Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ Bug and Errors _ I spotted something wrong on ______ page., Errors, typos, etc.

Posted by: Tyranisaur Jul 24 2010, 02:24 PM

I'm aware that the help page recently was updated, and I took a peak into it to see the result.

The Users Online page is updated every 5 minutes at xx:03, xx:08, xx:13, etc.

That is incorrect, because it's now updating every xx:x0 and xx:x5

I also suggest that this thread can be used by others who find anything that is not correct.

Posted by: Black Ice Jul 24 2010, 05:55 PM

http://gpxplus.net/help#faqs
Likelihood and relative are still misspelled.

http://gpxplus.net/help#pc
The last answer doesn't even answer the question. The default is 600 Pokemon, with up to 960 total after buying 15 extra boxes.

Posted by: Icicle Jul 24 2010, 05:58 PM

Moved to the right section, and will pin. No need for possible duplicate threads for the same errors.

Posted by: Mommy Dearest Jul 24 2010, 06:28 PM

Under miscellaneous items: Heart Scales, Flame Orbs, and Focus Slashes are only found... Should be Focus Sashes

Under FAQ
I completed an Achievement, but it still isn't unlocked!
You must click the link which says "Click here to check for and unlock new achievements!" before it will unlock for you. --> I think I should have clarified it to this:
I completed an Achievement, but it still isn't unlocked!
You must click the link under the Achievement Tab in your Poketch which says "Click here to check for and unlock new achievements!" before it will unlock for you.

Also:

Under the daycare question: Does one of Pokémon belong to a No-Egg group? There's a missing article. It should be: Does one of the Pokémon belong to a No-Egg group?

FAQ should include a mystery counter question.

Actually, I'll search through all of the comments and posts made since the update and just send you the specific sections with fixes, if that's all right. *hangs head in shame*

This isn't too big, but I see this error on the Times section of the help page:

Pokémon eggs that have been in the Shelter for at least 36 hours, and hatched Pok&ecute;mon that have been in the Shelter for 72 hours are completely deleted from the site every half hour starting at 12:21 AM.

The bolded is a typo, it seems.

Posted by: Rofl Copter Jul 24 2010, 08:44 PM

@ Lady: Yeah, the &ecute is missing an a. I think it should be Pokémon

Posted by: Arceus thrasher Jul 24 2010, 10:34 PM

Thunder Badge Plus: Have all of Lt. Surge's rematch Pokémon, at level 100, in your party. Requires the Thunder Badge. (Raichu, Manectric, Magnezone, Electrode, Pachirisu, Electevire)

Electevire should be Electivire.

Soul Badge Plus: Have all of Janine's rematch Pokémon, at level 100, in your party. Requires the Soul Badge. (Crobat, Toxicroak, Weezing, Drapion, Ariados, Venemoth)

Venemoth should be Venomoth.

Also, for the sake of nitpicking, there are a lot of achievements that differ between how "pokémon" is spelled. Some have e, and others have é.

Posted by: Retheba Jul 25 2010, 08:46 AM

Help page, Legendaries&Novelties:

[...]When you click on it, you will be rewarded with a Manaphy Egg, Missigno. Egg or, in the case of Chests[...]

Missed 'n' - should be Missingno.

Posted by: Retrospect Jul 25 2010, 10:28 AM

Under the Times tab on the Help page:
"The daily server filesystem and database backup starts at 3:30 AM. At some point thereafter, the database is backed up during which it is locked, to preserve its consistency, during which the site would consequently be unaccessible."

Should be inaccessible.

Some pokémon come back from the walker with a Tiny Mushroom. Shouldn't it be "Thin Mushroom?" Frankly, I was a little confused when I was going after the Mycologist achievement to begin with...

Posted by: MisterGrieves Jul 25 2010, 08:34 PM

Edit: Nevermind, missed the point of a post.

Posted by: Rainbow Sea Monkey Jul 25 2010, 10:09 PM

Not that this is a big deal or anything, but the description for a Legendary Voucher is "A voucher for obtaining an a legendary Pokémon. Any is allowed, other than Arceus."

The "an" part is unnecessary.

