@Gorgon: Here's a quote of mine with a link to one of the few Poképastas to scare me: Week From Hell. The link is quoted below: QUOTE(Mars Adept Enten @ Oct 26 2012, 09:24 PM) I'm a huge creepypasta enthusiast, and probably the only one that actually scared me was the Poképasta, "Week From Hell". Basically, the author goes through one hell of a fucked-up week (forgive the bad pun.) Since this summary of events is long (and somewhat disturbing and gory, even by creepypasta standards), I'll spoiler it just in case. (Note: The author/OC's gender is not given in the story AFAIK, so you'll see a lot of third-person pronouns and he/she gender indicators.) Plot summary of WFH (click to showhide) On Monday, the author/OC sees a river of blood with severed limbs next to them on the street when walking home from swimming practice, on Tuesday, he/she goes to school and in their second class, attempts to dissect a pig fetus, which after some weirdness, starts talking like a demon about horrible events. They go home because they're unnerved about that event, and decide to watch a movie while their parents are at work. Said movie ends up following an alternate (read: Darker and Grimmer and Bloodier and Gorier, see the note on 'grimdark' on the DaE page. That's why I used 'Grimmer' instead of 'Edgier') plotline that, had some events happened/not happened, would not exist, on Wednesday, they go to swimming practice and eventually see a pair of demonic-looking kids, a girl and a boy. They end up having a fit and nearly drown (the author/OC, not the demonspawn children.) Now (which is Thursday) the author/OC is in the hospital. That night, they hear a child laughing, and attempt to follow it, only to find themself witnessing, and later, being the operation subject of, demonic surgeons. They had to be tranquilized and brought back to their room, which is where he/she awoke on Friday. They flee the hospital and hijack their dad's car and try to find a grandparent who is interested in the supernatural, only to find themself in a small village, where zombies attack them. The author/OC eventually crashes tha car and is re-interred in the hospital on Saturday morning, where they are bound to a hospital gurney with some restraints, which a great number of cockroaches manage to free them from. The author/OC is (rightfully) terrified due to the events up to this point, and runs back to their house. They run until daybreak on Sunday, and then witness the 'river of blood' again, but this time, there are severed heads in the river as well. One of the severed heads mentions that the author/OC has to 'fulfill their destiny' in order to break free of this torment. The author/OC then makes their way to a kindly neighbor's house and explains everything that has happened up to this point. The neighbor asks the author/OC what this 'destiny' is, after which the author/OC realizes their destiny is to kill this lady. After the lady takes her last breath, a strange object drops from the corpse's mouth, and it turns out to be a dead Celebi's corpse. Then the author/OC starts hearing the RBY Lavender Town BGM, and they are surrounded by the demonic surgeons that had tormented them earlier. Basically, this is a Poképasta that truly lives up to its title. If you feel brave enough to try reading this, the link is http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Week_from_Hell. Please note that I'm in my early 20's at this point (23 to be specific), and something managing to terrify me at that age is quite an accomplishment, when one considers that none of my major fears (parental abandonment, loneliness) show up here. Most of what happens in the story is pretty typical creepypasta stuff (demons, excessive violence, unnerving entities), but the death at the end is what terrifies me the most, because the lady was presumably innocent (although it's hard to say for certain, with the lack of information on her given) of any crime, but was killed by the very author/OC themselves, when they weren't under the control of an evil video game/demon/malevolent extradimensional entity, but acting of their own free will/sense of self-preservation. Normally, if a character in any creepypasta kills another character, there's some malevolent force/entity commandeering them as a puppet/possessing them/any other terrible fate du jour. Not so here. Just an ordinary, average Joe/Jane killing a (presumably innocent) lady in order to stop this infernal ordeal. Despite the fact that this Poképasta terrifies the living daylights out of me (or maybe because of that), it remains one of my favorite Poképastas/VGpastas. I have my post from another thread on creepypastas that I'll quote below. It has pretty much all my favorite VGpasta/Poképastas listed: QUOTE(Mars Adept Enten @ Jun 7 2012, 07:31 PM) I'm a huge creepypasta fan, mostly of the video game variety. The first one I ever read was the famous 'Haunted Majora's Mask' pasta, and I think that's one of the better ones. Some of my faves in no particular order (but grouped by series of origin) Haunted Majora's Mask/Zelda series Link's Awakening/Zelda series Ocarina of Time 3D/Zelda series (This one isn't about the 3DS port. Moreso an early beta OoT64) Forest Eternal/Zelda series AbandonLONLINESS/Pokémon series Doomwheel Forest/Pokémon series Easter Egg-Snow on Mt. I Wanna Be The Death/I Wanna Be The Guy IMDEAD.exe/Left 4 Dead series Kingdom Hearts: The Other Mix/Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix Life.exe/Original creation Luna Game/MLP:FiM fangame MARIO/Mario fangame/romhack Mario World/Super Mario World Polybius/Urban legend/Original creation Shi Ga Matte Iru/Original creation Sonic.exe/Sonic fangame Super Mario 64/Super Mario 64 Super Smash Bros. Melee: Hhidaka/SSBM Winds of Regret/Stigmata/Mizu/Original creation ...Yeah, I read a lot of VG creepypastas, I know. EDIT: I came across this video series on YouTube called Haunted Gaming that is made by SomeOrdinaryGamers. They've done readings/summaries of various video game 'pastas and offer their opinions on whether or not they are plausible. Here's a link to the video on Super Smash Bros. Melee: Hhidaka: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7nwDZNkJ7o7 They've also done playthroughs of 'pastas that have been recreated in game form as well. It's highly interesting and I recommend checking them out.

