This RP, while centered on Soul Calibur, only requires basic knowledge of the game. Additional content can be found in a link further down the page and I will gladly answer any question. Don't be afraid to ask, no question is too stupid for me.The Tale Which is Eternally Retold (click to showhide) Long ago, man created a sword. It was used to slay thousands upon thousands of men. As a result of being covered in blood and being used by warriors filled with hatred, the sword soon grew a soul of its own. That sword is called Soul Edge. The soul it had acquired, which called itself Inferno, was pure evil. This made Soul Edge corrupt the souls of whoever grasped its hilt. The first known bearer of this sword was The Hero King, Algol. His will was so strong that he was able to overpower Inferno and he was able to wield it properly.
However, his son, Arcturus, was jealous of his father's power and stole Soul Edge from him, instantly getting consumed by the blade. Algol, being a good king, tried freeing his son from the Cursed Blade's influence. He succeded, but at the price of his son's life. The Cursed Blade broke after the fight and Algol, who had sworn revenge against the sword, used the fragments from the sword, which he purified, and created Soul Calibur. He only managed to do so after many failed attempts and, once again, the result wasn't as he had expected. He died in the process and the sword was very similar to Soul Edge. Therefore, his tribe worked together to purify the sword, eventually turning it into the well-known Spirit Sword.
Many, many years later, Siegfried Schtauffen acquired Soul Edge, which spawned the event called "The Evil Seed", which was a bright burst of light as the Cursed Blade itself accepted the man as its rightful owner. The Evil Seed caused many people across the land to go insane and murder others savagely. Siegfried was eventually corrupted by the Cursed Blade, eventually becoming the monstrosity that was Nightmare. During a battle against Raphael Sorel, Nightmare suddenly became immobile. Siegfried was fighting Nightmare in his mind. Raphael, using all his willpower and what little strength he had left, unleashed a final attacked and pierced the center of Soul Edge, making Nightmare roar in pain and weakening him greatly. Siegfried seized the opportunity and vanquished Soul Edge's emprise on him as the French noble lost consciousness.
The Cursed Blade wasn't completely eradicated though. Zasalamel, a man who was cursed with eternal life, noticed this and, in an attempt to end his curse, revived Nightmare as a completely sentient being. Since he wasn't in a host's body, his mutation advanced even more quickly. The two clashed again and the raw energy actually revived Algol himself, who created the Tower of Rememberance. His desires were simple: take back Soul Calibur and Soul Edge to stay alive and be the king of the world, just like he formally was.
This plan, like his two former plans, failed and Nightmare actually succeeded to kill both Algol and Siegfried, having become more powerful than the two warriors. His victory was short lived though, as Zasalamel managed to kill him. Since that time, the Cursed Blade and the Spirit Sword have been dormant...
Until recently. Around 50 years after Nightmare's death, a young man found the remaining shards of the Cursed Blade, which was dramatically weakened. Its power was strong enough to slightly corrupt him, making him search and find the other pieces of Soul Edge. Being as reckless and loud-mouthed as he was, everyone quickly learned of his antics.
A few years later, he had many shards of Soul Edge, which was growing more powerful. He slowly but surely became corrupted, eventually wielding a huge demonic sword much like Nightmare did, albeit an even more brutal one. He has been heard saying that whoever joined him would benefit from his power, and that whoever opposed him would be fed to the Cursed Blade.
Naturally, people joined him and people opposed him while some simply pursued a personal goal. Nonetheless, it has almost become a war, with a few names standing out. Instead of armies though, it's more of a war between many small groups, all with particular goals. Whether it be to rule the world, test their strength or simply protect their country. His name was Colin Powell.
And now, the tale of souls and swords which is eternally retold goes on... How to Keep your Soul Pure and Healthy (click to showhide) 1. All GTS+ roleplay and forum rules apply. 2. Being literate is important. Typos are acceptable but please try your best to use grammar, punctuation, layout and spelling properly for the sake of the other players. 3. Short posts are acceptable as long as they are critically relevant - posts should be at least five sentences long whenever it's possible. 4. Be as descriptive as possible! 5. You can have as many characters as you want... just don't go overboard and don't put 'em all in the same group. I have the right to tell you that you have enough characters. Also, make sure you can keep up with your characters. 6. Try to keep it PG-13... Blood, swearing and romance to be used in moderation. 7. Put the name of Soul Edge's First Bearer's son in the appropriate section of your sign-up so I know you read the rules and the plot. 8. No killing other people's characters, of course. (Unless you have some kind of crazy resurrection plan...) 9. Please, don't post right when someone posts after you. Let everyone post at their own pace. At least give people some time to post. Also, be sure to tell people in this thread when you are writing a post so you don't write it only to be beaten by another RPer, which could ruin your post. Also, respect the RPer who takes his time to post and give him or her the time they need. 10. I have the right to refuse a profile if the grammar of the RPer is not good enough for me (I doubt that will happen though. ). I want decent RPers. 11. Please, be patient, people (including me *gasp*) have lives and may not have time or the inspiration to post, say, five times everyday. Furthermore, some people like having detailed posts (like me) and have to work on it a bit. Also, most of us will probably have school too, so patience is a must. 12. Even if another member posts a big post, please read it completely and do not ignore it. They have put time and effort into it, so they wouldn't want that work to be wasted. I'm sure you wouldn't like that either. Same goes for small posts. If, however, you simply cannot manage to do a decent post with what was given, then just kindly tell the RPer to make their post bigger or to add more info in it. 13. If you want your character to be the leader, princess, prince, w/e of a kingdom, you can. However, it must be a fictional kingdom, for example, Wolfkrone, and you must state where it is located. 14. If you plan on joining, make sure that you will actually have time to be active here. Having people drop out in the middle of the RP, quite frankly, sucks. Activity decrease should be notified in the OOC thread. Got all that? Still interested? Cool! Then just fill out this nifty little thing to the best of your ability. Your Guide to Being a Knight (click to showhide) CODE Name: First and last name; middle names optional. Make the names fit their nationality. Also, if, for example, your character is Japanese, put their last name before their first name. (Like Heishiro Mitsurugi, for example. His first name isn't Heishiro; it's Mitsurugi.)
Nickname(s): Any nickname your character may have - n/a if he or she has none. (For example, Ivy was but a nickname for Isabella)
Age: Anywhere over 13. Exceptions may be allowed if you have a good reason.
Gender: 'It' is also acceptable as a gender if you've been corrupted by Soul Edge (Nightmare) or have been created by other means than natural human birth (Astaroth). Yes, this means that you can be from an alternate dimension (needs a very good reason) or even an android (Ashlotte).
What Color is Your Soul?: Blue (Good). Red (Evil). White (Neutral). You choose.
Birthplace: Where is your character from? No America or Australia. You don't have to be precise, but it would be nice, I guess. For the sake of simplicity, put the modern name. Please.
Occupation: Does your character have a job? (For example, Sophitia was a Baker, Cervantes was a Pirate and Ivy was an Alchemist.)
Weapon: Simple. State what your character's weapon is. No guns, please. If you can find a picture, great. If not, then try to describe it.
Appearance: Be descriptive, include clothes and any items your character may carry with them. At least a paragraph - pictures are acceptable but a written description is still needed.
Personality: Any character trait, strength or weakness, likes and dislikes, be sure to mention it all here. At least a paragraph.
Biography: Your character's past, any major events, family life, occupations, etc. At least a paragraph. The story starts in the cursed city of Ostrheinsburg, so finish this when your character arrives there. If Good, how did they learn about the new Nightmare's antics and why do they want to stop him? If Evil, how did they learn about the new Nightmare's antics and why do/did they want to join him? If Neutral, simply state their thoughts on the current situation.
Read the Rules?: Then prove it.
