Camille's Pokemon

Name
Camille Badger

Alias
Cam

Age
16

Hometown
Cocnoa Village, the Oblivia Region

Appearance
Of a fair complexion, Camille is pale without a darker hue to her skin. More prone to being burned by the sun than baked to a comfortable tan hue, her younger years of running around in a tank-top and jean shorts have left their mark in the freckles on her shoulders, arms, and legs. There is a reasonable dusting of freckles across her nose as well, giving the dark-haired girl a frustratingly adolescent appearance. Well, frustrating to herself, at least. Cam stands a bit on the short side at 5 feet 4 inches, causing her to often attempt to draw herself up as if to compensate for the lack of height.

Her hair is a dark brown hue and cascades in curly, chocolate waves to the middle of her back. At least, it would if she let it grow out: nowadays she wears it cut short, often at her jawline to make it easier for travel. 'Just slap a cap and go' is one of her favorite mottos. Her eyes are the cause of her freckles, being a lighter green hue. They are often alive with laughter or deep in thought, as her mood has a tendency of swinging between the two emotions.

Her clothes vary between worn green shorts and a normal lighter green tank-top when it is fine weather and long, darker cargo pants with a maroon hooded jacket and cap to match when the skies take a turn for the worse, both outfits seldom not clean and void of wrinkles. These outfits include a sort of charm necklace that is always around her neck, a simple leather collar with a small black river stone worn smooth by years of erosion.

Her scars include a gash along her left thumb where she cut it as a child on accident, long faded into a normal thing in her life. Another, more recent scar is one along her right calf, a longer slash about half the length of her forearm, obtained from when she was eleven and took a nasty tumble out of a tree.

Personality
In a summary - bright. Flickering, cheerful, bright, like a flame. And much like a flame Camille has seemingly boundless energy. Yet, at the same time, the young woman seems to be gentle - fragile, almost. Like a single breath of wind could blow her away.

At least, that is the first impression.

In truth, Camille has a fiery passion for battling - and winning. Because she grew up around Rangers, Cam is exceptionally gentle and kind to her Pokemon, treating them as equals and friends. But when in battle all signs of that bright girl disappear and another, foreign one emerges from the ashes. She has a calculated and careful air around her, and any advantage she has she will use, even going to far as to manipulate the battlefield around her. She believes in strategy almost as a religion, and will leap at the chance to extend her knowledge and various strategies for new members of her team. And maybe show off a little on the side.

Aside from this, Camille is reasonably social and enjoys the company of others, preferring it over flying solo. She is open and likes to smile and laugh at other's jokes. Upon first meeting, the girl prefers a firm handshake and a friendly greeting. She greatly dislikes jerks and asses, as can be expected, and tends to express her opinion rather strongly. Such strong whims and tendencies can make her irrational and impulsive at times. This can have negative consequence in dangerous, hanging-in-the-balance situations as Cam can run her mouth off seemingly without being aware of it. But once the knives come out, that tends to slap her back into the cold, strategic trainer she is.

Her fears include open expanses of water, spiders, and daggers. In all other things she shows a streak of reckless bravery, but include the deep ocean, spiders, or knives and Cam cannot be found.

Biography
Camille Badger grew up in a friendly community sheltered by the knowledge that the Area Ranger's residence was less than a five minute's run away. The village was small; everyone's grandparents had grown up together and there was little to do in the way of gossip or drama. Oh, of course there was the occasional scandal drifting along the breeze from the larger Tilt Village a ways away, but life in Cocnoa Village was relatively quiet and peaceful.

At the age of seven, Cam knew where she stood in the village. She practically led the little troop of the next generation as they galloped playfully in the forests and beaches, with the occasional trip to Dolce Island to play with the native pichu. Also at the age of seven was when her fears began to develop - her fear of knives originated from when she nicked her thumb with one trying to open a package. Her fear of spiders was only natural - how could one like them, anyway, how hairy and poisonous and many-legged they were... Ugh.

It was the fear of the ocean that shaped her life.

Throughout her youth, Cam would flat-out refuse to enter the ocean. Her friends slowly realized that her hasty excuses hid a deep-seated, primeval fear of water. They teased her about it, tried to shove her in, swam in the waters to show her that there was nothing to fear, but it was no use. She still would turn and run away. Eventually they let the dog lie, giving up on all efforts to cleanse her of her irrational phobia. They accepted it.

At least, most of them did.

There was a boy (whose name is concealed for personal reasons) who was constantly nagging and teasing Cam of her fear, to the point she simply couldn't take it anymore. To shut him up once and for all she jumped and leaped through the water, choking back her fear as the salt water had soaked into her shorts, choking back the sudden feeling that a sharpedo was going to magically appear out of nowhere and bite her leg off. In a blind panic she had scrambled back to the shore when the boy let out a scream. Arriving at the shore to find him collapsed in laughter. She furiously punched him none-too-gently and stalked off, vowing that she'd escape. One way or another, there was no way she could live out her life surrounded by so much... water... Her life would be hindered and crippled by her fear, now intensified by the experience of such panic.

It took her a good year to come to the conclusion that a Ranger's life was not for her, despite her father's urgings; it seemed much too dull and boring. Running around playing hero was all good and fine, but at the end of the day it always held true that you were pinned by your occupation, stuck in one area for the remainder of your life. Cam was, however, at a loss of what other options she had in the Oblivia region. By now she was fourteen and floundering for an option, any option.

That was when the mail slot clinked, and a magazine slid onto the welcome mat.

"I'll get it!" She had called, rising from the kitchen table to retrieve the magazine. It was addressed to a 'Mr. Kiyamoto', whoever that was, but Cam was instantly snagged by the magazine's title: Trainer's Weekly. It showed a picture of a dashing young man with his cap set backwards, a pikachu on his shoulders and a winning smile proclaiming in the text at his feet, "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" She snuck the magazine up to her room, silently apologizing to the man who would be cheated of his weekly issue, wherever he was. But she needed to know more.

By the time the opposite cover smacked the other, she was hooked. Cam knew, somehow, she'd be a trainer. But where could she go? Leaping up from her bed, the girl had thundered down the stairs and into her father's study, searching around the room for a minute until she found what she wanted: a tourist map of a region called Furoh.

Within another year the fifteen year old had her parent's reluctant permission, earned form gradual nagging and pleading, and began working to earn the fare for the ship to take her to the fabled Furoh region, soon to spring from the well-loved map into an actual world around her.

Upon arriving in Furoh her attention was drawn to shouting a ways down the street. Curiosity aroused, she jogged down to see what the commotion was about. As soon as she rounded the corner she was assaulted by a little orange figure that scurried up her figure and curled around her shoulders, a chicken leg clasped in its jaws. "Stop, thief!" The shouts were proclaiming, and without a second thought Cam acted on impulse and darted away.

The Charmander that had clambered up her figure followed her through the streets once she set it down, obviously having taken a liking to her. She finally realized that it wanted to be captured, and she obliged with evident pleasure.

And the rest is history.

The profile looks great.

One note though: While you have 20 levels to share between your starters, you cannot exceed 10 for either one. Therefore, please adjust the levels of your starting pokemon.
