In my case, I've hatched 9 mudkip eggs in hopes of getting a female to breed.
All have been male. What's the longest it's taken you to get the gender you wanted, either for breeding or special evolutions? --------------------  |    It is pitch black. I had to go through 10-15 Togepi to get another female.

I'm still waiting on a female eevee. I know it may take a while but I was hoping for one anyway. So far six and no girl. It's the only one I really want a specific gender for at the moment.

I'm very gender specific. I really dislike getting male Pokemon that look like they should be female. D8

i've hatched 3 pichu, working on the fourth

I must admit that I strongly prefer male nearly for all Pokemon that are available; even my Milotic has to be male (I know most people will slap me for that, but that's my personal preference.) or I just cannot accept it. My first Milotic in Ruby was male and now I don't want it in female. Luckily apart from my first Feebas and the female Totodile I got I have everything that I really wanted with the 'correct' gender so far so two is my highest number of tries at the moment...I am sure that it'll change in the future though, usually I am quite unlucky and have more females than males in my eggs when I breed Pokemon in real life.

I had to get two male Dratini and Totodile before getting a female of either. I have two Riolu/Lucario and both are male, so I'm still striving to get a female. Same for Togepi. I have four Eevees, which admittedly isn't much, but all of them are male as well, so I'm still striving for a girl. Luckily I managed to get a female Drifloon on the first try. I'm also hoping to get a female Chikoirta, but it's not high on my list of wants.

Still looking for a female Green Burmy, Male Ralts, and Female Snorunt for evolution's sake. (as well as some other specifics for breeding, but those are less important)

I got lucky with my Burmy... I grabbed all three kinds at the same time, and the first two hatched female. Then I got lucky and the last one hatched male XD

I got a female Lapras on the first try as well as a female Trapinch.
First Snorunt hatched female so I'll have to find a dawn stone. (: Dratini didn't work out so well so I'll have to get another egg.  I need another Mareep too. I was hoping it'll turn out female. So a lot of eggs I need to find. D; Hopefully I'll get things on the second try. --------------------       |

Hmmm it took me six eevees to get a female! Silly little girl! Took me four charmanders to get a female, and three growlithes to get one as well. I'm currently at three munchlaxs and three dratini's still trying for a gal!