Uhm, guys... I have a new favorite creepypasta. 8D My favorite was Sonic.exe and Easter Egg - Snow on Mt. Silver, but this one takes the cake. It's NES Godzilla. Honestly... It scared the heck outta me. x'D It's really freaky. I'd suggest reading it in the daytime. x'D Didn't get nightmares or anything out of it ( probably because I always tend to dream about good things ) but... It's really really creepy. If you know it, then you know what I'm talking about xD If you don't... Well, it's a pretty awesome pasta, but REALLY SCARY too. xD Enjoy~

Oh, yeah. I <3 that 'pasta. *brofist* It was that one part in C5 P2, right? Yeah, that was pretty freaky. And a word of advice: do not play through Zelda: Ocarina of Time's Fire Temple when reading that part, because of that ending for the mentioned part. I made that mistake, and got pretty jumpy due to some face motifs in that temple looking very similar to that 'incident'. EDIT: I've actually done some fan sprites of the frostbitten!Pokémon from Easter Egg - Snow on Mt. Silver that I'd like to share with y'all: This is just a small sampling of the sprites I made based on this 'pasta. I've made all the evolutions of both Blake's Pokémon and Red's Pokémon. If you want to see more, check the "If you could make a Novelty..." thread over in GPX+ Discussion. I had so many sprites, I had to make 2 posts to show them all.

I found a fairly unnerving creepypasta flash game while looking on TV Tropes: Friendship is 8-bit: Story of the Blanks. Here's the link to the Newgrounds version: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/573755 It's also on dA as well. And here is a link to the work page I found for it: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Vide...toryOfTheBlanks

@MonoSpectator: I have a quoted post of mine near the beginning of this page that has some of my favorite 'pastas based on video/computer games. Also, checking out the Creepypasta Wikia is a good way to find some nifty 'pastas as well. That's how I found the majority of the 'pastas in my quote.

I found this blood-chiller on the Creepypasta Wikia: I HATE YOU. Even knowing that this is a fake, it still unnerves the Hell outta me. *blanches in horror* Basically, it's one of those 'hidden levels' VGpastas, but the titular level gets really freaky, really fast. Just... go read it for yourself. It's hard to sum up in a post like this. I'll try my best, though. I HATE YOU summary (click to showhide) The author of the pasta apparently never had a Super Nintendo, and played SMW for the first time as a (pirated) ROM on a computer they got in '96. They literally played the game beginning to end multiple upon multiple times. One day, though, they found an eyeless Boo when playing the game, which they dubbed the 'Blind Boo', along with an out-of-place keyhole. Thinking that they had actually broken the ROM due to overplaying it, they decided to take a screenshot and try using the key, thinking that the game would freeze up so they could restart. To their surprise, they go back to the map screen with a new path unlocked. They go to the newly-unlocked level, titled "Oh God No", and are concerned not by the weird level name, but moreso with Mario's reaction, which they couldn't really decipher. Possible guesses are surprise, shock, or fear. They get the typical 'castle level' intro, but there are bubbles appearing randomly, indicating that this is an underwater level. In the level proper, they find themselves in a one block-tall passage where they didn't have enough room to even jump. They run for awhile, only to eventually come across some more of the Blind Boos. The Boos just sort of hang there in midair, doing nothing at all. If the player made any noise, even jumping, they'd just shudder. Eventually, they run across a drastically-altered Banzai Bill with a disturbing sprite: one that indicates it's hemorrhaging blood from its eyes and mouth profusely and that they can't escape dying at the hands of without cheats. But since they had the invincibility Game Genie cheat on, they survived. After the 'Bleeding Bill' dies thanks to the invincibility, a message written in what is presumably blood shows up on the screen that reads, "I HATE YOU!" The player is kind of confused as to who that message is from. Possible culprits that they thought of were Bowser and the Boos. Speaking of which, they then run into Giant Boos, after which the Blind Boos stop showing up, much to the player's relief. But that relief doesn't last long, because the Giant Boos turned out to have a nasty surprise in store: they went from looking normal to downright demented when the player turned his back to them. Demented as in, being visibly angry/happy, having far more realistic mouth designs than normal and looking disturbing all at the same time. And another strange bloody message shows up around the same time, this time reading, "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!" Again, the player is unnerved by this strangely evil-sounding message. Just like the Bleeding Bill, of which they had encountered two total, the Giant Demented Boos died in one hit, thanks to the player's invincibility. The player eventually reaches a pipe going downwards, which leads to an underwater room with a ? block that releases a Super Mushroom when hit. The player then encounters a series of Thwomps that dropped apparently at random, with no triggers or anything. And it turns out that they were very successful Thwomps: the ground underneath them was covered in cartoonish blood. Another odd thing about the blood (aside from it being generally out of place in a Mario game) is that it made Mario slide, as if he was on ice. The player, sickened and angered by the mindlessly ever-crushing Thwomps, makes sure that they all touch him and die due to his invincibility. They then enter a more open area with spikes on the ceiling and floor, with a rather disturbing touch: the corpses of dead Marios, with their skin turned blue like they drowned or something. The corpses bobbed up and down, as if to