It was getting repetitive a long time ago.
I admit that there are a lot of different story lines, but most of the episodes seem to focus of Team Rocket failing. -------------------- |

Yes. Its been going on for waaaaaaaaaay too long.
 I haven't really seen a lot of episodes between the Orange league and Battle Dimension (as it currently runs on TV) but already spotted two episodes in the DP-arc who could be complete copies of an episode in the first season: Ash finds a grass starter and wants to catch it, discovers he's the guardian of some secret village, Team Rocket makes some problems, Ash befriends grass starter, challenges it and takes it with him. What episode? It could easily mean either Bulbasaur's Secret Garden or the one where he catches Tirtwig. Ash and Pikachu encounters a cocky trainer with a Raichu. They challenge it and fails horribly. Ash considers evolving Pikachu, but as we all know that's never going to happen... so they train some more and pwn the Raichu. This could be either Electric Shock Showdown or meeting that guy who wanted the whole evolution line in DP. (Yeah I don't know the names of the recent episodes.) Not only that, but this episode even REFERS to Electric Shock Showdown (as its the same thunderstone)... It's been repetitive right from the start 'cause it's a show for kids? xP
Although even if the said repetitiveness is noticed too much, I still see improvement. Lots of it. Considering that you're seeing the rivals (and I mean the set rivals) more than back then in the first season. Team Rocket, even if sent flying in the air, I noticed that they aren't stealing Pokemon in some episodes... and/or Jessie is finally taking Pokemon Contests in a serious manner... she did win a ribbon after all. Yeah, even if it's repetitive, there's always room for improvement, which I can see clearly. It got repetitive a long time ago but that really doesn't stop me from watching it when it's on. I won't race to the tv to catch an episode though cause it takes way to long to get to the gym battles and quite frankly, the new voice actors are really weird. I've always thought about watching it subbed instead of on tv but I can't seem to find anywhere where the episodes are up for download... =(

I agree with what everyone else has been saying, that the series got repetitive a long time ago. I still watch now and then though, if there's nothing else on (and there usually isn't). I'll always like the first season most though because that was the season I watched when I was a kid.

I thought the first few seasons where fine, but they started to get bad lately...
I hate the new rival... PAUL. It's hard to believe someone would give away a pokemon that failed them ONCE. (Azurill?) Or torture one like that poor Chimchar... He's so creepy too, I just don't get him. I never really liked Dawn or May, But thats probably because Misty is more of a tomboy... Dawn and May are too girlie... Also i hate it how it's all about contests now... Kinda. The last few episodes were all about Dawn and May in a contest. I know, i have some problems with those girls.  The voice actors now are quite bad... They just don't have that special touch how they can make it easy to relate. It sounds too crummy. Especially Ash. The first thing I started noticing is how the girls meet ash and pikachu fried each of there bikes, its getting old...

Yeah, it is getting repetitive, but I kinda like it. xD
Although they could change a few things. Instead of a girl, they should in a guy! And they just need to give Brock what he wants. ut Croagunk makes me laugh. The contests, although I love them, are getting quite annoying, too. Dawn fails, she trains, she wins. Dawn wins, she's happy. Dawn trains like crazy. They even repeated the Charizard thing! Dawn's Mamoswine doesn't listen to her.

i saw that half why thought when they were with may but there was the season of pokemon WITHOUT ash {insert girl's name} or brock or that kid who took brock place for a season

me. i stoped watching at... advanced battle or master quest. i dont have cable so i cant even watch D\P or any of the other spin offs they have got going. isn't there a MD spin off? i might watch that but again i dont have cable.
i dont want to say this but i think its gone on to long as well.... the games have gone on for a long time too... and i dont realy like any of the 4th generation pokemon.... so *sigh*... its been a long time and its starting to get repetitive again. if they want to keep the vast majority of the older fans they might have to some up with somethin...... but all the D/P stuff is great for the younger kids. they haven't watched any of the old old old stuff. so its not realy repetitive for them... --------------------       i click back if on online. it really has gotten repetitive, same thing over and over: gym battles, some character gets sick with a fever (thats very annoying, like it cant just be a cold), new travel partner etc, the list goes on

It's all repetitive. They need to get a new main character. Drop Ash, Dawn, all of them and start new.
(And don't have gym leaders join in as travel buddies...)

I wish that pokemon spinoff series where they featured OTHER CHARACTERS lasted for more than a season. Wish I could see the adventures of Chrys and Gold, I think those are their names. OmO

The first season's the only one I'm really interested in, mostly because if you keep doing what THAT season already did, you're pretty much jumping the shark. The series with May was okay, but Dawn seriously makes me want to puke. She's so fake, just like it was said above. "Dawn-It's OK, we'll make it out through the power of friendship!" I mean, come on! Yeah, its repetetive. How can they fall for those disguises so often. I've seen them tricked by James just wearing a sweat band. Really? he puts on a sweat band and he becomes someone else?
