I was wondering how many others there are, like me, who like to keep the contents of their eggs a surprise until they hatch.
It can be a difficult task. Many trainers don't nickname their Pokémon, for some reason, so even a glance at the egg's parents can reveal its probable species. Same with siblings. And there are bad surprises as well as good ones, when that egg you thought was your favourite Pokémon turns out to be one of the same colour that you'd forgotten existed. So, how surprised do YOU like to be? -------------------- Barring emergencies, Lucy and Fae will always be in my party. You don't have to click them, though they always appreciate visitors! |

I have actually built up my own little pokedex on a word doc with sprites, mini sprites, dates I got the egg, when it evolved etc.

If i pick up an egg i don't recognise i try to wait until it hatches, i usually use the lab to pick up "surprise" eggs becasue then there wont be any heritage to tempt me into looking.

I'll go for surprises later, when I've got all my favourites. XD I like a surprise or two here or there, but generally I can identify most of them by sight anyway. Usually the egg patterns trigger my memory within the first few seconds of looking.

I was trying to find out the dsescription and appearance of some eggs I really wanted to have (not to miss them). I'm only lacking Feebas now, and I'll know when I spot one
For other eggs I usually just wait for them to hatch, it's a pleasant surprise, though I don't really try to keep my egg's identity a secret -------------------- |

It depends. Sometimes I'm looking for eggs of Pokemon I really really want to have, sometimes I just look at the Lab and pick an egg from which I like the description. ^^

I mostly try to pick up eggs I recognise in the first place, because I'm not into this fancy schmancy 3rd and 4th generation stuff. But if I do pick up an egg I don't know for sure, I prefer to keep it a surprise.

If I'm really baffled I might try to look it up. But even if I think it looks remotely familiar I won't.

I like to be surprised... But even in such a short time here I can recognize nearly every egg by picture and description (Whether by having it myself, Clicking one who had it, or it just being plain obvious) so its not as fun in the surprise department XD
The only real thing that trips me up is the Novelty eggs and even then those are sometimes easy to figure out. -------------------- |

Seems most of us prefer identification, myself included xD
But it's now easy for me to recognize an egg by the way it looks or its description, especially the former. Since I want every Pokemon eventually anyway, it doesn't matter if it's much of a surprise. -------------------- |

I have actually built up my own little pokedex on a word doc with sprites, mini sprites, dates I got the egg, when it evolved etc. I'm a organised bunny I am. I did the same =D I love how I have alot of bold names now! Only I use: example: #100 voltorb -Obtained- #101 Electrode So my unbold ones are the ones I'll grab. I also love the repels on gpx+ I had fun clicking random eggs for 3 turns Qwilfish, Cubone and the other none wailmer eggs are all from that =D I find them 1/4 special now. Yes, it's straight to "Identify my egg" only egg I have been suprized about was my Skorupi egg this morning, that I had got into my head was a shuppet XD -------------------- |

When I pick up an egg, I'll try to guess what it is if it has no parents. Though, I don't actually go looking at Pokemon to compare to the egg unless I'm really, really curious. Sometimes, surprises are fun.

Most of the egg images will trigger my memory so I know what pokemon it is, but not all. And some are misleading such as cyndaquil's egg might look like a wailmer.
I don't really mind. Sometimes if the egg image doesn't trigger any pokemon names in my mind I might ask, but usually I don't or I just scan the Identify your Egg thread for any other people asking the same egg as mine. -------------------- |