Others: Anything else? If you've been mutated, corrupted or are being used as a host for Soul Edge, please mention if it gave you powers. (For example, Nightmare could make himself explode with evil energy; Raphael and Amy basically became vampires, Voldo seemed to have no bones and Cervantes could teleport and float around.) The allegiance is simply to indicate the nature of your character's goals and intentions. Two characters on the Good Side can hate each other and even fight regularly. A Good character may also kill other Good characters (NPCs of course) if their goals and intentions leads them to do that. Same goes with Evil characters. Neutral characters have no particular allegiance, so they can help Good and Evil characters as they see fit. They can be friends with Evil characters but not share their goals, intentions, etc. Your character may change allegiances throughout the story. However, if you plan on making them switch between Evil and Good repeatedly, you're better off making them Neutral. If your character comes in contact with Soul Edge, they are expected to get corrupted a bit. They cannot be like Algol and resist its influence completely. Those with fragments of Soul Edge can talk to Inferno, who will mostly feign helping them in their goals and lead them to the sword itself. When Soul Calibur is introduced, the characters that comes in contact with it will also be able to talk to the spirit inside it. Soul Edge is to be refered to as a male and Soul Calibur as a female. Soul Calibur, as opposed to Inferno, is genuinely nice and generally speaks great words of wisdom, usually in cryptic messages. She does have a slight sense of humor though. Being in contact with either Soul Edge itself or one of its fragment can lead to many things. First, the Cursed Blade may corrupt your mind into making you find more fragments to revive itself. A change in personality, such as cockiness or becoming more violent can be observed. Prolonged exposure to multiple fragments can corrupt the mind further, such as bringing insanity (Tira, for example, developped a split personality), and can start making the body mutate, such as growing a bigger, spiked arm (like Nightmare), changing your skin's color (Necrid) or make stranger changes (becoming a vampire, like Raphael and Amy is an example). If Soul Edge ever chooses you as its host (it can have multiple hosts, as seen by Nightmare, Cervantes and Tira), it will continually bug you to harvest souls, which can only be done by killing people. The stronger the victim is, the most satisfying the soul will be. However, since Soul Edge can never be truly satisfied, it will always ask for more souls. This can easily drive someone to insanity. If you aren't used to the world of Soul Calibur, use this site to help you. You can make your characters the descendants of existing characters if you want, but that's your problem since you need to make the stories connect and all that. Who's Soul Has Survived the Test of Time? (click to showhide) Some of the original characters are still alive. I shall be the one who controls them BUT you can ask me for permission, whether it be permanent or temporary, since I'll primarly use them to make some action.
Astaroth Cervantes Charade Lizardman Olcadan Talim Voldo Yoshimitsu Yun-Seong Zasalamel
They are basically thought of as legends. The rest are dead. (However, you may request for some characters to be alive, though I'll need a reason.) Who Are The Valiant Souls?Good (click to showhide) Ideki Emiko (Darkrow) (click to showhide) Name: Ideki Emiko Nickname(s): Crusher Kunoichi, Emi, Emi-Chan (by Mayumi), Emi-Sensei (by Mayumi), Sensei (by Mayumi) Age: 20 Gender: Female What Color is Your Soul?: Blue Birthplace: Aomori, Japan Occupation: Kunoichi, Demon Huntress and Historian. Weapon: A gigantic hammer with a face and a spiked handle. Can talk and is named Hakaishi. Emiko also has access to many traditional ninja weapons, such as shurikens, kunais, ropes and smoke bombs. Actually, Hakaishi is a demon that Emiko sealed inside a giant hammer, which effectively made the hammer alive. Hakaishi, while wise, acts extremely silly and doesn't like cooperating with his "master" unless threatened or if she's in danger. He taunts everyone, including Emiko, often and likes killing people. Sadly for him, Emiko doesn't. He's very whiny and complains about anything and everything, which often leads to some fairly comical arguments between him and Emiko. He seems to have a strong dislike of Mayumi too, liking to annoy her and frequently insulting her, which usually leads to Emiko scolding him. However, he does care for Emiko to an extent and he knows her well, well enough to know what she's thinking most of the time. Also, Emiko, despite the fact that he annoys her, still considers him as a friend and is attached to him in a way. He's also prone to worry about her well-being during fights. Appearance: Emiko is a very tall girl, being 7'2" and weighing around 250 pounds, most of it being muscle, as seen by her ability to fling her gigantic weapon around with ease. She has black braided hair and pale blue eyes. She has a bit of eye shadow around her eyes, but it's mostly for show. She has a red headband with a yellow design too. She wears a dark red shirt with a lot of armor, which is similar to a samurai's even though she's a kunoichi. Her left shoulder pad is blue and her right one is red. She has a long armored glove on her left arm and a normal one on her right arm. She has a red fauld tied around her waist and has many kunai packs on it, which she can use rather skillfully. Her lower wear consists of dark green checkered hakama that are slit on the inside of her legs, revealing her black underwear. The border of her red spiky boots can also be seen. Her boots are made of steel, of course, and the tip of the foot is pointy. Personality: Emiko is usually very serious and strict, rarely even cracking a smile in normal circumstances. She also tends to be silent and to keep things to herself, which may annoy people she doesn't know well. The reason, however, is simple: she knows that if she talks too much she may hurt someone's feelings by accident, so she prefers staying silent and only saying what she deems to be necessary. Most of the time though, Emiko, despite her silence, is quite nice and helpful, often using her herculean strength to help her friends or people in need. She also seems permanently calm and serene, even when fighting a powerful opponent. In fact, she very rarely manages to get stressed so when she is nervous you know that something's wrong. She isn't the kind to tell jokes and she has a dry sense of humor. However, she will chuckle at jokes other tell, although she'll rarely laugh out loud unless she's in a wonderful, ecstatic mood. If she's in said mood, she'll always have a wide smile on her face and will generally be more talkative than usual. Emiko's silence can make it hard to discern her emotions. Her facial expression will stay mostly the same throughout both anger and sadness, although her eyes will probably reflect her current state of mind quite clearly. Mayumi and Hakaishi, however, can easily distinguish her emotions, the latter sometimes guesses wrong though. Also, her tone will change slightly depending on how she feels. She'll be a bit more dry if angry and a bit more hesitant when sad. She tends to be sarcastic most of the time though and may come off as rude to some people, something she more often than not doesn't mean to do. She's also fairly blunt and doesn't seem very good at socializing, another thing that makes her come off as rude sometimes. She usually goes straight to the point and doesn't dance around the subject. A good thing about Emiko, however, is that she is honest and loyal. She will never lie, no matter how hard it is, since, after all, lying only leads to more trouble. Also, she will stay loyal to her friends to the very end unless they betray her, in which case they're probably screwed and will probably die squished by Hakaishi. When saddened, the Crusher Kunoichi will do her best to avoid eye contact and restrain tears. She can get very emotional at times, so her eyes may get watery from time to time. When she cries for real though, she usually walks away from whoever is there to be alone. This is because she is a bit prideful and doesn't want to hurt her reputation. Emiko rarely gets angry. Instead, she gets either annoyed or disappointed, depending on the situation. However, when she does get angry, stay outta way. She will still be silent, but any slight comment will earn you a wonderful punch in the face and, if you continue even though your nose is broken, a good swing from Hakaishi. She can't control her strength when angry and surely a few trees will be snapped in half. Although she's almost always calm, it's very hard to calm her down when angered, ironically. She tends to hold vicious grudges too. Also, while she's usually polite, Emiko will start using coarse language more and more as she gets annoyed and, eventually, angered. Her best friend is Mayumi, as shown by the fact that the two are almost always together. She's the more calm, level-headed one of the Kunoichi duo, although she can be funny if given the chance to. It's a different kind of funny than Mayumi though which, along with Hakaishi's silliness, makes a pretty amusing combination. She cares deeply for Mayumi and treats her like a sister. She's the one who keeps her in check and makes sure she doesn't cause too much trouble. She has given her the permission to call her "Emiko" or just "Emi", but the stubborn Mayumi refuses to, much to her slight annoyance. Since she never gave her permission to stop using honorifics after her name, she still calls her "Mayumi-Chan". Even though she has noticed that her friend has had a strange change of behavior lately, she still hasn't voiced her observations, not deeming it to be needed right now. However, she frequently needs to calm the (much) shorter girl often, which she is quite good at. Deep inside, she's suspecting that something might be wrong