Return of the JD

J.D. leaves Sacred Heart due to an unfortunate occurrence with the Chief of Medicine at another hospital, giving him a much better position. He finally gets Dr Cox to say that they are friends, and get in a serious relationship with Elliot.
Turk finally gets into a stable and happy relationship with Carla, and with their two children, finally decides to move out of their apartment. He is also the Chief of Medicine
Dr Cox is the Chief of Medicine at Sacred Heart and is in a happy relationship with Jordan. Not much else can be said about him, as he is almost the same as before.
The Janitor is still a paranoid anti-social worker at Sacred Heart, but he has a wife and has started an unofficial hospital club.

J.D. is back from working at the new hospital, missing everyone (especially Turk). One of the first things he notices is that the Janitor is repeating his penny routine, and because J.D. obviously knows what happened, the hatred begins again.
Turk starts being a guide for surgical interns, but ends up as one himself due to a dare with Dr Cox. Dr Cox also becomes the guide for medical interns for the dare. Dr Kelso acts as the Chief of Medicine for this time.
Elliot, due to a tiny accident with her coffee, becomes a confused and lonely person again. She now wants to fit back in with the other doctors.

Ah, okay:

Christopher Turk, or Turk, is JD's best friend. They met each other in medical college and shared a dorm together. They often share a lot about their lives between each other, and the way they do it makes people have the opinion that they are in a homosexual relationship. They deny this, calling what they are in as a 'bromance', a strong friendship bond which appears to be a serious relationship.
Turk is enthusiastic and shows off often, usually giving a dance when he wins something or gets something that someone else doesn't know. When necessary, he can be very compassionate, empathetic and serious. This causes mixed reactions.
Turk is the Head of Surgery, managing all the other surgeons. He is trusted by many of his colleagues and despised by Dr Cox. He is also married to Carla, the head nurse.

Torn between Cox, Elliot, or creating a long-term psych ward patient. Lesse... Cox is one of my feheheHEvorite characters because I just love the smarmy wiseacre archetype, I really identify with Elliot, and I could kill two birds with one stone by exercising my creativity and playing around with situational scenarios for upcoming novels with a psych ward character who...

Knowledge of 'Scrubs': medium/medium-high (my TV never made the digital transition, so the move to ABC and every episode after Jennifer Dylan's birth are lost on me)

Appearance: 39 years old, 5'5", 163 lbs. Black hair, brown eyes. Wears either a hospital gown or all black (everything black- shirt, pants, shoes, socks, AND underwear) and ALWAYS wears either a surgical mask, a paper sanitary mask, or an anti-dusk mask like those used by construction workers and those in the sanitation industry. Has several noticeable scars of various ages on his body, including three small, thin scars right below his hairline and a pair of diamond shaped marks on the back and palm of his right hand.
Personality: Overall he's usually calm, collected, with a serious and hardy mindset that looks out for number one. He'll often spend his time outside the Psych Ward and wandering around the hospital, looking for objects that he might be able to get some benefit out of or ways he can escape Sacred Heart to freedom. He has yet to succeed in get more than ten blocks away, though, and every night before lights out his room is searched and the "loot of the day" is uncovered (along with all the medicine he should have taken that day) and taken away from him. However, nothing bad ever does anything more than annoy him, and nobody has every seen him angry, not even that one time when he threatened to hurt an intern. His emotions always seems to run on dead neutral, except in cases where he achieves or is close to achieving his goals of freedom and/or "going home", or he believes one of the former is happening.

