokemon, and gave us shinies. Gen 3 gave us abilities, double battles, contests for the girls, and an extended game with Battle Frontier Gen 4 gave us internet trade and battle, different forms, Pokewalker for the remakes. Gen 5 gave us triple battles, seasons, high-link for small little mini-games, random Wifi matches, and of course more empathsis on plot. They showed us they can continue making plots with teams, but seriously is that all they can do? Gym Leaders, evil teams, and a number of smaller features to allow some compatibility to the previous generations? Sure they put some empathsis on multi-player, but no one is going to jump into the pokemon world to play some mini-game of tag that'll help boost some mechanic for a day when what most people care about is trading and battling. Unless they turn the DS into some multi-regional RPG that resembles an MMO then they haven't done anything to improve. Generation VI will have the same thing: connectivity to Generation V, some new side thing for girls to play and to make it so that it doesn't seem like every pokemon is useless if not used for battles, an evil team unleashing a plot that uses a legendary pokemon of the region, eight gym leaders battled in a specific order to establish a growing ground for the player, the elite four and a champion, and of course a multitude of new pokemon that this time may have some connections to the previous generation in terms of evolutions and pre-evolutions. Meanwhile, there is some slight tweaks to make it compatible with Generation V, forcing you to transfer pokemon to generation VI because they want to let you keep your hard-raised pokemon, when they could be better off redefining the system buffing old pokemon and tweaking the stats of others, making them more useful. Not to mention redefining the sounds from the first two generation pokemon to make them sound more modern than 8-bit. |

Sadly, adding random battles will result in an uber overpowered metagame. -------------------- |

My whole "wall of text" was quoted to simply have that small point picked off, something that was more or less part of a list and not the actual point I was trying to make?
I mean yeah sure adding random battles will result in an uber overpowered metagame, but most of the time you're going to be fighting little kids with in-game teams and legendary abuse, and kids being the target demographic they have no problem with. What I have a problem is their laziness by simply adding stupid features no one will ever use unless bored, the same recycled plot and structure, not to mention the simple addition of new pokemon while not redefining previous pokemon thus forcing previous generations to be forced down the gutter of being outclassed by newer pokemon with only minuscule additions all in a farce to allow people to keep their old pokemon. (And the older the generation, the sound clips being outdated) |

I think there should be more games but don't add now Pokemon or attacks. It would keep thinks simple, and if they remake all the games with the unova pokemon and great grapics, we could have a slightly easier time "catching 'em all". If that could happen, there will be a future for PKMN. Thats just what i think.