with her, but keeps denying it, thinking that it's "just a phase she's going through". She tends to be a slight worrywart when it comes to Mayumi too. Her relationship with Hakaishi is a bit shaky. While they argue a lot and the talking hammer is generally annoying her, they do dare some kind of bond. Sometimes they hate each other and sometimes they need each other. In a fight though, they both ditch the bitching and work together almost flawlessly. Emiko usually holds Hakaishi so that he can see behind her and alert her if someone tries to attack her from behind. They are a deadly team which, combined with the wonderful archer that is Mayumi, makes the Kunoichi duo very hard to beat, especially when together. Emiko dislikes fighting and only fights when needed, unlike Mayumi and Hakaishi, who try to pick fights with others sometimes. She has very good knowledge of history and knows a lot about what has happened during the conflict between Siegfried and Nightmare and often talks about it. More often than not though, she confuses people when she does. She has the habit of watching birds and sitting under trees to relax in her free time. Birds even seem to like her and find her presence calming, therefore they don't flee from her and don't attack either. She can even tell if someone is around or the general aura of an area just by seeing if there are birds around or their reactions. She seems to like nature too, since she dislikes killing animals and always mentally scolds herself when she destroys trees when angered. She greatly enjoys reading in her free time too. Biography: Born in Aomori, Japan, Emiko was the daughter of two ninjas, which was similar to her friend Mayumi. She was always fascinated by the world of weapons, mythology and history. She and Mayumi became quick friends, even being neighbors, and they spent most of their time playing ninjas, knights and warriors with sticks. Also, as surprising as it may sound, Emiko was actually shorter than Mayumi as a child. When she wasn't spending time with her neighbor, who she considered a sister, she was learning about either demons, monsters or the history of Soul Edge and Soul Calibur. She was fascinated by those things and was considered weird for liking history. She didn't care though, and continued learning. She wasn't as much of a handful as her neighbor, she was more of a quiet child that read silently in her room, not disturbing anyone. At 12, she and Mayumi officially started their Kunoichi training. By that time, Emiko was already much taller than Mayumi and her parents, which was quite an amazing sight. She was taught the art of using Kuji-In, kunai, shuriken, swords, smoke bombs, daggers, staves and spears along with being stealthy and silent, the latter wasn't a problem, of course. This was very tough for the young girl, as she also wanted to learn, so she forced herself to stay up multiple days without sleeping, which soon developped into her insomnia. Similarly to Mayumi, she soon stopped using the traditional ninja weapons to use a large hammer which, with her amazing strength, she could fling around effortlessly. However, unlike her friend, she didn't completely stop using the weapons and still has some with her. While Mayumi became a blacksmith, she continued learning about history and demons. After two years, when both her and her "sister" were 14, they were both seperated to hone their skills and while Mayumi stayed home, Emiko had gone to explore Japan. Emiko, during that time, hunted demons and sealed quite a lot into objects she had with her. A noticeably strong one was defeated by her through intellect though, since brute force didn't work. She sealed him into her hammer, having run out of objects. The demon, named Hakaishi, was so powerful that he became the hammer. While, at first, Emiko was surprised and, quite honestly, frightened, Hakaishi accepted his fate and actually offered to help her in her "quest". The Crusher Kunoichi, while doubtful, accepted the offer. And it paid off, the two formed a powerful, albeit slightly argument-happy, team and hunted many, many demons across Japan. They learned to know each other and became friends, although they argued and bitched often at each other. Emiko often lost her cool at him, but she learned to control herself and remain calm in almost any situation, so she owes the demon one. Some demons almost managed to defeat her while some barely had time to move. The whole "training" took two years, so she came back to Aomori with Hakaishi when she was 16. She was welcomed by an ecstatic Mayumi. Emiko had grown a lot during her journey, now being almost two feet taller than Mayumi. She introduced Hakaishi to her and let's just say that their relationship didn't start quite well since they both started yelling at each other. Soon after she came back, Mayumi wanted to create a bow, but she also liked swords. Emiko then proposed for her to combine a sword and a bow to make an unique weapon. Her friend instantly and gleefully accepted the idea and had created the powerful Yamiyo in a matter of days. It was then that Mayumi seemed to change a bit, although Emiko didn't comment on it. Since Mayumi had stayed in Aomori to train her blacksmith skills along with her kunoichi skills while Emiko had gone to hunt demons, Emiko was now "better" than Mayumi, in a sense. However, with the addition of Yamiyo, it was safe to say that they were equal. For the next two years, Emiko continued studying history along with training. She learned a lot about Soul Edge and Soul Calibur that time, moreso than her previous studying sessions, which were more general. This time, it was precise information with detailed description of each sword. It was actually a book written by Isabella Valentine, who was often called Ivy, so she ignored the alchemy stuff. A year later, when her 20th birthday was approaching, she heard rumors about the pieces of Soul Edge being found by a man named Colin Powell. She went on a small journey to see if it was true. She found an old man that seemed to be quite wise and he confirmed the rumors with proof, all leading towards Ostrheinsburg. A herd of Lizardmen had attacked multiple kingdoms, leaving some completely destroyed, rumors of the Black Giant resurfacing were starting to be heard and some otherworldly creatures were sighted, like Voldo. She went back to Aomori after two days and decided to learn about Ostrheinsburg more. Known as the Cursed City, Ostrheinsburg was the hideout for Nightmare and it seems shrouded in pure evil energy. Logically, if Soul Edge was being reawakened, it would wish to go back to its old "home", so the new Nightmare would probably settle there. Not wanting another monster to come back, the Lizardmen, the Black Giant and Voldo were more than enough along with the multiple demons prowling the land, Emiko decided to go to Ostrheinsburg. To her surprise though, Mayumi begged her to come, which was strange since she normally wouldn't want to go there and would beg for Emiko not to go there since it was dangerous. At first, the strict Emiko refused, but she eventually gave in and accepted Mayumi's company. Hakaishi, of course, didn't want her to come, but he was ignored as usual. So they set out towards the Cursed City of Ostrheinsburg, where not even wild animals dare enter... Others: Emiko is able to use Kuji-In techniques, although they greatly drain her of her energy. Therefore, she uses them sparingly. Despite wielding Hakaishi as her main weapon, being disarmed isn't a problem with her. She is a skilled martial artist, being able to defeat people with swords while disarmed. She can also wield multiple weapons quite efficiently, like kunai, shuriken, swords, daggers, staves and spears. However, she is much, much stronger and comfortable when using Hakaishi. She also dislikes being compared to the legendary Taki, Astaroth or Rock. She seems to have insomnia. Is currently with Mayumi. Trofim Halak (Darkrow) (click to showhide) Name: Trofim Halak Nickname(s): The Grey Giant. He is not related to Rock or Astaroth, he is simply named that for his large size and grey hair. Age: 75. Gender: Male. What Color is Your Soul?: Blue. Birthplace: Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. Occupation: Poet. Weapon: Steel gauntlets with claws. Most of the time, he doesn't even need to use them. The claws, while only a few inches long, can be retracted at will. Named Sila. Appearance: Trofim may be old, but the mere sight of him might scare some people. He's 7' tall and weighs around 424 pounds of muscle. Quite a frightening sight indeed. His eyes are brown and his hair is, obviously, grey. It's a bit long and curly and the same could be said about his beard, which is the length of his neck. He has a scar above his left eyebrow and a small one on his nose. Trofim's entire body is worthy of a modern day's bodybuilder; you can see his veins pop out when he tenses up. His very defined muscles, complete with a wonderful six-pack, are covered with small scars from previous fights from men and animal alike. He wears a very loose red cloak with no hood and a black and yellow rim. However, he tends to only wear the right sleeve and let the rest hang down. It is tied to his waist by a black and white rope. His rope belt also has long yellow and black flaps. His weapon is often tied to his belt by a string. For lower wear, he wears black pants held by his rope belt. His legs have bigger scars than his upper body. One on his right thigh is so disgusting that he actually bandaged it. He wears sandals with yellow shin protectors. Personality: Trofim's appearance betrays his amusing personality. He makes a lot of jokes, laughs often and likes to drink. Needless to say, he's quite the fun old man to have around. He likes to tease people with his size, but it's obvious that he's not serious. In fact, he rarely is serious, being a goofy idiot most of the time, his Russian accent and distinctive speech pattern only making him seem sillier. He's a kind old man at heart and he likes joking about stereotypes, such as how old people will eternally ramble