indicate a slight current. But after taking a screenshot (while thinking about taking more 'shots), the corpses turn out to be Not Quite Dead and blindly home in on the player like kamikaze pilots, using actual strategy to try and ram into the player, all while moving extremely fast. The player eventually reaches an exit pipe, which leads to a completely uneventful hallway with a set of doors that would lead to the castle boss. And beside the doors, is a rather deranged and demented-looking Super Mushroom. Naturally, the player didn't want anything to do with that. Going through the doors triggered the normal map change to the boss room, which was a bridge over boiling lava (although the player thought that it could possibly be boiling blood all along.) At this point, they lost control over Mario, who just stood there, looking to the side. In the third window from the left of the screen was a mysterious shadow (which normally isn't there, and also looks an awful lot like the 'Beyond Hell Valley Sky Trees' in Super Mario Galaxy 2). Mario seemingly regained his composure, because he started surveying the room. This goes on for awhile, and then Luigi shows up, very angry. Mario actually recoils in horror seeing his bro like this. Luigi then speaks, saying: "YOU THOUGHT KOOPA WORKED ALONE?" It turns out that those creepy messages seen while playing through the level? Those were being said by Luigi the whole time. And Princess Peach's kidnappings? Those were orchestrated by him as well. It was an inside job from day 1. Sick and tired and angry about his bro hogging the limelight, Luigi decided to aid the bros' worst enemy. Of course, seeing as how he's always been the second banana to his bro, this is understandable. No matter how many times Mario fails, he always ends up saving the day. Then Luigi jumps high into the air, as high as he could back in Super Mario Bros. 2, the black sheep of the series, while Mario cowers in fear the whole time. He then stomps on Mario repeatedly, while Mario cries all the while. After stomping the living daylights out of Mario, Luigi seemingly looks at the body of his bro in rage. The bridge then starts to disappear, and Luigi takes a rather deranged and dementedly enraged victory pose. The player is beginning to worry that this will be 'permanent', so to speak. But Mario stands up, and takes Luigi by surprise. He then overpowers his bro, sending him into the lava (blood?). Luigi then title-drops the level name, OH GOD NO. After killing Luigi, Mario just sits on the edge of the bridge and weeps. This goes on for awhile before fading to black. The player could never access that level ever again, it seemingly being only playable one time and that's it. The game then went 'back to normal', so to speak. Well, relatively 'back to normal', except for the 'The End' screen, which featured a blood-covered angrily pleased-looking Mario, a brutally beaten (and almost zombielike) Luigi, and a crying, distraught Princess Peach. As you can probably tell, this is quite the unnerving 'pasta. EDIT: Here's a good Poképasta I just came upon today: Forever Mine. And a summary: Forever Mine summary (click to showhide) Basically, the author starts off the 'pasta obsessed with the at that time new Sky Forme Shaymin. Sadly, the author missed the initial distribution of the event, and had to resort to AR to get a Shaymin. So they activate a Pokémon modifier code and run across a Land Forme Shaymin. They catch it with a Master Ball and nickname it 'Skye', after a Sky Forme Shaymin plushie they own. They also decide to teach their new Shaymin Fly with another AR code, the 'learn any TM/HM' code. They then fly to Floaroma to get the necessary Gracidea flower for the forme change. But when talking to the NPC that gives you the Gracidea, they wouldn't get the flower. So they apologize to their Shaymin, knowing that it can't hear them. After a while, they get bored of Platinum and move on to HeartGold. While digging through the container where they keep their DS games, they find their Plat game card again. They check the PC on that file, and remember that they had a whole bunch of Legendaries. Since they wanted to start a new file, but not lose the Legendaries, they trade over all of their Legendaries to their HG file. Some more time goes by after this, with the Plat Legends just sitting there in their PC. They had just finished the Celebi/Giovanni battle event and decide to deposit their Celebi in the PC. They then find their Legendaries box and check the various summaries, noticing that the majority were from Plat. However, since quite a few were not 'legit' Legends, they decide to release the non-legit ones. They then get to two Shaymin, both hacked. They decide to release Skye of the two hacked Shaymin, but get a different release message: "Release this Pokémon? Yes/No" They select 'Yes'. "Skye was released. Skye sadly said farewell..." That message confused them, since it's not supposed to say that normally, but they were unsure whether or not that was the 'normal' release message. Disregarding that, they save and turn off the game, since it was late. The next day, they turn on the game again and check the PC, only to find 13 SF Shaymin in their Legendaries box. Each Shaymin has a one-letter nickname and has a progressively-bloodier appearance. The author then notices that the SF Shaymins' nicknames spell out the phrase, "CHECK PLATINUM". They get freaked out and turn off their DSi and hide it under their bed. Later, in the middle of the night, they wake up and can't get back to sleep. They find the DSi under the bed and debate whether or not to play it, eventually deciding to do so. So they walk over to their bedroom light to turn it on, only to trip over their Land Forme Shaymin plushie. They tell it to get back where it belongs and throw it onto their pile of Pokémon plushies. They put Platinum in their DSi and turn the light back off because of the DSi's backlit screen. They load up their file, which bizarrely opens with them in the Seabreak Path. Which