No i think it shouldn't be "thin" instead of "tiny", because it is reffering to it's size. Also, as opposite in orignal games (not sure, but i think it is on GPX+ too) is a Big mushroom (also reffering to it's size).

Posted by: Tsukichi Jul 26 2010, 08:22 AM

But if you look at the items, the "tiny" one isn't tiny at all. It's thin. :<

Posted by: Retrospect Jul 26 2010, 11:47 AM

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Tinymushroom#TinyMushroom

It's pulled from the game as is. Both the item and the related achievement spell it correctly (without a space). There's no error and no reason to change it.

EDIT: Ah, sorry I don't automatically pair the walker with accessories and since no one had mentioned that it was the accessory, I was confused.

Posted by: Tyranisaur Jul 26 2010, 11:56 AM

http://serebii.net/diamondpearl/accessories.shtml

If you scroll down that list you will see a thick and thin murshroom. AT said the point is the item from the walker, not the valuable item.

In the VS Seeker tab, when you click on the 'View my past battles.' and the box opens up with your past battles, the 'Instructions:' part says either 'Balanced', 'Defencive', or 'Offencive'.

'Defencive' should be 'Defensive' and 'Offencive' should be 'Offensive'. cat.gif

Starting now, the number of shelter grabs that a Shelter Pass provides will be affected by how many Pokemon you interact with. Proper berry interactions will also affect this, to a much greater degree than improper berry interactions, yup yup.

^^From the post here. However, in the shop in the description for the shelter pass:
QUOTE
A special pass for the Shelter that allows you to adopt, per day, an additional four Pokémon or Eggs from the Shelter.

Is this wrong or am I not understanding Big Bidoof's post? dumblook.gif

I believe those are the correct British English spellings, which are used for a majority (all?) of words that differ between American and British spellings.

EDIT: Yet Google suggests that, although "offence" and "defence" are correct BrE, "offencive" and "defencive" are incorrect. So I dunno :/

Posted by: Tsukichi Jul 28 2010, 02:31 AM

They ARE incorrect.
Not just Google, any dictionary will tell you that, actually ^-^

Once you put the "-ive", it HAS TO BE with an s, no matter whether it's British or American spelling. wink.gif

Very minor error, but it bugs me nonetheless.

For the Destiny Knot:

"A beautiful red knot that bonds two compatible Daycare Pokémon together faster Limited to 1 per customer."

There's a period missing after "faster".

Posted by: Inarikins Jul 28 2010, 01:50 PM

In the help section, under the Pokemon tab, 'Shiny Pokemon' header:

While they aren't nearly as rares as they are in Pokémon games, they are still extremely rare.

Should be 'rare' and not 'rares'

In the dex -

Fossil Aerodactyl - Fossil Fossil Pokémon. Is it supposed to be like that?

Posted by: Kitzen Aug 2 2010, 10:49 PM

I'm looking through the lab right now and I noticed one of the descriptions:

"An gold egg with two black stripes running across it. It makes a buzzing noise sometimes."

It should be 'A gold egg...' ^_^.gif

Well Aerodactyl's normal Dex entry says "Fossil Pokémon". Fossil Aerodactyl just follows the trend of fossil pokemon by adding "Fossil" in front of the pokemon type. (So Fossil Kabuto is a Fossil Shellfish Pokémon.)

I will, however, agree that the repetition is a little awkward. :/

Just me nitpicking but..
On any dex entry thats not fossilized, hover over the greyed out image. No fossil. right?
Hover over a corruption orb now. There's no . at the end..

And maybe for ones that are summonable put "This Pokemon is Summonable." instead of just "Summonable" (again with no . grin.gif)

Pokemon names are in all caps in these two descriptions:

BAGON harbours a never-ending dream of one day soaring high among the clouds. As if trying to dispel its frustration over its inability to fly, this Pokémon slams its hard head against huge rocks and shatters them into pebbles.

CATERPIE has a voracious appetite. It can devour leaves bigger than its body right before your eyes. From its antenna, this Pokémon releases a terrifically strong odour.

An error occured: No new achievements unlocked - please try again later.

In this message, "occurred" needs a second "r." You could also try using "An error has occurred:" although it's not completely necessary. Same with the message informing you you don't have any more opportunities to check today.