about boring stories. It shows that he knows how to laugh at himself and he wants people to learn how to make fun of themselves. He has the habit of calling his friends "brother" or "sister", depending on their gender. In fact, he only calls people by their names if he's being formal. He may also had their surname or family name to this "title". The only one he calls by her name all the time is his maid, Naomi Kobayashi, who accompanies him everywhere. The two are very close despite the age difference and consider each other as family. Very protective of Naomi, he will go to great lengths to protect her or save her. He also shows a lot of worry when she goes missing. This is probably because she's the daughter he never had and dreamed of having. As such, he takes good care of her and actually finds it awkward that she decided to be his maid and assistant, making their relationship a strange, yet very strong, one. A likeable big man, people will rarely find Trofim mean or annoying since he's just too nice with people. He knows how to use his herculean strength to help people and only uses it to hurt people when he fights. He has control over his strength, so he won't accidently hurt someone. He is polite upon first meeting him and will quickly become the foolish and funny old man he really is. He doesn't take insults to others lightly, yet doesn't care for being insulted himself. Probably because people are rarely foolish enough to taunt a man of his size. No matter how nice and funny Trofim is, he does have a more serious side, though it rarely shows. He'll often stroke his beard with his index and his thumb and that grin of his will disappear. Here, he won't tolerate foolishness since he'll only be serious in important situations. He'll speak louder to make himself heard loud and clear. Being a poet, he has a few poetic moments that he'll just have to say. He can be a bit depressed when reminded of family and such, but he can live with it. He'll just look a bit saddened and nostalgic. He's good at giving advice due to his advanced age and he tries to help as much as he can. His angry side is not something you want to see, even though he'll only lash out at who angered him. He almost literally becomes a monster and will go on a frightening, yet silent rage. He won't say anything, letting his actions speak for themselves. In this state, Naomi is the only one able to calm him down, but it takes time and he'll still stay annoyed. Biography: Born in Russia in a moderately wealthy family, Trofim has experienced the time when Nightmare was alive. He has also experienced The Evil Seed, which drove his parents insane and resulted in them killing each other. Trofim was 18 at that time and was already quite the tall young man, being 6'5" at that time. He would grow an additional seven inches over the following years. Fearing for his life, the young Trofim traveled to Japan, hoping that he would get protection there from whatever had caused the bright light to erupt into the sky. He lived in a small inn for a while, having nightmares about his parents every night. His paranoia drove him to train to be strong enough to protect himself since he was tall but lanky and weak. However, his fears became reality as the Azure Knight attacked the small village he had settled in. He was 23 when this happened. He had grown a lot stronger and much more courageous, yet the sight of the Azure Knight paralyzed him with fear. Luckily, the young man was hiding and Nightmare hadn't seen him. This had been the scariest thing he had to live through; seeing the Azure Knight glance at the destroyed village, searching for survivors to satisfy his insatiable thirst for souls. Two years later, news that Soul Edge and Soul Calibur were lost arrived, relieving him greatly. He then traveled around Europe to train and strengthen his body, of which the results can clearly be seen today. He was known by the Japanese citizens as The Grey Giant. It was a bit strange how a Russian man ended up living in Japan and ended up being known and respected by them instead of being rejected and feared. The next interesting event happened when he was 70 years old. An inn had been attacked by bandits and Trofim, being near the dramatic event, went to help. He saved a lot of people, including a young 13 year old girl named Naomi Kobayashi. Her parents had died in the fire and Trofim felt pity for the heartbroken girl, so he offered for her to stay with him until she felt better. It turns out that she liked the old man's company and decided to stay with him to help him as much as she could to return his niceness. The two grew close and Trofim eventually became her adoptive father. As five more years passed, Trofim heard some news that frightened him to the core: Soul Edge was back, apparently. He had told the story to Naomi, so she was afraid too. The Russian man was terrified at the idea of a new Nightmare prowling the land. Therefore, he and Naomi both head for Ostrheinsburg in the hopes of stopping this new menace. Trofim may be old, but his time is far from over. Others: His alcohol tolerance level is extremely high, resulting in him never getting drunk. He sometimes has violent nightmares too. Evil (click to showhide) Larke Eischer (Darkrow) (click to showhide) Name: Larke Eischer Nickname(s): N/A Age: 16 Gender: Female. What Color is Your Soul?: Red. Birthplace: Ilanz, Surselva, District of Graubaüden, Switzerland Occupation: None. Weapon: A fancy sword with no name infused with a large number of Soul Edge fragments. She also has two ten feet long chains that she wraps around her arms. Appearance: Larke is rather thin and short, being only 110 pounds despite being 5'6". She has short purple hair with a long fringe and even longer sidelocks. Her eyes are crimson. She wears a blood red flower with a large flowy ribbon attached to it on the side of her head. She also has a purple and red choker along with two red pearl necklaces, one slightly longer than the other. She wears a beautiful purple and white dress with many elaborate details. Frills, complicated designs and such can be seen on her dress. She wears sleeves that aren't a part of her dress, therefore, they stop at her upper arm. They are flowy and darker than her dress and much simpler in design. She also keeps her nails long and paints them purple. While her dress reaches her shins, she still wears black panties (duh) and long purple socks with a floral design on them. They reach her thighs. She wears high heels, purple of course, as footwear, boosting her height to 5'8". Personality: Most of the time, Larke is apathetic and doesn't really care about what's going on around her. She will find almost everything mundane and without interest, resulting in her being trapped in what seems to be eternal boredom. Due to this, she yawns often and always seeks to be entertained, which often, if not always, fails. Even in life threatening situations she'll be yawning and be bored. During discussions, she is not afraid to speak her mind and even walk away if she deems it too boring. In an often futile attempt to kill her boredom, she has the tendency to taunt people in order to get them to snap or to argue. As seen by her fighting style, she is also very disrespectful, not even respecting Inferno himself. There are slight hints that she may even hate herself, though she generally sees herself as superior to others. Either of these could be true. Larke, while lacking most emotions in most occasions, tends to be rather unlikeable due to her taunts and snarky comments. She is also highly sarcastic and has what you may call a dry sense of humor. Furthermore, nothing seems to scare her and she can face the most dangerous of threats calmly, which is a great asset because her calmness can help her make wiser decisions. Very calm and relaxed, Larke always seems to have something to say when someone insults her or talks to her. However, she has a peculiar hate of people, so she'll be silent unless spoken to and is very antisocial. In fact, she could be described as socially awkward since she has no idea on how to comfort someone. Not like she would, but still. She also doesn't seem to care about anyone other than herself. Unmatched in sword fighting, Larke takes pride in her skills. As shown by how she wiped out an entire village by herself at a young age, you could say that Larke has a good reason to be prideful. Along with her eternal boredom, she seems to have a lust for power, as shown by how she stole a sword simply to have power. Some Soul Edge followers probably fear her for that reason or because they fear her attacking the leader. However, Larke is somewhat content with her current situation, so it's alright. Most of the time, Larke's voice is dull and monotone, which goes well with her emotionless, yet freaky, icy eyes. Due to all the souls she absorbed thanks to her sword, she has extreme skills in using many weapons, though her sword remains her weapon of choice. She also seems to get flustered or annoyed whenever someone tries to take her sword away, as she is very possessive of it. She is extremely sadistic and loves seeing people hurt, physically, mentally or both; her being the cause of it makes it even better. She considers screams to be melodious and soothing, even though they obviously aren't. It's often thought that Larke has a twisted of reality to hide from her still unknown fears (except one that is known) and that she is highly delusional at times. If you manage to stump her or bug her enough, she will snap. And at those times, hell, you better be a fast runner. She will scream at you and become amazingly bloodthirsty, becoming hell-bent on torture the crap out of you and make you suffer. In her rage, she will also drink your blood and enjoy it greatly. Her explosive usually causes her to have splitting headaches immediately after calming down thanks to The Vengeful Ones. Larke is continuously tormented by The Vengeful Ones, who are an amalgamation of all the souls of people she killed with her sword. Obviously, these souls want to torment Larke enough to make her snap, make