It's obvious at first glance that he's not normal mentally, and it soon becomes obvious that he's deeply lost in a world of delusions. When addressed by his real name, he never responds, only answering if you call him Rosoku- which is Japanese for "candle", oddly enough. He also thinks he's a ninja with the ability to use magic- he explains his lack of said magic as being the fault of "this lousy backwards world and its lack of magical power"- and is quite skilled at stealth. His stealth skills are actually on par with or perhaps even better than those of The Janitor, who he considers to be both a semi-reliable ally and a dependable supplier of resources, especially masks. To those who view "Rosoku" from his real life point of view, they may see a friendship between him and The Janitor, though he'll deny it and may scold the implicator because "I would not waste my time on something so fleeting". However, The Janitor is the only person at Sacred Heart that he has ever trusted and shown signs of actually liking. He's also willing to put himself into situations that will cause himself harm without hesitation, since he also believes he's incapable of feeling any sort of physical sensations. Rumors used to go around among the interns that he claims he made some sort of "afterlife trade" to bring this about, but he staunchly denies this now and the senior staff works to keep the interns from encouraging his delusions.
Biography: Four years ago, an Asian man dressed all in black wearing a paper sanitary mask came in with his right hand pierced clean though by a knife of some sort, asking for medical treatment. He had no money or identification on him, but said his name was Rosuku Kurosawa, that he was somehow a long way from home and was only looking to have the wound treated treated before he worked to find his way back, and that the wound didn't hurt at all because he was capable of feeling any sort of physical sensation. He was treated for his injury, then placed in the Psych Ward immediately. After a long search, it was found that his his real name was Lee Kawashita, he was an unmarried taxi driver from Manhattan, and he had no living immediate relatives or legal guardians. When this information was presented before him, he asserted that he was a ninja mage from a place called Merit City and he needed to be released so he could find a way to return as soon as possible. Mr. Kawashita's file was marked as long-term at that point.

In addition to his persistent delusions and his desire and unpredictable, yet regular attempts to escape the facility, the hospital has also found he's very self-centered and a kleptomaniac. He's got a penchant for stealing items that are technology based, and the hospital still wonders about that time a few of its more complicated yet mobile machines ended up gutted on the roof with several of their parts missing. They also wonder if one of the staff members is letting him out of his room in the mornings, though he actually lets himself out. It's one of the few things The Janitor has been falsely accused of, though Rosoku does have a sort of working relationship with him, agreeing to do occasional favors for him or trade stolen items with him in exchange for anti-dust masks, various items from the lost and found, or even an extra serving of jello. Though their relationship gets strained at times, like when those machines ended up gutted on the roof and The Janitor had to haul them all downstairs and take them apart to evaluate the damage. But on one of the few times he actually spoke with his psychiatrist, he said, "Allies are rare treasures. I only had three back in Merit City, and I only have one here."

Three years ago, one of the interns stumbled across Kawashita's file and became both sympathetic and curious. She began visiting him on a regular basis and attempting to engage him in conversation, asking him what his life was like and what it was like not to feel anything. Suspicious of her at first, he eventually warmed up to her, leading to the telling of many new details about his delusions which were adding into his file- and into the interns' gossip pool. His guard down to its lowest point, he let slip the biggest secret about his delusion: the reason he was incapable of physical sensations was because he died and then willingly gave it up when someone made him an offer for the chance to come back to life. The intern kept his secret with utmost care... right until the point where she let it slip while drunk at another intern's birthday party. It spread like wildfire around the hospital until it made its way back to Rosoku's ears, and that's how the incident started. Having been betrayed by someone he'd bared his soul to, he confronted the intern and took her hostage, threatening to hurt her unless his file was destroyed and he was allowed safe passage out of Sacred Heart and into freedom. He never expected his hostage to be a practitioner of Freestyle Sambo, though. She used her skills to free herself and knock him unconscious, then resigned from her job a few days later. Since then, the hospital has had a strict policy of preventing the encouragement of Lee's delusions.

Despite all he's been through, and the fact that he continues to live in Sacred Heart's Psych Ward, Rosoku still believes that it's all just a minor setback and he will find some way to return to Merit City. Exactly how is unknown, and seems incredibly unlikely, since his file indicates that he left Merit City in the year 2137.