Edit: Another error on Fossil Armaldo's entry-its name is in all Caps.

Edit2: The PC page says to "Drag&Drop;" shouldn't it have some spaces? ("Drag & Drop")

It needs a space. cat.gif

Also, on my Shiny Skarmory viewing page, the sprite doesn't show up.

But The Eggs No Longer Move.

This. And was there ever a replacement for that? They said they were planning to give Pokemon experience in some other way, but if they made an update/post about it, I didn't see it. If I remember correctly, I think they said they did it to cut down on lag, but idk, it doesn't really make sense to me - Pokemon gain experience in the daycare in the actual games, so, not doing it here seems kinda... Weird. I don't know if it would help if they did the same thing they did with the Pokewalker, where the experience/level change would only be apparent once you removed the Pokemon from daycare...?

Don't double post. Use the edit button provided for you.

The training sessions in the Vs. Seeker provide experience for pokemon. Also, this is just for pointing out typos. If you have other issues, discuss them in the proper forum.

Repels, drinks, and Antidotes may be purchased in the Shop. Heart Scales, Flame Orbs, and Focus Slashes are only found randomly around the Site, randomly when hatching eggs, and in the Underground.

You can buy Flame Orbs, Heart Scales and Focus Sashes in the Back-room...

So I guess that could be updated in the Help page under Shop Items? sealed.gif

Well, Flame Orbs, Heart Scales, and Focus Sashes are in the Back Room because someone that found them around the site, etc., sold them to the shop.

I think on the Help page it's talking about just the regular shop, since you have to buy the Secret Key in order to get access to the Back Room.

So then I think it wouldn't need to be changed?

Posted by: Immersion Aug 27 2010, 12:09 PM

Yes, but it doesn't say anything of the sort of buying them from the shop. The backroom is still considered part of the shop. :|

On the Help page, under "Shops, Items, and Points", the "Dress-up Accessories" section is listed twice. Near the top, it says "Dress-up Accessories". Five list items down, the same section is listed again as "Accessories", but with a far shorter description of the same thing.

Posted by: Tequila Mockingbird Sep 23 2010, 03:14 PM

Okay. I'm not sure if this is a typo or a general problem I should be making a thread for (it's not really important hence me not wanting to make a huge ol' thread 'bout it). But I've noticed something on the "timeline" thing of pokemon gained from an exploration.

Half of the pokemon gained say "Obtained from Explorations" whilst the other half don't. They just say "Obtained" and then the date and time. Why do half/half and not just one or the other?...or is there something I missed.....>___>;;

My Celebi was one of the first 10 obtained Celebis..did it having been gotten earlier have to do with this? Perhaps was it changed to exlude the "from explorations" part later on.

I know this isn't really important...but it bothers the heck out of me :<

My party was without a legendary, or a novelty, when i was talking on the phone with a friend (real life, and she's in the site too), and she informed me of an easter buneary egg in the shelter.
she kept clicking and checking on it constantly for me, but i just didn't see it, no matter what.
it even turned out that she had 1 more pokemon in the pokemon-eggs number of the shelter. 1 more than me the whole conversation. and it didnt happen once. it happened twice.
I REALY didnt hav any novelty or legendary in my party, and im not the type who can hatch a 10k maturity egg within 24 hours, so i don't understand why i can't adopt easter buneary eggs?
does it have anything to do with the fact that i adopted 2 easter bunearies from the safari 2 weeks before the mentioned occuring? please explain, because i don't uderstand why i can't ever see easter bunearies.

(oh, and sorry for my bad english and grammer)

No idea if it just started doing this or not (I've only just found them), but the image for the item "Iron Balls" (Halloween exploration) doesn't seem to exist. Not a major issue, but it would be nice to see the sprite.

I saw the image just fine when I was on the exploration. Possibly was a glitch on your end? Did you try clearing your cache or using ctrl+f5?

Legendary/Novelty Egg Limit
In the interests of fairness, since Legendary and Novelty eggs are both fairly hard to come by, all users are limited to three unhatched Legendary and Novelty eggs in their party at any given time. If you hit this limit, you will be unable to acquire them by most means.