rash decisions and eventually die, which would let them rest in peace. However, Larke prefers to let people rest in pieces and has, so far, managed to resist and survive. The more people she kills, the more powerful they'll be. When Larke is getting annoyed, that's when they spring into action and taunt her, trying to annoy her further and go over her patience's limits. However, sometimes they try to annoy her all of a sudden, causing her to clutch her head in pain and mutter to herself to calm herself down or shut them up, usually both. This is also one of the only times where she loses her cool and becomes visibly panicked, though she will calm down instantly once they shut up. This can happen at any time. Larke is the victim of violent nightmares, which usually results in her muttering, talking, screaming and moving in her sleep, depending on the intensity of said nightmare. She rarely has peaceful nights and relies on luck to get some rest. The Vengeful Ones appear as nightmarish shadows and they actually attack her in her sleep, causing real pain. They are probably the only thing Larke truly fears. She can calm herself down very easily though and pain means next to nothing for her when it's only a dull ache or a small headache. She may hallucinate upon waking up for a bit or be confused and dizzy. While she is an extremely powerful fighter, Larke has, like everyone, weaknesses. She is horrible when she has to fight alongside someone because she is used to order people around and people don't tend to let themselves be ordered around. Even in the rare occasion that her partner will obey her orders, she still has trouble coordinating her attacks with her partner's. Therefore, it's better for her to fight alone while her partner fights alone. Ordering her around is useless, by the way. The Vengeful Ones also tend to strike during battles, which is a huge weakness by itself. Another weakness is that, while Larke is intelligent (though nowhere near a genius' level, of course), she can make extremely rash decisions that can cost her dearly. Whether it be for underestimating her opponent or just a lousy attempt to get rid of her boredom, it often gets her into trouble. Luckily for her, she always seems to take care of it and stay alive. Finally, she has the bad habit of severely underestimating her opponents the first time around, which can lead to some sticky situations. However, she won't make the same mistake twice, meaning that your second fight with her will probably be much harder. Biography: Born in a small village of peasants, Larke seemed to be doomed to live an average life as a peasant. She wished for more, but obviously wouldn't get her wish granted. Her village did have some guards to protect them from thieves and such. All in all, it was a nice little community and everyone knew each other. Larke's parents were overprotective though, and she wasn't allowed to stay outside on her own. One day though, she snuck out while her parents were working and found a small metal fragment. Upon touching it, a voice echoed in her mind, greatly startling her since she was only 6. The voice promised to make her wishes come true and the young Larke naďvely believed the voice. When she agreed to help him, as it was a male voice, the fragment instantly penetrated inside her skin, causing her to yelp slightly in surprise. The voice then ordered for her to kill one of the guards and steal their weapon. Larke, of course, objected but was completely manipulated by the voice and killed the guard by burning him alive during the night. She took his sword and, due to her young age, was easily manipulated by the voice, who called himself Inferno, to kill her parents and then her entire village, which meant a few dozen of people. Since she had no skills whatsoever with a sword, Inferno just told her what to do and she obeyed. As years passed, Inferno made Larke gather more fragments and absorb souls, which slowly corrupted her. Her hair became purple and her eyes became crimson. All those she killed had their souls sent into her mind, causing her to hear voices at all times, which she called The Vengeful Ones. Her personality greatly changed and she was an overall much different person. Now 16, she heard about Colin Powell and, interested about his so-called "power", decided to go to Ostrheinsburg to experience this "power" herself. Others: Soul Edge has granted Larke the powers of telekinesis and telepathy. Kraylle Limo (Darkrow) (click to showhide) Name: Kraylle Limo Nickname(s): Cascade. Age: Stopped counting long ago. Gender: Genderless. What Color is Your Soul?: Red. Birthplace: Hell. Occupation: None. Weapon: Its own body. Appearance: In its original form, Kraylle simply looks like an odd dark blue blob with a red core and an indeterminate shape. Kraylle cannot talk when like this. However, Kraylle rarely uses that form and prefers using its female form. When like this, Kraylle takes the form of a fairly voluptuous woman with red eyes. Its "hair" seems to be short cornrows with an exceedingly long tuft of hair left out on front. The sides are always dripping, as are her feet and hands. It tends to stand at 6'5". Personality: Kraylle seems to be born to cause trouble. It's cocky and selfish, although it doesn't mind working in teams. Always seeming calm and focused, Kraylle can be the complete opposite at times. It often follows its own orders, completely ignoring orders that it is given. Because of that, it often gets in arguments with its partners. Fairly violent, Kraylle takes full advantage of its ability to morph into anything and frequently makes its hands into circular blades, swords, hammers and the likes to fight. Extremely potent fighter because of its body's nature, it can be almost impossible to beat unless you manage to hit it's weak spot (which I will not reveal~). It can become tired though, like any other living being. Unable to be saddened, it can however feel guilt perfectly well, although it is rare. Angering it is fairly easy, you just need to keep throwing insults until it snaps, although this isn't really recommended. It mostly stays quiet and rarely talks and, when it does, is mostly sarcastic and cynical. Since its "normal" form is that of a visually attractive woman despite its slimy texture, it often takes advantage of it and tries seducing males of other species to gain their trust so it can watch them cry and even become suicidal because it betrayed them. It doesn't seem to have any moral standards, killing women and children without remorse in rather gruesome fashion, like going inside them and making them explode when it is feeling sadistic and cruel. Biography: Born in Hell, Kraylle was a particularly powerful demon. It enjoyed tormenting other demons and was generally feared by them. It soon grew accustomed to using a female form of a visually attractive woman to trick people and such. Hell became boring after a while though, and Kraylle wanted to have more fun, to cause more trouble, so it went to Earth to torment humans. When Nightmare was around, it was interested by the power of Soul Edge, but didn't have time to set out to gain power from it that Nightmare was defeated. Therefore, it went back to tormenting humans, having fun kill them and such. Recently, it found out that Soul Edge was being revived, so it immediately set out for Ostrheinsburg to see that power for itself. Others: Its voice changes depending on what form it is in. A female will have a feminine voice and a male will have a masculine voice. It cannot talk if it's an animal or an object. Neutral (click to showhide) Queen Natalie-Emmanuelle De Larocheličre (Darkrow) (click to showhide) Name: Queen Natalie-Emmanuelle De Larocheličre Nickname(s): La Colombe Noire (The Black Dove), Natalie, Nat. Age: 32 Gender: Female What Color is Your Soul?: White Birthplace: Loralle Kingdom, Paris, France. Occupation: Queen of the Loralle Kingdom, located in France. Weapon: A very long broadsword and a small dagger used for emergency measures. Sword is called Corbeau and dagger is called Corneille. Appearance: Natalie-Emmanuelle is a fairly regular woman silhouette-wise, maybe a bit thin, being 5'6" and weighing near 115 pounds. She has hazel eyes and very long pitch-black hair that reach her feet. She wears an elegant white dress under a charcoal armor with large shoulder pads, which gives her a strong, almost intimidating look. Her gauntlets make her fingers look almost demon-like too. The dress reaches her knees, which are covered by long brown leggings. She has black greaves that reach her shins. Personality: A determined woman with the fate of her whole kingdom on her shoulders, Natalie tends to be distant when others are around, although it's just because she has a kingdom to save, otherwise she's a fairly nice woman. She is well-known as The Black Dove (La Colombe Noire, in French), a knight who has never lost a single fight. The mere mention of her nickname can strike fear in many warriors' hearts, even though not many know that she's actually the queen of the Loralle Kingdom. Despite her fairly intimidating aura, which her large sword only manages to make even stronger, Natalie is actually a big softie deep inside. She wouldn't hurt a fly unless she had to. She always seems to be a bit lost in her thoughts, which is understandable when you know the current situation in her kingdom. There's also the fact that most of her family died thanks to the recent events in her kingdom, which has left her somewhat scarred. She is still mourning their death since it has happened very recently and may be a bit sensitive. Not a big fan of sword fighting (or battle in general), she is still an amazing fighter nonetheless, although she avoids conflict whenever it's possible. This is probably due to her thanatophobia though. She is, in fact, extremely scared of death; so much that seeing people die scares her too. Therefore, the fact that the almost complete destruction of her kingdom has greatly scarred and traumatised her is quite understandable when you know this. Not a lot frightens her, but the things that