Part of the appeal of the Pokémon series is raising a powerful team from scratch to defeat other Trainers, human and NPC alike; the addition of breeding, natures, IVs/EVs, and characteristics have given players even more of an opportunity for strategy in competitive play.

I always use my favourites. Problem is, nearly all my faves are UU, and I'm too lazy to IV breed, and in some cases in EV train, which is kinda crucial if you plan on playing competitvly with a UU team. I could switch to a more OU team, but to be honest I'd rather lose with my faves than win with Pokemon I don't really like.

I agree with flamer, tho Im more of a breeder than a trainer, I love to collect and I do sometimes IV breed and sometimes EV train, depending on the case and the pkmn, or if a friend made me a special request, but usually I just use my team in the game and rarely to fight, still I try to make them ready for anything.

ive tried it about 4 to 7 times, but i rarely even do it. :/
im just not that type ofperson who spends too much time breeding and doing EV this, IV that, Stats this, Happines that, yata yata yata. i thin it akes a bit too long, so i just go with my favorites for the most part. --------------------     |

Theres also the thing that it sometimes makes the game so technichal that it looses appeal and the fun.

Mmmmh, never really bothered. I just tried to pass the game with my faves, although I still try to make a relatively balanced team along the game to beat Elite Four. But no IV breeding, EV training and the likes. I just go with what I get, train my faves and hope for the best. ^^

for in-game, anything's good, but for friendplaying,i use competitive teams, but i base them around pokemons i like, for example, i like both scizor and tyranitar (and garchomp to an extent), so right now, i am making a sandstorm team.
i also love deoxys and darkrai. my charizard needs a team tho... -------------------- The One and Only  Viral       you are compelled to poke them. |

Fo the games, I typicaly only have one pokemon I own everything with.
In batteling? Trading all of my pwnage pokemon over! On my diamond I have: Luxray, swampert, charizard, persian, gardeviour and a eevee. All level hundies and not to bag in the big ring. -------------------- One of these days I'll get around to posting my art blog. I DON'T have a gender. It, Ze, they, or Jay(my nickname) please. |

I've tried a few times, but usually givin up after the first one. I have a Gengar, Gyrados, and Mantine I doubt I'll use much.