Also, in order to curb hoarding, you will only be able to claim a maximum of two Legendary and Novelty eggs or Pokémon in total from either the Lab or the Shelter, excluding ones you Summon yourself, per day, and furthermore, if you have obtained more than a two (with three specific exceptions, being Deoxys and three novelties that have lots of forms) of a Legendary or Novelty from either the Shelter or the Lab, you will be unable to find that Pokémon in the Shelter. Note that Pokémon that you summon yourself do not count against this limit.
Meaning you can only own 2 Easter Buneary at a time unless you breed them yourself. To fix this, release one of your Buneary and you will be able to see them in the Shelter again.

Yes, when you have an ellipses it's supposed to be three periods.

On the Pokedex page for Tentacruel, it says it evolves from both Tentacool and "Valententacool" (which is both incorrect and spelled wrong).

Probably related, the Pokedex page for Valentacruel has no "Evolves From" information.

On the Help Page, FAQ tab, there's a listing for the Mystery Counter. That should probably either be removed or, if the counter is going to be used for other things, updated to say something about "when it's active."

Similarly, Storm Badge Plus lists "Primape", not Primeape.

And Pokémon is spelled without the accent in the descriptions of these achievements:
Superstar, Weakest Link, Legendary Seeker, Legendary Hunter, Legendary Collector, Novelty Seeker, Novelty Hunter, Novelty Collector, Kanto Master, Johto Master, Hoenn Master, Sinnoh Master, Pokedex Master, Fashion Expert, What's Up, Doc?, Corrupter, Lucky, Hoarder, Selective Hoarder, O Canada, Star-Spangled Banner, Newbie Hatcher, Novice Hatcher, Expert Hatcher, Master Hatcher, Newbie Breeder, Novice Breeder, Expert Breeder, Master Breeder, Newbie Trainer, Novice Trainer, Expert Trainer, Master Trainer, Newbie Feeder, Novice Feeder, Expert Feeder, Master Breeder and Open-Hearted. And in the name of Pass the Pokemon, Pokemon Breeder, Pokemon Trainer and arguably Pokemonarchy.

Pokédex is spelled wrong in the descriptions of these achievements:
Kanto Master, Johto Master, Hoenn Master, Sinnoh Master, Pokedex Master

I'm also positive that a Pokédex entry had "Pokéballs" but I can't remember which one.

The OS you're using has no effect on anything. It's the browser that you're using that matters.

For the record, it works fine in Firefox 3.6.12, Opera 10.63, Chrome 7.0.517.44, and Internet Explorer 64-bit 9.0.7930.16406 (beta).

Er, that's not entirely true. I have repeatedly compared websites using different OS but the same exact browser and there are, indeed, differences between Linux (or at the very least Ubuntu) and Windows XP/Vista/7. I'm using Firefox 3.6.9 on XP right now and the layout is OK, but 3.6.10 (at least) on Ubuntu shows the overlap.

Noticed this yesterday and am noticing it now. In the DW, there seems to be a weird error involving "# different species in the Dream World" Whenever # shows 11, 12 or 13, only 10 different species appear. That is to say, 10 different eggs. I believe I have seen it display more than that, but I could be wrong. The system is still new and there isn't any apparent limit on how many eggs appear at once. But again, could be wrong.

Defense

For the first one (I'm being nitpicky, I only saw the second and decided to note the first as well o/ ) at the very end, it should be "boss's" or "boss'". You don't have multiple bosses, but the notes do belong to the boss.

I noticed this as well, and it is the same on Mebukijika's other formes; in fact, Hihidaruma and Cherrim are the same way, too. Then again, since most Pokemon that have alternate formes have no evolutions, I'm sure it was just easier to put the forme changes in place of evolutions.
Also, on Shikijika's entry, it says it evolves to "Spring form" etc. instead of "Mebukijika" or "Mebukijika [Spring]" etc. In contrast, the entries for Darumakka and Cherubi give the names of their evolved forms (without the forme notation).
However, I found a worse error on Mebukijika's Spring Forme dex entry: all of its listed forme changes claim that the weather has to be rain - its other 3 formes list the requirements as rain for spring, sunny for summer, windy for fall, and snow for winter.

These should be updated in the FAQ's.

