Jill Cortoma

A little bit late for her being, actually she was ALWAYS late so that wasn't valid for an excuse, she had tagged along with one of the rescue-workers that had come to fetch her. Unknowingly she'd been staring off into the crowd, not even noticing all other volunteers had moved forward towards the hole underneath the Poison field. At least she was lucky, or perhaps not so lucky, that the rescue-worker had been standing in her near her when she had been shouting and had wondered where the Quite-Shouter had disappeared off to. Nowhere it seemed.

Just in time she arrived to see Darryn, the fashionable Co-ordinator she had to battle, descend down the large gaping underground. She was asked to stay back until another harness had been pulled back up so she too would be able to descend as well, they were lacking in material so there was no other choice. Her thoughts wondered back towards that odd voice she'd been hearing... what was that all about? Troubled by it she shrug her head and walked past the rescue-workers who were helping other trainers down the gap, getting near the edge at the side that was rendered unsafe to descend and peeked down. The darkness went down deep, but she could faintly see how the light touched the rubble beneath. Bending over a bit more the darkness seemed to fade and make way for another scenery. The depth in front of her became brighter and a small curtain of mist stretched out in front of her... she heard the rumbling of water... lots of water. It seemed as if the ground underneath her started to shake violently and the next moment a burst of water busted through the edge, filling the hole with water. A waterfall.

Fear took a hold of her body and she couldn't move anymore. Her muscles rejected the orders her body gave them and she stood paralyzed, one foot on the edge, almost entirely bend over. She could feel how the hole, the deep wanted to swallow her whole and she tried to get back, in vain however. Slowly she started to bend even more, until a loud bang made her body jolt backwards. The waterfall and mist disappeared and returned the gap that was in front of her. An illusion...?

Another bang, this time closer. Screaming and a large cloud of dust and debris flying around snapped her out of her thoughts and returned her to reality. Electrodes. That's what they were screaming. Rescue-workers desperately tried to pull their comrades and the volunteering trainers back out of the hole as the volley of Electrodes kept on coming. Jill ran over to the nearest rescue-worker and started pulling the rope as well, then extending her hand towards the people that crawled over the edge, out of the gap. Shouting. Looking left she saw how a rope was about to snap and she reached for a pokéball on her belt. The next moment an electrode dropped next to her and exploded, flinging her away as if she was just a napkin.

A vicious pain shot through her right arm and she felt how the flesh on her arm tore open as she slammed into a nearby wall. She could feel how a piece of edged stone pierced through her upper arm and how a warm liquid started to spread over it afterwards. Her entire arm went numb and she could barely put enough weight on it to get herself unto her knees. She moaned softly as she shook her head, which wasn't such a good idea at first though, it hurt incredibly. The dust surrounded her and her sight was blurry, on top of that her ears were constantly being terrorized with a high-frequency tone. At the same time that voice once again resonated through her mind.

<Hurts, doesn't it?>

"Ugh...What...?"

<I can help you if you want...>

"Wh-who's there...?"

<I've helped you before...you can trust me...>

"..."

<I'll take over for now, just relax.>

After that, Jill's mind went blank.

My body...
is made out of swords.
Iron is my blood
and glass is my heart.

I have overcome countless battlefields undefeated.
Not once have I retreated,
Nor once have I been understood.
Always alone....
On the hill of swords...
intoxicated by victory...

Thus, this life has no meaning...
This body...surely was...
Made out of blades.
