I saw a documentary on time. I agree with what it said.


It said that time is a fourth dimension in that we can travel through it. It's affected by gravity, too, so time goes slower when you are higher up (although it's so small that 100 years on the empire state building's summit is only 1/50000 second). If you were to go at the speed of light, time would stop; if you somehow went faster, it would go backwards, because gravity would stop it from catching up with you. Therefore, in theory, you could return before you actually left.

My physics teacher explained to me that, for example, if you ran around a field, you'd be 1/90,000~ of a second younger than someone who didn't. Gravity bends time or something like that.

That probably sounds confusing. It is. >_>
However, some of it could be wrong, since it was about a year since I saw the documentary.

the thing about time is that its much more simple than people think
time is really nothing but a human measurement that was created to measure the position of events