"How many types of Pokémon are there in total?
At the time of writing, there are over 600 750 Pokémon in total. 493 649 from the original games, plus alternate forms for certain ones (Unown, Rotom, Shellos, etc.), and a handful of Novelty Pokémon we have created ourselves."

"When will Black/White Pokémon be added to the site?
They will be available whenever the egg sprites are made. Don't ask when that'll happen. We don't know either."

^That one can be removed altogether since the eggs are now available.

--

These should be updated in the Legendaries & Novelties section.

"How many Legendary/Novelty Pokémon are there in total?
With respect to Legendary Pokémon, there are 39 53 in total, every single one from all four five generations of Pokémon games, as well as the alternate forms for Giratina and Shaymin introduced in Pokémon Platinum. Arceus' alternate forms are not available.
There is a much larger number, however, of Novelties, and we are constantly adding new ones as well for various occasions and different site features."

"Monthly Events
A handful of times per month, an event is conducted during which both Legendary and Novelty Eggs are handed out at random to a specific number of members. You don't need to do anything, or sign up anywhere to participate in these events - on the day of the event, which will be announced ahead of time on the forums, you simply need to have an empty slot in your party, and you'll have a chance of receiving that day's Event Egg. Note that as of September 2010, this method has been discontinued and replaced by another system, outlined below.

^Is there any need in having this paragraph anymore?

--

The following should be added to the Account Upgrades in the Shops, Items & Points section.

Extra PC Box Plus: Allows you to store an additional 24 Pokémon in your PC. Can only be obtained once all 15 Extra PC Boxes have been purchased.

--

This following should be updated in the PC section.

"How many Pokémon can I store in the PC?
By default, you have 25 boxes with each capable of holding 24 Pokémon each. This means you may store up to 600 Pokémon without any upgrades. You may also purchase an additional 15 25 boxes from the Shop, allowing you to store up to 960 1200 Pokémon.

--

A paragraph on the Mobile Walker should be added to the Pokétch section. I can't use it so I don't know what to write about it.

--

The following should be updated in the Pokémon section.

"Shiny Pokémon
Just like in Pokémon games after the First Generation, there are "shiny" forms for every Pokémon in GPXPlus as well. While they aren't nearly as rares rare as they are in Pokémon games, they are still extremely rare."

I've placed the fire so the dew drop is obvious placed by the tip of his tail.

Needing a friend, Task 4 says you need aipom, but when you go to task five, aipom is refereed to as abipom, this would make more sense if you had to evolve aipom, but it does not.

Since the item is now called Eviolite instead of Evolution's Wonder, Pokemon shouldn't say that to evolve them, it requires "Evolution's Wonder".

Task six, second paragraph on the Three Singing Chatot exploration. I bolded the sentence fragment in question.

It did not block out the sound of gears turning and clanking, and old metal screeched as, you presumed, the doors opened. And when you opened the, you were pleased to discover they had. And you were further overjoyed when you spotted a glittering piece lying right inside the door. You stepped forward and lent down. When you touched it, you jerked away quickly, gaining a small static shock, but when you reached for it again it did not hurt you.

Achievement: Rainbow Badge Plus
"Have all of Erika's rematch Pokémon, at level 100, in your party. Requires the Rainbow Badge. (Vileplume, Clefable, Tangela, Dewgong, Victreebel, Exeggutor)"

First of all, there are SEVEN Pokemon listed there. Second, the team is wrong. Erika's HGSS team (which is the one I assume you're using) is Jumpluff, Victreebel, Bellossom, Shiftry, Roserade, and Tangrowth.

For some reason, the staff decided to use one of her Stadium teams instead of the HG/SS one.

Deoxys' stats in the Dex are all screwy. The in-game Pokedex says they all have the same height and weight, but they're all over the place here (the Defense Forme is 100m tall?)

If, when one player has already selected their action, a player takes over five minutes to make a move, an appropriate action will be automagically chosen for them, within a certain margin of error. I think I remember a long time ago they changed something in the way exp was calculated and it caused some pokemon to lose a level. Your gabite is from 2009 - I don't remember when they made this change exactly, but I would guess that you evolved your gible at level 24, and then it dropped a level. I'm guessing.