do are crippling to her, since she usually freezes from fear. She absolutely hates this part of her and is often screaming at herself mentally that she's nothing but a coward and that she needs to snap out of it, usually in vain. She also blames herself for what has happened to her kingdom. While bad, this is also good since she is pretty much hell-bent on rebuilding it and this guilt fuels her desire to do so. She holds a very violent grudge against Aeon Calcos, known as Lizardman, for destroying her kingdom with his Lizardmen. Thanks to this rather unfortunate event, she has gained the habit of killing any Lizardmen she might see, completely forgetting her fear of death. This habit, or rather, urge, to kill doesn't just apply to Lizardmen and Aeon Calcos, but to any reptile. You could say that she hates them. Sometimes, you can hear her giggle nervously when killing one. During the very rare times that she is completely and truly blissful, Natalie becomes silly, goofy and cheerful. She will laugh much more often and may even tell jokes. However, saddening her results in her going silent and maybe even emotional, as shown by her crying softly at times. Angering will make her act as if her offender was a Lizardman, which means she would be ready to kill. Luckily, she has almost legendary patience, so it's highly unlikely to happen. Family generally is a touchy subject. Biography: Born as the only daughter of Queen Anne and King Robert in Paris, France, Natalie was destined to become the Queen of the Loralle Kingdom, which her parents ruled together. The kingdom was flourishing and was very well-known (and feared) in all of Europe. Since she was born in a very rich royal family, she was, of course, spoiled to death. She could have anything she wanted and no one was allowed to whine or complain. Surprisingly, Natalie didn't abuse this power and was happy with whatever she found. In fact, she rarely demanded an object; she prefered earning the right to have it or finding it by herself. That's even how she found her dagger, Corneille. She found it on the ground at night when she had to go to the bathroom and decided to keep it. She didn't tell her parents about it though. After all, she was only 4 at the time. From that day forward, she developped a strong liking of swords and wanted to be a knight. Since that was what she wanted (despite how odd it was for someone with royal blood to be a mere knight), her parents granted her wish and hired an experienced knight to teach her how to fight with a sword. This, unsurprisingly, made the young girl happy. The experienced knight, Jérome, taught young Natalie how to defend herself with a sword. She was, quite honestly, a horrible sword fighter and Jérome was often very disappointed with her. Natalie continued training nonetheless, determined to become better. Her trainer liked her attitude though, which was good, and said that she would be a wonderful Queen one day. It took her 5 years to even start getting used to the basics. Luckily for her, Jérome was a good man with immense patience. She had grown very close to him during that time and considered him to be a second father while he thought of her as his daughter. The two were together very often, which was probably the reason why they had grown so close to each other. During those 5 years though, Jérome noticed something about Natalie: she had unbelievable strength for her age! Therefore, he opted to give her a large sword, which she could swing around easily. Of course, it was light for an adult, but for a normal 9 years old girl it was heavy. This only made her grow stronger. When the basics were done, Natalie almost literally blasted through the rest of the training. It was a breeze for her as it only took 5 more years when it should have taken three times as much time. Now 14, Natalie was still very close with Jérome. However, bad news soon arrived: King Robert was terminally ill and was on the brink of death. Her training was put on hiatus for moral reasons. She didn't want to train while her father was dying and that was perfectly understandable. He died a week after the news arrived, much to Natalie's immense dismay. Queen Anne was now the sole ruler of the Loralle Kingdom. This event, however, brought a rather interesting and problematic question into play. Since the King and the Queen only had one daughter, who would be the next King?! King Robert needed a successor and it ended up being Natalie's choice. It was simple; all she had to do is find a husband. There was no hurry either, but she had to make sure that he would be able to be a King worthy of Loralle. Once her mourning was over with, Natalie resumed her training with Jérome. As a gift, the kind old man gave her a large black sword. She baptised it Corbeau and it seemed to be made for her as she was able to use it extremely well without any training. Jérome decided to carry the training session outside one day (when Natalie was 18) because it was unnaturally hot inside the Loralle Castle. There, she met a few boys who watched her train. One in particular, named Victor, caught her attention. He seemed very nice and friendly and the girl actually befriended him. Jérome almost immediately knew that was it. She had found the next King of the Loralle Kingdom. She became best friends with Victor and he was exceptionally allowed inside Loralle Castle to watch Natalie train and to keep her company since, you see, he was but a commoner. After a few years, Natalie's mother grew older and older and was soon going to kick the bucket. During that time, Natalie and Victor had fallen in love with each other and this had created plenty of rumors. Some said that Victor just wanted power and was deceiving Natalie while others said that Natalie was just a fool for allowing a commoner to become King of Loralle. Eventually, Queen Anne died along with Jérome a week after the Queen of Loralle's death, making Natalie extremely sad once again, even though she had Victor by her side to console her. They were now King Victor and Queen Natalie. Natalie was now 28 and her husband was 27. Even though Natalie was fairly depressed, the Kingdom of Loralle was at its best. Then came the horrible attack of Aeon Calcos, known as the Reptilian Assault by historians. The greek warrior turned abomination targeted the Kingdom of Loralle and trashed the place completely. During the attack, King Victor had sacrificed himself to protect Natalie from a fatal attack by the original Lizardman himself. Seeing her husband die in front of her own eyes added to the mayhem and the mix of fire, blood and screaming was just too much and she fainted on the spot. Aeon, luckily, thought that his attack had killed her and left the destroyed Kingdom of Loralle behind. Only few had survived and escaped before they came back. When Natalie woke up, there was destruction all around her. Bloodied corpses, decapitated nobles, ruins, rubble, infernal flames envelopping the rare buildings that were still standing. The worst thing, however, was the limp body of King Victor laying down over her, his now lifeless eyes staring at her. This is what spawned her thanatophobia. Wondering why Aeon Calcos had attacked her Kingdom, she went to the nearest city to see a historian to ask him why he had attacked. Telling her about a man named Colin Powell, Soul Edge and the story behind them briefly, he told her that Ostrheinsburg, which was in Germany, could maybe help answer her questions. Grief-stricken and determined to save her kingdom, she heads to Ostrheinsburg. Others: Can speak French and has a slight accent, mainly having trouble with the "th" sound, making it either a "t" sound or a "z" sound, depending on the word she's trying to say. Has little to no knowledge about the two swords. Sophie Desrosiers (Darkrow) (click to showhide) Name: Sophie Desrosiers Nickname(s): N/A Age: 24 Gender: Female What Color is Your Soul?: White Birthplace: Loralle Kingdom, Paris, France Occupation: Royal Guard. Weapon: A dark blue sword named Bleue and a black dagger called Noire. Appearance: Sophie is a fairly tall woman, being an even 6 feet tall and weighing around 165 pounds. Her hair is long and pitch black, reaching her mid-back. Her eyes are dark blue and she always seem to be a bit sad. Her cheeks tend to be a bit red because of how often she blushes. She only wears armor on her torso and her stomach. It is black with white lines running across it. It can absorb quite a few hits from a sword before even being close to breaking. Under it she wears a long-sleeved red shirt. The sleeves end in the middle of her palms, showing that it's just a bit too large for her. For lower wear she has simple black pants with two buckles on each thigh. She wears black boots with small high heels. Around her waist is a red fauld. Personality: Despite her rather important job, Sophie's low self-esteem tends to be a problem. Whenever she needs to take action, she'll always hesitate out of fear of making things worse. She can't help it; it's just the way she is. She always does her best to help someone in need though, even though her self-esteem often clouds her judgement. She's a good woman at heart though. The slightest compliment can make her blush as she is not used to them at all. She stutters when either denying them or accepting them. She will compliment others whenever she feels like they deserve it. She is very polite, using appropriate honorifics and titles, such as "Your Majesty" or "Mister", for anyone she meets and formally apologising whenever she makes a mistake. Sophie is a rather uptight woman too. She tends to appear cold to strangers despite her politeness and has trouble warming up to people. Being a royal guard, she also lacks trust in strangers and is usually the first one to voice her distrust or doubt in someone. She isn't much of a talker either, prefering to listening to everything the others have to say before voicing her own opinion. This makes her a great listener. Earning her respect can be hard, but it's worth it since she'll open up to you. When talking to strangers, she can be brutally