is odd, because they swore they saved at a Pokémon Center. Since leaving is impossible due to the path being blocked, as if they used the WTW code to get to the SBP, they continue forward. They open their menu, only to find that they have no Pokémon at all. They noted that it took a long time to get to the Flower Paradise, but chalk that up to being overly used to the automatic run in HG, and didn't hold down the B button. Some time passes, after which they notice that the water is tinged a slight red, as does the path they're on. This makes them feel a tad ill, but they continue onwards. The further they progress, the path and water turn more reddish. They begin to regret continuing, but still proceed. Eventually, the flowers disappear and Pokémon organs start showing up. Still proceeding, they eventually start seeing bones as well. Eventually, they reach the Flower Paradise, but it's not called that. It is instead named, "???". They spot a Shaymin in the center of the area, approach it and interact with it. They get a text box reading, "I knew you'd come back...", after which a battle is initiated. The 'wild Pokémon encounter' message is "Skye attacked!" as opposed to the normal message. Since they had no Pokémon, the game treated the encounter like one in the Pastoria Great Marsh, complete with the 'what will you throw' message when an encounter is initated. But instead of the usual 'Mud, Bait, Run' options, they had only one selection: Skye's Master Ball. They then select that option and catch the Shaymin successfully. However, the normal 'Pokémon caught!' track doesn't play. After catching the Shaymin, they check the summary of it. The sprite is covered in blood and has a sad/angry expression. Thankfully, this Shaymin still knows Fly, and they try to select that, only for the game to state that "Skye doesn't want to Fly!" They yell at their game, telling Skye to Fly already, only to get a message that states "Skye needs to get ready!" The author is confused by that message as the menu closes automatically. Skye was with their character on the overworld, moving around the area, stopping every so often. Eventually, the screen fades to black, along with a text box reading "Skye is ready to Fly!" The game goes back to the overworld, and the author nervously opens the menu and checks "Skye"'s summary. What they see is rather unpleasant: "Skye"'s eyes had turned to pitch-black with red pupils. Her ears were bloody SF ones, her tail a bloody SF one, and her front legs bloody SF ones. Her hind legs were stretched to match the length of the front legs, which looked very painful. Her flower was replaced by a SF Shaymin flower, slightly torn. And she had the most twisted grin along with a messed-up cry that was half LF and half SF. Closing out of the summary, they find themselves in a completely black screen instead of the Flower "Paradise" where they previously stood. "Skye" had a new overworld sprite that matched her new appearance. The author turns their character to face "Skye" and interact with her. A text box that says: "Do you like my new look?" shows up upon interaction. They're having a very negative reaction to this new look. "Skye" then starts flying around, stating: "SEEEE? I CAN FLY NOW. WILL YOU LOVE ME NOW?" A new text box shows up, stating: "LOVE ME?" along with playing her new cry. She then asks the same question, with her cry playing again, but slightly quieter, along with the text shrinking. This occurs a second time, with the cry becoming even more quiet and the text shrinking again. This keeps going until the text is almost unreadable and the cry being barely audible. Then, the text changes to: "LOVE ME?!!?" and the cry blasts through the speakers insanely loud, to the point where the author thought that they went deaf briefly. Then a question shows up: "Do you love me? Yes/No" The author thinks to themselves that they did love "Skye" at one point, before she turned into this 'thing' and then select 'No'. Skye then states "You're lying." The author is rightfully confused, and another text shows up: "You still love me. You will always love me." Another text shows up, this time reading: "You'll be mine forever." Then a message stating that "Skye" forgot Fly and learned Imprison shows up. "Skye" then uses her new Imprison move and the screen goes completely black. Since hitting the buttons has no effect, the author turns off the game and takes the Plat game card out and throws it against the wall, and it lands in the trash. The author comments that they'll never be "Skye"'s. They then boot up their copy of HG to try and forget about that cursed Skymin. Upon loading their savefile, they find themselves in a completely black screen with the demon!Skymin sprite in front of their character. The final message they get? "I told you that you'd be mine forever." I kind of want to make a sprite edit of Skymin to make it look like the one in the 'pasta. EDIT 2: Another good VGpasta I just finished reading: ChooseYourAdventure.exe (don't be fooled by the 'pasta title, it's not about those old-school "CYOA" books, moreso a precognizant computer game.) ChooseYourAdventure.exe summary (click to showhide) The story stars a husband (named Jacob, when referred to in-story will be called 'Jake') and his gaming-obsessed son Tyler (when referred to in-story will be called Ty), told from Jake's POV. It starts off with Ty playing increasingly-high amounts of time gaming on his PC the day before school starts. Jake and his wife are concerned about Ty's welfare and try to have a discussion with their son about his gaming habits. Ty shouts back that 'it's really important!', 'it' being the titular game. So Jake goes to Ty's room to see just what was more important than his own parents. Ty can't explain just why he has to keep playing, except for the simple fact that he has to. Getting frustrated, Jake takes control of the truck Ty was driving in-game and runs it off the road. After which, an eerie 'GAME OVER' shows up, written in a blood-red font. Jake then tries to tell