THIS IS REGARDING GLOBAL TRADE STATION PLUS (GTS PLUS), NOT GLOBAL POKÉDEX PLUS (GPX PLUS)!



I just posted this as a site announcement on the main GTSPlus.net page, but I'm posting this here too.

It's been a great ~8 years but the time has come to shut down everything on this GTSPlus.net website, other than this forum (and of course GPXPlus.net is not affected by this). We've been meaning to do this for the past couple of years now, so it has little to do with any of the "unsure future" updates in the GPX section.

This means our custom Trade Station and any image galleries / Pokémon resource pages will be shut down. The GTSPlus.net domain will redirect to either the forum or to GPXPlus.net; the forum itself may be moved over to the GPXPlus.net domain too at some point.

I cannot say for sure when the shut down will occur, but I am aiming for mid- to late-April, which gives everyone over a month to save anything they might want from the main site; from trade information to images/resources.

GTS+ was pretty much the only reason I was able to catch them all in the 4th gen. It was pretty cool having my own "storefront" for trading starters and such. It's sad that it won't be updated, but I guess it is what it is.

I know it'll be sad to see it go, but I think this'll be a good thing. It means you guys can focus on the parts of the site that are still (semi-)active: these forums and GPX+. I mean, not that GTS+ got any attention at all the last few years... but still. :P

Personally, I think it'd be nice to see the forums moved over to the gpxplus.net domain and given a reskin to be in line with that site. But I appreciate that that's a lot of work which I ddoubt you or Jeff have the time for, so we'll start with doing this.

So wait, forums.gtsplus.net will remain active, while anything else will be shut down? That's fine with me, I guess. I wasn't around to really use GTS+ all that much, but the forums are regular visits for me. Sucks to see it go though.

I never used GTS, I just posted on the forums sometimes.

I guess it makes sense to shut it down.

Chill, everything is staying. The forums and GPX+ are staying, just anything related to the trade station and images are going. That's all.

I originally came here for the great image resources as a spriter, and came back for that and GPX+.

I wasn't able to access the galleries a while back, so I thought they had already closed. It was great while it lasted.

Never really used it--I'm horrible at trading and long ago resigned myself to trading with myself between two copies of the games, ehehehe. Kinda bummed to see the images go, but then again, I haven't been able to access them in forever. Keep getting some sort of 'fatal error.' Still, it's a huge bummer to those who did use it, but at the same time understandable. It's been a good run.

I never used the other sections of the site aside from GPX+ and the forums, but it sounds like this decision is for the best. Best of luck with everything else!

Basically, it means that the site will just stay the same as it is now for an unspecified period of time. I think the mods are doing a great job of preventing that from happening too much, what with all the stuff happening recently.