cold and won't even say her name, not deeming it necessary to tell her name to a complete stranger. While she seems sure of herself when around strangers, you can see that she's very insecure about herself when she warms up to you. She still stays very polite even with friends and it's hard for her not to use honorifics and titles. She tends to think that everything that happens around her is her fault, sometimes even making up reasons that barely make any sense. She will often be quiet and distant, but she's obviously just shy. However, she's not afraid to say what's on her mind to someone she hates. In the right conditions though, she can be very courageous and brave. Biography: Born in France, Sophie has always been bullied for being shy and introverted. Her parents always told her to be more cheerful and such, but they didn't seem to understand that their daughter was far too self-conscious for that. She was a sensitive child who cried often and was often called a weakling, which made her even more introverted as time passed. Soon, she literally stopped talking for almost a week due to depression. After that week though (she was 10 already), she vowed to start talking more and become tougher for her sake. Her solution was to join the Loralle Kingdom's Royal Guards. She learned the basics quickly in a few years and at 16 she already was a full-fledged guard. She still didn't talk much, but she did try even though she stuttered. Since she was still young, she still had to do some extensive training. This bonus training, as they called it, was extremely hard and tough, even for a grown-up. She came home exhausted and covered with bruises only to go back there the next day. Needless to say, she cried a lot during those painful training sessions. However, she never gave up and kept trying, which greatly surprised her trainer. She also got to know Queen Natalie herself and they become acquaintances. She was 20 when her bonus training was over and she was a new, tough woman. She still had self-esteem problems though. Then, Aeon Calcos and his army of Lizardmen attacked. Sophie was one of the few who managed to escape, though she only did this because she was too injured to continue fighting. Nursed by a young man who found her outside the Kingdom shortly after the attack, Sophie found herself guilty of running away. She had failed her Kingdom and her Queen. Then it struck her. Was the Queen even alive anymore? She didn't dare go back to Loralle, fearing rejection. Having learned of Soul Edge quite a while back, it seemed evident that Aeon Calcos was controlled by it. Wishing to redeem herself to her Kingdom, she heads for Ostrheinsburg to put an end to Lizardman's rampages and any other beings that were probably causing chaos. Who knows, maybe Queen Natalie is still alive... Others: Sophie can obviously speak French, but her mastery of English is almost perfect, only her accent hinting that she's French (except her name). Amaya Mayumi (Nymphadora)That was a lot, eh? As you can probably tell, I've worked hard on this, so I hope this isn't ignored. That would make me a sad Darkie. If popular enough, I may add a Secondary Character/NPC sign up sheet to make things more interesting. I already have a sign up sheet in mind, so I just need to know if it'll be used or not. I know there are a lot of rules, but I just want this to be a good, structured RP and not a messy story. Plot ideas and such are, of course, greatly appreciated. Suggestions to make the RP better are also greatly appreciated. I'm also expecting every RPer to use this thread a lot for questions and such. I will happily clarify anything that confuses you and I'm sure that others with knowledge of the games will do the same, so don't be shy! Now, go, and make me proud!

It's about timeoHai SOUL CALIBUR! Now, for the super short profile!Ohwassupden~ (click to showhide) Name: Amaya Mayumi (Meaning- Mayumi- True Bow - Amaya- Night Rain) Nickname(s): Yumi, Night or Rain Age: 20 Gender: Female What Color is Your Soul?: White Birthplace: Aomori, Japan Occupation: Part time Blacksmith, also a Kunoichi Weapon: Yamiyo (See her picture for image) Mayumi's Bow Yamiyo is long and very strong. It is smooth, but sharper than a razor blade. It is silver, although its almost clear, like glass. It constantly emits a strange, white/silver/bright purple mystical glow. The range of the bow is further than anything you can possibly imagine, and faster than a bullet. It also has 3 Soul Edge shards in it, making it a deadlier and much more lethal weapon than it should be. Not only is Yamiyo a bow, but it is a blade. It is perfect for long range, and close combat. There is a grip in the center of the bow so Mayumi doesn't cut herself. It is a deadly weapon, and a danger to both the user and the user's enemies. Yamiyo is quite a good name for the bow, it means "Dark Night" the bow itself is not as dark as the night, but it glimmers like a star. Her arrows are black, with steel arrow heads. They have a small strap of flammable material in front of the arrow heads in case she ever needs flaming arrows. Some of her arrows even have poison tips. Mayumi made the arrows and the Bow herself. Ain't it just beastly?...Get it? XDMayumi's dagger is made of pure steel, including the handle. So the handle has a black grip so she can hold it without it slipping out of he hand. There is a dragon on the handle. But even the dagger isn't as sharp as the Yamiyo. Appearance: Clicky, clicky! Isn't she pretty? Mayumi is 5"8 and weighs 125 pounds. Her skin is light and quite pretty. Her hair a shiny black, and her eyes are a beautiful grey/purple colour. She has a feathery clip on the left side of her head, partially over her ear. It holds her hair in place. Her hair is just past shoulder length, however some of it is being held in a small ponytail at the back of her head by long black ribbons which hang down her back. She also has a silver tiara around her head, but it is only visible on her forehead. Her right eyebrow has 3 piercings, and she has a long black earring hanging from each ear. She wears a long black scarf around her neck, even though her clothes dont cover much of her body so it doesn't keep her warm anyway. There is a black shoulder pauldron attached to her scarf on the left, under that is a couple of black leather straps wrapped around her arm. Her brown top isn't much of a shirt, it looks like brown material attached to her body with black leather straps more than anything else, however, the material does cover most of her chest, but it shows cleavage. For lower wear Mayumi wears a short dark brown skirt that cuts off half way down her thighs, held up with a black leather belt with a silver buckle. The skirt is the same material has Mayumi's top. Her black boots reach just past her knees. They are heelless, and bottom of the boots are metal. She also has a black quiver hanging by the leather straps on her back. Hanging on her belt is Mayumi's dagger, it is there in case she loses the Yamiyo. She has a pouch hanging from her belt, it has a few small vials of poison inside it. Personality: Mayumi is almost a sweet person, once you get past her touch-me-and-you'll-regret-it attitude. In fact, you just have to know her dislikes if you don't want to be on her bad side, once you figure them out you wont have as much problems...scratch that, you're still screwed. However, she is quite a touchy person. If you talk too much, she'll get annoyed. But that's usually only if you're talking about something she has not interest in whatsoever. Basically, if you do something she doesn't like at all, she'll get annoyed. You may think you can insult her by speaking English so she wont understand, but she can speak fluent English. Even when Mayumi isn't annoyed, she may seem nice, but she loves violence. When Emiko and Hakaishi are arguing Mayumi will squeeze in as many words as she can, but 99.9% of the time she will be siding with Emiko, just to screw with Hakaishi. Regardless of what Emiko thinks, screwing with Hakaishi is too much fun. Underneath her tough attitude, Mayumi is just a child. Even though she is 20, she likes to refer to herself as a young girl, and sometimes even a child. She doesn't take anything seriously, that is, when she isn't annoyed. She tends to joke around a lot, but the jokes can usually be a little hurtful, luckily, she has Emiko to keep her on a leash. Mayumi thinks of Emiko as her sister, as she is always there for her. She reffers to Emiko as "Emi-Chan" If Emiko is calming her down for some reason, she calls her "Emi-Sensei", or even just "Sensei". Although she doesn't know how Emiko feels about that name, to Mayumi, it fits her perfectly. Mayumi is the funny one out of the two, although sometimes that can be hard to tell. Mayumi has been an archer for as long as she can remember, archery is her life. However, she never felt she was good enough at it, so she went through many bows while trying to find the right one. Criticizing her archery is a very bad idea. She will not take your advice, she will only take it as an insult against her skill. Once you have insulted her, she will not talk to you, unless she is spitting out an insult. She also has a fear of being blindfolded, as strange as that may sound, its perfectly normal for an archer. She depends on her eye sight for her bow, so when it is gone, she must use the Yamiyo as a blade. Although Mayumi is a Kuniochi, her hearing is above average, she doesn't need to see to be able to use her dagger, or the Yamiyo. She is never calm when she cant see, she gets annoyed, edgy, paranoid, and tends to cling to Emiko's arm. Emiko gave Mayumi permission to call her by her name without adding "Chan" to it, which is a great honour in Japan, but Mayumi couldn't do it. She still calls her "Emi-Chan" or "Emi-Sensei", and she cant even imagine doing otherwise. Biography: Mayumi is 20 years old. She was born in Aomori, Japan. She has been into archery ever since she was a little girl, she loved playing swords with Emiko, even though they were only using sticks. But archery always fascinated her, so