Violet followed him out quickly, though moving faster than him. She prayed that Magma hadn't gotten hold of him as she turned a corner and continued. She came to a screeching halt though as she saw something she would never have expected.

Pichu sat there, looking up at the human with curious eyes. In his stubby arms was Violet's Pokeball, which he had found some use in as a toy. Violet stepped forwards to try and snatch it back, but he quickly moved away, taking it with him. Violet growled and pulled out another Pokeball, calling forth Storm who took chase after the much smaller Pokemon. Although Pichu was quicker, he didn't stand a chance against a rampaging Rhyhorn.

[Wildivlax]

"I know!" Trace took out Zex's, Vuk's and Shroomish's pokeballs out. "Vuk get on the back end of Zex! Shroomish, the front! Vuk! Ember! Zex! Start moving as fast as you can!" They did that. He waited a moment so they could get going fast enough. "Ok! Zex! Vuk! Stop! Shroomish! Jump!" Zex and Vuk stopped and Shroomish went flying. Shroomish then landed right right in front of Pichu, cutting it off.

The Pichu stumbled for a moment before jumping, bouncing off the top of Shroomish before hurrying on. Storm moved around the Shroomish and past the Pichu, before grinding to a halt and throwing the tiny mouse Pokemon into the air under its horn. It let out a frightened cry as it dropped the pokeball, Violet running out and catching it carefully before Pichu went crash landing on her head then falling to the ground. Storm wasn't finished though as he charged again, Violet having to jump out of the way and tackling the small Pokemon again.
Violet became worried, knowing that Storm had quite the temper, so before he could attack again she pulled out two more pokeballs, bringing Storm back into one before tossing the other at the rather beaten Pichu. He disappeared into the sphere in a flash of light before the ball shook around a few times. Sure enough it stopped, and she ran forwards to retrieve the ball.

"Where'd Violet and Trace run off to?" Daniel asked Richie. King and Queen floated alongside him as he tried to walk out of the Pokemon Center, wanting to get out of there as quickly as possible. Knowing that the two hours head start his babysitter gave him can be over soon, he tried to follow Richie.

"Wait!" he called out. "I know there's more to you than what you're telling us, but I need to ask you something. How do you become a member of the Resistance?"

[Protoman]

Richie stopped in his tracks, shock running across his face.

"You must have overheard the conversation I had," he concluded. He smirked a little bit, adjusting his hat. "The Resistance isn't something you want to get involved with, Daniel. They only help you when they want to." He looked to his left, seeing Violet gain a new addition to her team. He then sighed deeply, looking at Daniel.

"Listen, buddy," Richie told his new friend, "I know you want to take down Magma, and I know that you want to be a hero. The thing is, if you want to be a hero, you're gonna have to do it on your own. King and Queen are strong enough to stop any of your enemies in their tracks..." Richie sighed, tears welling up in the corners of his eyes. He quickly wiped them away before Daniel could see them. "What I'm getting at," he continued, "is simply the fact that I don't want anymore of my friends hurt..." He thought back on what had happened earlier. The Magmas were getting too close to them for comfort. Richie took drastic measures and grabbed the grappling hook to make an example...

"Well that's about it for the case of the missing Pokemon." Violet smiled, before heading back over to the group, lightly tossing and catching the Pokeball containing her new Pokemon. "Anyways, where to now? I've got nothing else to do really." she asked the group, wondering if any of the others had any personal agendas to care to.
"Of course if anyone's interested in a bit of practice, I'd love to see what my new friend can do." Violet wondered, looking back down at the Pokeball holding her Pichu. It may not have been a good idea to offer using him to battle, as she was rather uncertain if he could fight, let alone allow her to command him.

[Protoman]

"Nothing..." Richie responded before turning eastward once more, "I was just leaving..." Richie began to walk away, tears welling up once again. This was one of the few times Richie was this emotional. He never felt so...depressed...so sorrowful...he couldn't stop thinking about his failure. He wanted to go into hiding, and never return...he failed his major objective: Prevent the endangerment of any civilians.

Violet cocked her head at his response as he turned to walk away. "Wait, Richie!" she called, running over to him. She knew something was wrong judging by the sound of his voice, and she wouldn't feel right until she knew why.
"What's wrong? You don't sound happy." she asked, catching up to him rather quickly.

Suddenly her Pokeball snapped open, Pichu popping out and landing next to her. He shook his head rather quickly, never having been in a Pokeball before, then looked around rather confused.

[Erik Nolastname]

A Shuppet and a Misdreavus materialized next to a boy whose black and white Rustboro Academy uniform was now covered in soot and dirt. Daniel looked completely annoyed at Richie's answer. First his parents and now his friend, everybody was telling him what he can and cannot do and he won't have any of it. Helena understood and that's why she allowed him make a decision for himself. Somewhere in the background, smoke alarms went off as the Pokemon Center filled with dark grey smoke.

The Shuppet, King, floated closer to him and tried to comfort him. Daniel could see from its eyes that it believed in him as a trainer. After all, they escaped Team Magma didn't they? They were able to fend for themselves. Richie was certainly in no position to ignore everything he's done.

Queen, the Misdreavus, seemed to sense King's intentions and moved even closer to her trainer. She wanted Daniel to be safe and she knew getting involved in this uprising would put him in deep danger. She trusted him but she didn't want him to jump into something he didn't completely understand. Daniel looked at her as she playfully bit his hair. Somehow he felt Queen's concern.