Ty to stop playing so much games, but Ty is rather distraught about what Jake did to his game. Jake tells him to lighten up, and realize that life isn't all about gaming. The forced game-over was a bad idea, as the next day, Jake gets a call from his wife regarding Tyler. It turns out that Ty got hit by a car on his way to school and is now in a coma. Thinking that this is just some sick nightmare, Jake tries to shrug it off. However, it turns out to be all too real, because a TV in the break room at Jake's workplace cuts to a news report on the accident. According to the newscast, the perpetrator hadn't been found at that time. It then shows a picture of the vehicle used in the hit and run on Ty, which looks *exactly* like the truck that Ty was driving earlier in CYA.exe. Curiosity gets the better of Jake, and he decides to check his son's PC game library, because apparently Ty played what seemed like a new game every day. One moment, Jake would see his son playing a RPG, and the next, an FPS. So, as Jake figured, his son must have gigs upon gigs of games on his HD. He opens the games folder only to find one game, titled "ChooseYourAdventure.exe" The icon for the file was a sprite of his son's face. Jake decides to open the game file, just to see what got his son hooked on it. The loading screen was, shall we say... unpleasant. Basically, it was a hyper-realistically drawn Grim Reaper, complete with blood on the scythe and Glowing Red Eyelights of Undeath. However, the horrifying picture is rendered somewhat Narmy with the decidedly-lighter quote written at the bottom of the screen in a scribbled, blood-red font: "'Every man gotta right to decide his own destiny.' -Bob Marley". A while after that loading screen, the title screen loads up, with the game title showing up along with two options: Begin and Flee, all written in the same font as the earlier quote. Jake decides to choose "Begin" and a name selection box shows up with his full name: "Jacob *removed surname for privacy reasons*" At first, Jake is unnerved by that, but shakes it off, figuring that when he was playing the game, that Ty mentioned him somewhere at some point in time. Plus, Jake knew a bit about how these kinds of things work when it comes to finding names and all, so he shrugs it off and clicks the "accept name" button. The game starts up with a cutscene in an office building that looks remarkably similar to the one Jake actually works at. He also shrugs this off, considering fictional office complexes often look similar, if not completely alike. Then, a 16-bit style sprite of his boss appears, who also looks eerily similar to his actual boss, even down to the ridiculous toupeé. The in-game version of his boss yells at the in-game version of Jake to come see him in his office and walks off. Jake then spots a dead-on facsimile of him in 16-bit sprite form and gets mildly creeped out. He then goes through a gamification of his own work day routine, done in the style of the WarioWare, Inc. series with single-word instructions, like "SHRED!" and "COPY!". After ~5 min. of this, he gets a cutscene of his game avatar standing in another room, which is undoubtedly his boss's office. The boss praises Jake's character and offers him a promotion. The game then quits to the title screen. Jake just finds this game to be odd and believes he can just sleep it off, it obviously not being real. Or so he thinks... The next day, his boss calls him into his office and states that he's impressed with Jake's work and offers a promotion. Jake is understandably confused about this, seeing as how it mirrors the events from CYA.exe exactly. He then discounts the ridiculous (yet true) notion of CYA.exe showing him his future by repeatedly thinking that he is still in control. The next day, Jake decides to check out Ty's web browser, and discovers that his son had logged onto a lot of gaming forums. He then decides to browse some threads Ty had started. Ty, under the username 'TyGuy128', had a conversation with two folks going by the usernames 'ThatSpyIsASpy' and 'Gaiden1033' on a thread he started about CYA.exe where he talks about finding a thumbdrive at his school that no one had claimed, so he picked it up and took it home with him. He found the CYA.exe file and wanted to see if anyone knew anything about this game. TSIAS tried to tell him to delete it as did Gaiden, because a friend of his had that game and Gaiden saw them play through a strange water level, fail, and freak out. A few days after that, they went to the beach, and Gaiden's friend got caught in a riptide and was swept out to sea. The friend's body was never found. Ty dismisses that as the two trying to 'pull his leg', but TSIAS is insistent on that being the reason why Ty should get rid of it. Because apparently, the game will do anything to sucker you into playing it and then after you get hooked, will show you how you'll die. Ty is exasperated and just wants some straight answers about CYA.exe, and Gaiden tells him that CYA.exe is 'whatever it wants to be. It will be a turn-based RPG one day and an FPS the next. Whatever it thinks will hook you. Once you're suckered in, the only way out is death." Ty dismisses even Gaiden's words, and sarcastically states that "Let me guess: this girl who drowns in a well comes out of my screen and kills me in a week, right? Give me a break! I'm gonna check it out...", to which TSIAS states, "Your feeble mind will not be missed." About a week later, Jake is still playing through CYA.exe, which is shattering his perceptions on reality. He plays a point-and-click style game before his wife tells him to get some groceries, and a typing game right before he has to give a typing workshop at work. He realizes that the posters on the "ChooseYourAdventure.exe" thread that Ty started were right, everything that he's done in the game is in his near future. Now Jake realizes that he's starting to sound like a madman, and that he's totally obsessed with CYA.exe. He decides to try and quit cold-turkey, only to realize