Also, if anyone who comes in wants to bring that female intern in Rosoku's biography (skilled practitioner of Freestyle Sambo, helps fill in blank spots in patient files AND keep everyone in the rumor mill filled in, quit her job at Sacred Heart three years ago) back to Sacred Heart, I grant full permission.

@BrainpanSonata: You know, Lassie, the fact that you have any interest in this RP just increases with the post of your application. The only reason that you were accepted was that you actually did reply. Of course, since you are already a girl, I have nothing to go by but dogs names, a trademark of my - I mean, Dr Cox's - rants. *Exits with shoulder bump*

Dr Cox is also my favourite Scrubs character, but I chose JD because I want to be on the receiving end of his rants.

Bob Kelso was the Chief of Medicine for the first seven years of JD's work at Sacred Heart (Years can also be regarded as seasons). He has been called a cruel and heartless man, but that is only a rouse to hide his sweet and compassionate side.
Dr Kelso was also on bitter terms with Dr Cox, where they fought often. In the rare case, Dr Kelso helped Dr Cox, but only in small ways. He calls Turk 'Turkleton', thinking that Turk's full name is 'Turk Turkleton', and also treats the hospital attorney, Ted, as a servant.
When Dr Kelso retired, he showed his sweet and compassionate side, but only because he went to the hospital cafe every day for muffins. He has also revealed his interest in prostitutes, and late in the eighth season, decided to return as a doctor in his own practice.

Question: Is there a certain layout to Sacred Heart, like the offices are on a certain floor, cardiology or whatever on a different floor, cafeteria on another and so on...or do we just make it up as we go along?

No, there is apparently no layout to Sacred Heart hospital on the internet, so I suggest that you say something along the lines of 'Going to cardiology' when traveling to another part of the hospital.

@Dexter- I remember a (semi?) recurring joke Dr. Kelso has made...
Q: What has two thumbs and doesn't give a cr**?

And I second the whole "Have Fun" thing, with fond memories of the Halloween episode.

Kelso bans costumes becuase he supposedly hates Halloween, guy in gorilla costume shows up and causes some havoc, at end of episode we see Kelso smiling and wearing a pair of gorilla costume gloves as he drives home.

@Warden- Wait... there's no Sadsack Ted on the cast list? Will the woobie be an NPC?

Anyone who is listed to be played by people is a major character, whereas any other characters in the show are NPCs. You can have them act any way you wish, as long as they follow what they would do in the show.

Oooh, goodie goodie. I have the feeling that Ted would be so scared of Rosoku that he'd constantly try to hide whenever Rosoku's around, to his minor amusement. And also, Rosoku would always call him Mr. Hallinan or Mayor Hallinan or Colin because of his delusions, no matter who corrects him.

Not that he's intentionally playing mind games with Ted. It's just that to him, Ted's appearance and his fear of him are somehow connected to some unknown tidbits from his delusional world of Merit City.

I'm glad I decided to go with the whole "what if a Psych Ward patient thinks he's this character from a novel I haven't yet written" idea. I get to play around with my characters out of context even before they hit the page in context, which helps me further hash out their personality. Plus it's loads of fun. Though you'd better expect Rosoku/Lee to occasionally make references to things that don't make sense, like him assuring Ted that he's "on a mission to stop Jargix" and that Ted "won't have to remain in Jargix's pocket for long".

Also, warning in advance, any blind brunette 20something female that gets introduced into the plot is also going to produce a positive reaction from him, and a strong one at that. One of the three allies he mentioned having back in Merit City matches this description. Anyone who would remind him of his second ally is infeasible in appearing at all (considering how I wrote said ally's flaw, there's no way anyone would actually remind him of the person on looks alone), and the third... is of average appearance, so the hospital might have a few different similar-looking people in and out through the months without any reaction from him. But Rosoku/Lee would definitely have mixed feelings about anyone who describes themselves as an agent or manager.

Oh, dear. I just remembered The Todd... I think Rosoku might be a little scared of him, actually.