What can he do? He's been sheltered his entire life. Protected from almost everything and never allowed to realize his full potential. Did he have potential? Well, his two trusted Pokemon were able to battle beautifully under his command against the likes of Team Magma. I'm sure that counted for something, he thought. But what if it was just mere luck? What if he only survived because of his friends? Slowly, he turned around and looked at Violet, pleased with her new Pichu, Trace, laughing at her side, and Richie.

Richie.

He knows something is up with him but he didn't want anyone to share in it, believing the knowledge alone could put them in danger. But they've faced danger before, and with the help of his friends, were able to rise to the top.

"Richie," Daniel started, "I know you don't want us to get hurt. But look at what we've been through! We're your friends. Violet, Trace, and myself. We can help you, like you helped us. Violet wouldn't have escaped Team Magma if it weren't for you. And Trace wouldn't have survived getting knocked unconscious if you weren't there. And I," he paused, "I wouldn't even have known about how amazing the real world could be. I wouldn't have known true friendship. You did all this to us. Won't you let us return the favor?"

Queen shook her head as Daniel walked up to Richie and Violet.

"What about it? We're all in this together. After all, we all are just looking for aid."

[Protoman]

Richie paused at this. He looked at Daniel and Violet, noticing how he had made new friends. He smiled widely, chuckling slightly at this.

"So," Richie said before looking at them both, "you want to be a part of The Resistance?" He took off his hat, showing his short, spiky black hair. His black eyes bounced from Daniel to Violet. "...okay, I guess I don't have a problem with it...."

Violet picked up her still rather confused Pichu with a smile, rubbing him behind the ears and laughing as he let out a satisfied 'chaaa'. "I think I'm going to head back to the Pokemon Center once it gets aired out and get him checked out." Violet told the group, starting to make her way back.
"I'll see you guys later, okay?" she asked. She hoped that they could get together again as the day had been rather exciting when she just wasn't by herself, despite getting captured and all.

ooc: time to wrap it up I think...

[Protoman]

"Wait," Richie called out to Violet, "...I was wondering if you wanted to...well, I don't know...tag along with me and Daniel?" He flashed a smile, hoping to win her over somehow, but just then, a phone call came in. Richie quickly pulled out his phone, answering it in a slightly agitated tone.

"Palmer..." A voice called to Richie. It was almost as if the person sounded disappointed.

"Yes sir?" Richie answered sheepishly. He already knew he was in trouble.

"What was your objective?" The voice asked Richie.

"...to remain hidden and to report to HQ, sir." Richie responded.

"Did you do either?" The commander asked Richie, his voice growing more and more upset.

"N-no..." Richie answered, "but sir let me explain!"

"What is there to say?" The voice asked, rather agitated. "I'll make it so that you'll never become more than an initiate..."

"That's not right!" Richie bellowed in anger, "that's not your decision to make!"

OOC: This is Daniel's last post.

Daniel looked expectantly at Violet. He wanted her to come too, but he didn't know what would happen if she did. Besides, he can't go back to the Pokemon Center. Not when Helena just let him escape.

Helena.

He knew she'd be back. His father wouldn't allow her to give up. But that's something he didn't have time to worry about. Not when he was just given freedom beyond his wildest dreams. Richie didn't sound too satisfied to be part of the Resistance but it certainly would be better than siding with the tyrannical Team Magma. The uncertainty of the future made Daniel feel thrilled and terrified at the same time.

He gave Richie, who looked like he was about to throw his phone away, and Violet, happy with her new found friend, a look which told them after everything that happened, the future would probably hold no surprises.

"Come on, Richie," Daniel patted his friend's back. "I'm sure they'd be glad you found them new recruits to serve the cause." Daniel turned to Violet, "Right, Violet?"

Offering no explanation at all, he laughed so hard King and Queen looked shocked at their trainer's bahavior.

[Protoman]

"Huh?" Richie said, looking in total shock at Daniel. "You're..." He smiled widely, putting the phone back to his ear. "Sir?"

"I heard him, Palmer." The voice told him, "I heard him..."

Violet nodded and let her new Pokemon investigate her friends. He seemed alright enough to not need to go to the Pokemon Center, so maybe after they split up she could get her chance to return. "I guess I can tag along for a little while longer, as long as we get some more excitement." she said with a grin, gesturing Pichu to return to her.
He looked over his shoulder while standing near Daniel and his two Ghost Pokemon to see her wave him back, so he dashed over to her and climbed up onto her shoulder.
"So what are we waiting for? Let's get going!"

[Protoman]

"First," Richie told Violet, "Daniel has to get registered into The Resistance. Then, we may be able to have some free time." He looked at Daniel and smiled, putting his hands on Daniel's shoulders. "You ready to do this? 'Cause the hard part starts soon!"

Although he didn't want to show it, Richie was rather ecstatic that Daniel was joining The Resistance. He now had his friends by his side and working with him. But what he had said did have some truth to it. The real action was going to begin tomorrow. He wasn't sure he was ready to handle what would happen next.

Violet nodded. "Of course. I'll catch up to you guys later then alright?" she asked, making her way back to the Pokemon Center. She stopped and turned to wave at them. "I'll find you guys when you finish up, just don't keep me waiting!" she told them with a broad smile, before she started to walk back to the Pokemon Center, which had been cleared out by then.

She disappeared after taking a turn, her new companion resting against her head with his eyes closed as she looked up at the setting sun. This had been a rather exciting day compared to her smaller more dull adventures alone, and she decided that if she continued to meet people, then her life would finally get more exciting.

"Well let's get going then..." she said to her Pichu, her voice almost a whisper as she walked towards the dull glow of the Pokemon Center.