that if he does quit, he might very well be killing himself. So he decides to write this up as a warning to everyone that CYA.exe and any download/copy of it could be dangerous. He starts up the game only to get a creepy message on the title screen as follows (grammar left intact): "You see I have reaped your pitiful soul many bounties in these last precious days. Have you enjoyed them, Jacob? I'm sure you have, otherwise you would not be begging me for more. Be advised your future has a price. I await your toll." After the message, a cutscene starts with Jake's character at the computer when the lights flicker suddenly. Then, some distorted laughter rang out in binaural tones as his avatar grabbed a flashlight and a knife. After the cutscene, the new game loads up, looking remarkably similar to Luigi's Mansion, a favorite game of Ty's before he found CYA.exe, but with much better graphics and taking place inside Jake's house (naturally). The game was basically just "Jake" wandering around the halls as deformed shadows appeared randomly. Then, a creepy music-box tune played, along with that distorted laughter. A 'screamer' of the Grim Reaper from the loading screen shows up, and the game goes into a FPV to indicate a boss battle. It turns out the Grim Reaper is a boss fight against a grotesque demon and starts to fight with "Jake". Actually, it' not so much 'fight with' as it is a Curb-Stomp Battle, because 'fighting with' implies that you're able to defend yourself. "Jake" was getting mauled and his health bar would be 3/4 gone in a matter of seconds. After "Jake"'s health meter had been depleted, the demon turns into a giant python and devours him, complete with the camera showing every gruesome detail. The game eventually faded the screen out to a 'GAME OVER'. Jake tries to valiantly rebel against this terrible fate and reboot the game, but it's been sealed. So, realizing that this is possibly his last day, he warns the reader to have nothing to do with "ChooseYourAdventure.exe". The epilogue then mentions another tragedy befalling this family, in which the husband has gone missing. When investigating, the police found signs of a struggle but nothing else. The story ends with an admonishment to contact the authorities if any further evidence is found. I like this story because of the whole "game eventually affects reality" trope going on. Really ups the Paranoia Fuel IMO. And even though it'd be suicidal playing it, I still would like to know what the game felt my future would be like. EDIT 3: A fairly-unnerving 'pasta that intrigued me just from the name alone that I found recently is the 'pasta Misfortune.gbIt's basically a 'hidden game-within-a-game' 'pasta about an entity highly implied to be a (or the) devil 'testing' the PC. It's got all the typical 'suicidal tendencies in losing players' clichés going on, with any victors not being any worse for the wear. What I find interesting about this 'pasta is how it's formatted. It's done in the style of an informational page, rather than first-hand narration.

I was just browsing on the Creepypasta Wikia and found this story: Abaddon Tenebrae I guess it's because it has religious elements in it, but I thought that this was an engaging pasta. A spoilered summary will be below, with the story separated into parts: Abaddon Tenebrae summary (click to showhide) Part 1: The pasta starts with the narrator, Gerard, locked away in an insanitarium/mental hospital, mentioning that this whole ordeal started when his friend Humphrey obtained a CD with a game titled Abaddon on it. Apparently, Humphrey got it when his sister bought a bunch of pirated DVDs, but the CD itself was original. The game involves shooting down gargoyle-like black demons with a shotgun that fires blue rays. Humphrey called Gerard over to see this new game of his, but he couldn't even explain it. Gerard then notes that he never should have gone over to Humphrey's house, as him playing it started everything. When Gerard gets to Humphrey's house, he sees his friend playing the game, which apparently takes place in his hometown. Because the current location that his friend was at in the game was an exact replica of his home street, but with everything ablaze and corpses littering the ground. Eventually, Humphrey manages to get off of their home street and to a supermarket, when the clouds part and a giant red demon shows up, which is the level 'boss'. However, Humphrey loses all his lives and Game Over's to the demon. Gerard comments on how the game was 'awesome' and gives the game a shot. He starts up a new game, and gets asked for his name and birth date. After the game processes the information, a piece of parchment with the following text shows up: "Gerard *surname removed for privacy reasons*, United States of America, Tennesee, Nashville. Libra with Piscis (sic) ascendant. 4698-131" Gerard is amazed again, and Humphrey tells him to continue. The EULA shows up and Humphrey tells Gerard to just accept it. He does so and the game starts proper. Gerard is spawned right in front of his house's in-game equivalent and again, he is amazed at that. He starts shooting demons, and his neighbor Lillian shows up in the game. He tries to save her, but she gets overwhelmed by the demons. Gerard doesn't last all that long, unsurprisingly. The high scores then show up with him in dead last. That's when he notices the numbers and asks Humphrey about them, but he doesn't have a clue what they're for either. They guess that maybe it's something to do with Google Earth or that the game makes them up. Gerard was pretty exhilarated by the whole thing and Humphrey mentions a math exam. Gerard is confused, and asks him what he meant. Humphrey mentions that he made Gerard a copy of the game, but in exchange, he wants the answers to an upcoming math exam. Gerard agrees and takes his copy of the game and leaves. When he's outside, he notices Lillian outside in almost the exact same spot he saw her at in Abaddon. He comments that it was nice to see her alive IRL and playing.
