Yes, STAB exists in Leaf Green and Fire Red. As well as Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Seriously? Is it different from D/P/PT? Because on those games, it seems to actually exist. :o -------------------- |

Believe it or not, it exists. I've tested myself.

STAB is same type attack bonus, or the effect of a pokemon, say a blastoise, using the same move type as it, like water gun.

:flygon: someone needs to explane to me wat STAB is.because i have both firered/leafgreen. :flygon: Adding onto what colorless said.. So if that Blastoise uses Water Gun per se, or another move with the same type [Water in this case], that attack will receive a 50% damage boost. Using.. say a dual type Pokemon for example such as.. Lugia. If Lugia uses either a psychic type move OR a flying type move, 50% extra damage will be given. That, is the marvelous advantage known as STAB, or same type attack bonus ~ 83 This post has been edited by m e s p r i t: Sep 15 2009, 11:26 AM -------------------- |

Actually, I am pretty damn sure it's been around since Gen I. I'd bet everything I have on it, that's how sure I am. Pokemon Academy in Colosseum 2 (that's Gen II) actually taught you all about it, but I've been using STAB since Pokemon Red.
That's why most of my Pokemon learn same-type moves, the power boost is FOR THE WIN. This post has been edited by draconitas: Sep 15 2009, 08:05 AM -------------------- |
