There are now five cases in the city I live in. I'm not the slightest bit scared. In fact, I find the whole thing really, really funny. I mean, it sucks that people have died and stuff, but it's funny that the media has blown this whole thing out of proportion and now people are freaking out.

I'm a little worried about getting it, as even if it doesn't kill me, it would certainly be unpleasant, but not worried enough to stay home from the Death Note movie that's likely to be crowded (unless all the other Death Note fans are way too terrified of getting the flu, and I don't really see that happening).

Since the flu is not airborn and you can only get it from being in contact with a person that has it i am not that much worried cause i rarely leave my home town.

Some people wanted to change it to Mexican flu, but I think it's a bad idea. H1N1 or whatever they're calling it now is fine and not nearly as likely to incite racisms.

I just heard Obama announce on the news just a few minutes ago that the swine flu IS NOT ANY WORSE THAN THE COMMON FLU and that people are scared because they havent dealt with it before that much, and that the only thing that they should be worried about is our natural immunities to it

I think there have been three cases of swine flu in my county, but I'm not too worried about it. They're not dying from it. My teachers have been freaking out though. My chemistry teacher won't shut up about how "this is the start of a pandemic! We must be very precatious!" He's even started making us use hand sanitizer every time we enter the classroom. I think a lot of people are just overreacting.