Part 2: Gerard starts up the game and it asks for his information again, but the EULA doesn't show up this time. But he didn't care about that (which will come back to bite him in the ass later on). He played the game until around midnight because he couldn't get over how good the game was. He even explored his entire neighborhood in game, and even got rid of the demons at his school. He also fought the giant red demon, but lost every time. Then he hears his mom scolding him, saying "Gerard! You better not be playing!" which makes him stop for the night. The next day, he keeps playing the game. This continues to the weekend. However, try as he might, Gerard can't defeat the giant red demon. Not even locking himself away in his room for the weekend enabled him to do so. He begins to assume that the game only has one level. So he decides that he'll tell that to Humphrey when he sees him at school on Monday. Humphrey mentions that he stopped playing the game, at which Gerard takes umbrage, as this isn't your run-of-the-mill game. Also, Humphrey was Gerard's only friend, so he had no one else to play it with. But Humphrey mentions that he hasn't felt well and that the computer is giving him headaches. Before ending the conversation, he asks Humphrey for the original disc, and Humphrey asks him why. Gerard responds that he wants to find some information on this game. As it's been a whole week and he still hasn't defeated the giant red demon and he's getting desperate. So, after school lets out, he goes to Humphrey's house to pick up the disc, and sees his friend is intensely ill, having a fever and bloodshot eyes. Gerard is concerned and tells Humphrey to go to the hospital. The doctor told him that he'd be fine, as he wasn't sick at all. Humphrey gives Gerard the disc and leaves him alone. In actuality, there wasn't much on the disc, aside from "Abaddon I" on the top, "Tenebrae" at the bottom, and a sequence of letters and numbers in the middle: "4qrtpp". Nothing like a trademark or creator or anything that could be useful in this situation. So Gerard Google searches for those words. Regarding the 'Abaddon I' query, all he found was information about a rock band by that name and later in the results, information about the demon of the same name, who presides over the seventh hierarchy of demons and is also known as "The Exterminator". Regarding the 'Tenebrae' query, all he finds is that it's something used to make games when you're on the character's POV. Regarding the '4qrtpp', he finds nothing. Then he heads to bed for the day.
Part 3: The next day at school, Gerard hears that Humphrey has died. He is understandably shocked, as he saw him not less than a day ago. He then mentions that he had several of Humphrey's possessions that he never bothered to return, then lists them. After school, he immediately heads to Humphrey's house, only to find no one there. Gerard's mom later explains that everyone went to Humphrey's funeral. She asks him if he wants to go, and he refuses. She understands. Gerard wants to do something to take his mind off this tragic turn of events and decides to play the game again. But he still can't defeat the giant red demon, which just makes him even sadder. Gerard gets the idea to Google search all of the text he saw on the game disc, and finds a page in Romanian as the sole result. All the page has is an email account in white text on a black background. Unable to resist, Gerard boots up his email account and sends an email to the account he found. All he asked was "I want information on Abaddon I." Looking away from his computer for a bit, he sees Humphrey's parents returning from their son's funeral, still dressed in black and crying. Gerard feels terrible just then and wonders how a thirteen-year-old boy could die so fast. While waiting for a response from the other email address, he decides to play some other games. Three days later, he tries playing Abaddon again, only to notice something he hadn't earlier on his fourth attempt: in the window of Humphrey's in-game house, he sees a sad boy's face, constantly staring at him. He stared at that face until he got a Game Over. As Gerard was too shocked to continue, he exits out of the game. He then gets a notification that he has some unread emails. He wants to distract himself from what he just saw, but can't. Gerard then notices that one of the two unread messages is from the Romanian email account he found earlier. He opens the message to find the following: "The information is on the cross", written in Spanish, his mother tongue. Gerard couldn't make sense of that message, as he never had seen, let alone come across, any crosses in the game. So he boots up the game again and runs towards the nearest church, trying to ignore the demons and just focus on running. When he got to the church, he noticed that he was continually repulsed, as if there was some force trying to keep him out. He kept trying until he Game Overs yet again. Gerard then turns off his computer and looks over at Humphrey's house, only to find the curtains still and the bed spotless.
