Name: Eldred Gorath

Hometown: He's technically a hobo.

Appearance: Eldred is tall and lean, and always dresses for success; seeing him without a suit is rare. His skin is fair, but looks downright pale in comparison to his always-slicked-back black hair. His eyes look blue from afar, but upon closer inspection are actually a deep shade of purple. He's an overall good looking person, especially when he smiles. His teeth are white and shining, no matter the circumstances (he always has a toothbrush on him, just in case). He doesn't look it, but he's in perfect shape, and extremely flexible.

Personality: he has a message from... Eldred is a very good actor. He makes sure people think he's charming, witty, nice, etc. However, on the inside, he's a rather cynical, cruel person. He cares for no one but himself (and, on occasion, his pokemon), and only acts nice to get what he wants.

Biography: Eldred was born in Johto to a businessman, and thus was largely ignored by his father, who was constantly busy. Because of this, Eldred ran away from home at 12 to join a troupe of traveling performers. At first, he managed technical things, since he had no experience acting, but eventually he was given a spot in the show. He was an announcer for a while, then was soon given an acrobatic act involving himself, a Geodude, and a Croagunk. He was high on the limelight, and figured he would be doing this for the rest of his life.

Until one night, when the entire troupe was jammed into one hotel in Olivine. In the middle of the night, Eldred woke up to find himself being dragged out of the hotel by his Pokemon (which he fortunately always kept out of their Pokeballs). The hotel was up in flames. Eldred himself only had minor burns, and his Pokemon were both injured, but he was alive...the rest of the troupe died. Everyone he was ever close to was gone.

For the next few months, he fell into despair, getting close to suicide at times. It took him nearly a year to break out of it, with a new goal in life. He would do the Pokemon Trainer Challenge. He wasn't sure how he came to this idea, but he had two Pokemon and nothing better to do, so he started on his quest, with only his Pokemon, his clothes, and all the money he got from the hotel for his loss. Since it was a new beginning for him, he left Johto and went to Furoh, knowing some of the greatest pokemon trainers to ever battle had moved there.
