I need help with Giovanni. I have fought him 6 times using Starmie Water/Psychic level 100, Piloswine Ice/Ground level 100 and Tangrowth Grass level 100. Any strategy to beat him would be much appreciated.

Best recommendations for pokemon.
What is the best water type overall with the best moves? What moves are the strongest? What is the best nature? -------------------- |

There is no 'best' Pokemon, really, especially here where evolved Pokemon's base stats are all normalized. Pure water types will have two 'Strong' water moves, and which one is strongest as well as which nature would work best depend on the Pokemon- for instance, a Feraligatr would probably be better with physical moves, while a Vaporeon would probably make better use of special moves.
Check the Questions page on the Battles for which natures affect which stats, though to be honest, I rarely pay attention to natures and haven't had many issues. IVs are another thing to check, you want those to be as high as possible (with a max of 31) Moves like Nasty Plot, which power up your subsequent attacks, are also useful. -------------------- |

When I beat Giovanni, I started out with an Excadrill, then used Ferrothorn and Volcarona. Mainly Ferrothorn though. I'd advise to use one against him. Give it Iron Defence, Vine Whip/Metal Claw (your choice), Swords Dance and maybe Recover if you want. Oh and give it a Leftovers.

Gyarados, Pelipper.
The Water typing will hit Giovanni's pokemon for super effective damage, while the Flying typing will make less of his attacks able to harm you. I recommend giving Gyarados the attacks: Swords Dance, Aerial Ace, Aqua Jet, and Recover. (Really, if you follow this strategy, all you'll need is Gyarados. Trust me.) Send out Gyarados as your first pokemon. Use Swords Dance. Then all you do after that is use Aqua Jet. If Gyarados somehow manages to faint, send out Pelipper (or even another Gyarados lol) and just spam Water Gun over and over again (if you're using two Gyarados, same as before: Aqua Jet). Honestly, it's really easy once you focus on being more defensive than completely offensive. The defense is in the protection of the Flying type from ground attacks, and the offense is in the Water attacks- super-effective against Ground types! -------------------- |

I used Skarmory holding Water Gem
U can set these move for it : Aqua Jet, Aerial Ace, Sword Dance, Recover First, u will use Sword Dance 2 or 3 times, then u use Aqua Jet and start sweeping his team If u don't have water gem, u can use Gliscor with the similar moves set Good luck! -------------------- |
