I got a REALLY good IVed pokemon, and I don't want anything standing in the way of it getting in. So I'm wondering, the 24-hour thing is only after it's hatched, right? Hatched, then it starts? I just want to be safe. I've wondered this before as well.

Yup. Twenty-four hours after it is hatched. I saw your post in the other thread, and you said you hatched it just after reset today, so you're good to go.