Part 4: By this time, Gerard's parents have found out that something's not right with their son. One night, after dinner, Gerard's mom asks her son what "Regnat Abaddon" is. Gerard fearfully asks why she wants to know, as he doesn't even know what it means himself. It turns out that Gerard has been saying that phrase in his sleep. His mom asks if he's seen any scary movies as of late or if this is something that has to do with Humphrey. Gerard doesn't answer and heads straight to his room to break the game discs, both his copy and the original one, and is about to uninstall the game entirely, then he finally understands. He boots up the game yet again but can't avoid looking over at Humphrey's house in-game. It looked like the boy wanted to say something but knew it was impossible. So Gerard does the only thing that he knows that he HASN'T tried: go inside his house in-game. It turns out that everything in his in-game house is identical to his IRL house. He notes that behind the door to his room, someone is playing with the computer. In game, he decides to not head towards his room, and IRL he tries to not look at his room door. He heads to the one cross in his house, the one in his parents' bedroom. He sees some blue text in midair that reads: "The first number is the distance from the darkness to the day of the contract. The second number is the day from the day of the contract to the darkness. When Abaddon is defeated the original date is returned." Gerard couldn't make out what that was supposed to mean and just stares at it for a long time, until he notices a shiny blue bow with one arrow. He realizes that with that arrow, he can finally defeat Abaddon (who was the giant red demon all along). Then, he looks at his clock only to find that it's half past midnight. Gerard is rightfully confused over all that he's seen so far. He then shuts off his computer and heads to his parents' bedroom. There is no text in midair by the cross. Gerard then starts crying, which wakes up his mom. She then asks him if he's okay, to which he replies that he's had another bad dream.
Part 5: Gerard then heads back to his own room, but he can hear his parents talking with each other, clearly concerned over their son. In the game, a demon had entered Gerard's house, killed him, and destroyed the shiny blue bow. The next day, Gerard says he doesn't want to go to school, as he didn't feel well. He spends the entire day trying to find the shiny blue bow and Humphrey. He has no success, as Humphrey doesn't show up any more in game nor does the shiny blue bow reappear. At this point, Gerard doesn't even feel like defending himself from the demons anymore. He then sends another message to the Romanian email account, as he is feeling rather upset. He only manages to get a response when he types in "Libra with Piscis (sic) ascendant. 4698-131". When he does so, he gets a reply of "You're so young, Libra." (from this point on, I'll distinguish the responses with Gerald's in normal text, and the Romanian's with italics.) "How did you know? I'm almost fourteen." "The first number separates you from the first darkness, that means the number of days since your birth." Gerard doesn't need to ask what that second number means, as he's figured out that it is the number of days you have to defeat Abaddon in the game. Since the second number he got was 131, and the number Humphrey got was 7, you can probably draw your own conclusions as to what that means. Gerard then asks "What is the contract?" "The starting clauses, when you played for the first time. Didn't you read them? You liberated your original date for the one Abaddon would give you." "My original date?" "The day of your death. Abaddon chooses another one to give some emotion to the game. When you defeat the Exterminator, he gives you back your original date. And then the game is over. You're lucky, Libra. Not everyone has 131 days to defeat him." A demon from the game suddenly appears after this, tormenting Gerard by crawling on his back, clawing and biting at him. Gerard's screams of pain get his mother's attention, and she cries out: "Gerard! What is happening!? Where does it hurt!?" The very next day, Gerard gets taken to the insanitarium/mental hospital the story opens in. He mentions that here, he is no longer tormented by the demons, but they do fly by on occasion and stare at him, occasionally peeking in his cell's window. He then admonishes the reader with the following (grammar and spelling left intact): "I'm running short. If you think it is worth it, dear reader, made whatever you can do so I'm allowed to go back the game and finish Abaddon. I know there's some other cross with the bright bow so I can end it. I'm scared. I'm tired and feel so alone." Gerard's account ends there, with the story noting that the preceeding was written on six napkins found in the gardens of the Child Psychiatric Hospital and given by Dr. George Garcia to the parents of Gerard *surname omitted for privacy*, a few days after his death. The pasta ends with three notes that the game's existence was never confirmed, that the only known detail of the story is a conversation between the minor and a stranger in Romania via e-mail and that Gerard's parents remarked that they ignored the fact that their son could read and write in antique Latin.
As you can see, this is QUITE a long pasta, but it's quite the engaging one if you're knowledgeable about Judeo-Christian lore. I actually went to the trouble of calculating what my "first number" would be and got 9,650 to the exact date I make this post. EDIT: Some time has passed since I made this post, and I found another interesting 'pasta that's not video-game related: Necrosleep. However, this pasta is very unpleasant, to put it lightly. I'm not going to post a synopsis of it. The reason will become apparent when you get to the end. All I'll say is that cannibalism of both a person and a pet is involved. And there's several Satanic clichés, but that's nothing compared to the cannibalism. Note: If you look at the comments section for a few of the pastas I have linked here, you might see some from a 'Demon Adept Enten', which would be yours truly. EDIT 2: I've been on the Creepypasta Wikia again and remembered this Poképasta: Glitchy Red. It's basically about a weird copy of Red Version that apparently has the character Red display some rather unsettling self-awareness, and dicking around with the narrator. NOTE: There's some bad language, albeit censored. So just be warned if you're sensitive to that kind of thing. Also, this is one of the 'pastas I have a comment on. It's a pretty long one, but I raise some interesting points in it.[/selfpromotion] EDIT 3: And I regret having to say this, but toonwriter's 'pasta, "Nightmare in Kanto" has now been featured on SomeOrdinaryGamers' Trollpasta video series, as well as being featured on the Trollpasta Wikia.