she usually made toy bows out of sticks and string. So in a way, she always knew she'd make a good blacksmith. However, she always dreamed of becoming a Kunoichi, Emiko and Mayumi seemed to share that dream. Mayumi spent a lot of time with Emiko, she considered her a sister. But when she wasn't with her "sister", she was getting herself into all kinds of trouble. Her cheeky attitude fueled her, and everyone knew it. She had a father and a mother, but no siblings. And yet, she was still a major handful. She was always out exploring, and if you ever asked where she was or what she was doing, you'd always get the same reply: "Being a ninja", her parents were quite amused with this response, as they were ninjas themselves. By the age of 12, she was quite athletic, but still hadn't changed in attitude. She was certain she wanted to be a ninja, so she officially started training to become a Kunoichi, along with Emiko. At the same time, she was being taught many different things by her parents, like practicing the art of Kuji-In. The training was draining, and the extra training at home was quite painful, especially when learning to use the many different weapons of the ninja. A little later in Mayumi's life, she strayed away from the weapons of the ninja and became a fan of bows. However, she also liked swords, and anything else that was sharp and shiny. The local blacksmith was her Uncle, so he taught her how to make weapons, usually only daggers. When she was 15, he trusted her enough to make larger weapons, such as swords, Katana's, bows, and other weapons that were in high demand at the time. So when she was old enough, she became an official blacksmith, though it was only part time, due to her training. Finding pieces of the Soul Edge was pure luck, dumb luck. She knew her uncle wouldn't have let her use the shards for anything, her parents wouldn't either, and although she usually would have asked Emiko about it, she didn't. Instead, she decided to make her own bow. She fumbled over using 2 shards for a sword and 1 for a bow, but it wasn't good enough to use the Soul Shards for. So she asked Emiko, however, she withheld the part about the Soul Shards. Emiko suggested Mayumi should make it a bow and a sword, or blade at least. The idea was genius, only Emiko could come up with something as brilliant as that. Mayumi created the Yamiyo as soon as she could, but no one knew about the Soul Edge shards. And no one seemed to notice how extraordinary the bow was. After creating the Yamiyo, Mayumi had a slight change in personality, not instantly, but slowly, at first.. She became a little more violent, more snappy, and much more sassy, except for when she was with Emiko, because Mayumi knew she was changing, but she didn't want Emiko to know. Besides, it was easy to stay calm around Emiko, because Emiko was always calm, and quiet. So in a way, Emiko was the cure to Mayumi's now rapidly changing personality, and Mayumi knew it. One day, Mayumi over head her uncle talking to a customer about a man named Colin. It was the story of the Soul Calibur and the Soul Edge, the tale which has been eternally retold. Mayumi listened to the story curiously, although she had heard it a billion times, everyone seemed to tell it differently. But she was never tired of listening to it. The thought of a sword more powerful than Nightmare's sword was disturbing, especially knowing that whoever disobeyed Colin would be fed to the sword. When Mayumi heard that Emiko was going to Ostrheinsburg, she begged Emiko to take her. Although she usually would have strayed away from doing something like that, she actually wanted to go. She needed to go. Without Emiko, Mayumi wouldn't be able to control herself. So she traveled to Ostrheinburg with Emiko. Read the Rules?: Arcturus Others: The Yamiyo has 3 Soul shards in it, which has caused Mayumi's personality to change. She has become more violent, more hurtful with words, and more agitated. Staying calm is the only thing thats stopping her from turning into a psychopath, she needs Emiko for that. So Mayumi is now on the brink of corruption with only her friend, her role model, Emiko to keep her from destroying herself. Mayumi also knows where to find pressure points in bodies, such as reflex points and pain points. Punching, or just generally striking the tendons, ligaments and muscles, she is able to immobilize someone. She pokes, rubs, jabs, punches or applies pressure (Usually only using two fingers to do so) to these areas depending on what effect she wishes it to have. Some hits can be lethal, depending on where and how hard you are hit. There are 107 possible points that could be hit, 64 of which have been deemed lethal if struck. Mayumi knows exactly where these points are, and how to use it to her advantage. Her athleticism helps her immensely, making her all the more deadly. When she strikes, she strikes with great speed and uses as much force as needed. The Yamiyo can also be used on larger opponents, if necessary. Although Emiko doesn't know Mayumi has the ability to do this, Mayumi is quite proud of herself. It's under construction.

His taste buds now match a human beings, for his tongue touched a lot of hot things. His smell is almost matches a German Shepard. He can smell at most 100 yards away. He is very good at using his senses in dire situations. He dislikes not being able to see. It is his biggest disadvantage, for people can deceive him easier. His biggest hate, is also his senses. They make him hear, touch, smell, and taste horrible things and be weakened or even knocked out by things. He hates it when things like that happen. He'll smell a drink and it will smell good. He'll drink it and find out its perfume. He hates being picked on by his blindness. Biography: When he was born, Rein had sight. He was a intelligent young boy and liked to walk around at look at nature. He would go to school and learn about many things in life, and he was most interested in Soul Edge and Soul Calibur and the history of them. He would wait for class to end to go to the library in his town and try to research them. He would read for weeks about them. He had an unfortunate accident though. When he was 10, he was in a library, when a bunch of people came in trying to take all info of Soul Edge ad how to find it. Rein was still in the library reading the book that talked all about Soul Edge ironically. Rein didn't notice, for he cut out all of the sound around him to read about Soul Edge. he was found by the men and took the book out of his hands. Rein ran after them to get the book back, for he was halfway through where the violence came in. He caught up with the men, but someone used the hilt of both of their swords, on both of his eyes. He was ran to the best medic in town. They searched for a way to fix it, but they couldn't find a way to cure blindness. Rein thought that his whole world had changed. People felt sorry, but there was that one group that picked on him. They pushed him. They hit him in the face. The only thing that made him not commit suicide was his mother. She would always tell him stories about Soul Edge. She personally didn't like them and thought that they were fake, but it kept a smile on Rein. Rein spent all his life teaching himself about being blind until he was 21. Rein learned to live with his blindness. He learned how his heightened senses would let him "see". He needed a job and he went for a teacher. They had no position opened, except for one. He became a teacher for blind people. Everyone in that class always had nothing around their eyes, but Rein liked to have a headband there. He would teach them how to use their heightened senses. He was teaching a class when a man ran into the room. The man said, "It's your mother, she is about to die." Rein ran out of the classroom and to his mother who was in her house and was very cold. "Mother, what has happened to you?" She was barely breathing, but she could speak, "I was traveling like I always said I would, when I came upon a man who had taken all of our books about Soul Edge. He told me that Soul Edge was back, with a new bearer who was in Ostrheinsburg. Then he hit me with the hilt of both of his swords in the neck. He ran, then a guard found me and took me back here. I had just left the village for 10 minutes when I met him." Rein was tearing up, 'That bastard is going to pay for what he has done to me,' thought Rein as his mother died in his arms. Rein made a funeral for her and she was buried properly. Rein went to the town Blacksmith and ordered two swords that looked like what he explained it as. The Blacksmith had it done in one day. That day Rein had all of his armor done by the armorer and left the village. He set out for Ostrheinsburg. He brought two sacks full of food and water with him to survive. It took him two weeks, but he reached Ostrheinsburg in two weeks. Read the Rules?: Arcturus Others: Rein has super natural senses due to his blindness.

Hmm, there are some spelling mistakes in there. For example, it's "wear", not "where". Completely different. You also put capital letters at weird places. Colors, gems and other objects should not take a capital letter, like "obsidian", "taste" and "black". You made quite a few typoes too, like "and" instead of "an". Please watch out for those. Apart from that, it's all good. Whenever there's a word that makes you hesitate, just look it up. Takes 10 secs. Also, from the posts I've seen you make, they are quite short. Not that I mind a lot, but I've noticed that you don't describe a lot. Adding description can make a post much longer and more accurate, meaning it won't confuse people. When using dialogue, you need to change paragraphs each time there's another character speaking. It makes it easier to read and less confusing for others. X3 Finally, since he just recently got his swords and there are no mention of him learning how to use them, I'm going to assume that he's not an experienced fighter and is prone to mistakes. Could make it interesting. And with that, if you can watch out for what I told you, then you're accepted. X3
