Metal is hands down my favorite genre of music EVER

Ahh, metal. I was raised on my dad's cassettes - early Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc. I kinda stopped listening to it during my middle school years, but started listening to metal again when I started high school and heard Iron Man. It took some time to fully come into it, but once I did it was wonderful. I've considered myself a passionate metalhead for about five years now and am always discovering something new and great to listen to.
My top five subgenres are folk, power, thrash, death, and black metal, though of course I don't limit myself to those. A few of my top bands/tracks, in no particular order: 3 Inches of Blood - 4,000 Torches - Metal (just got my 3IoB shirt today!)
