In the mansion part, there are two maids on the sides saying those parts are off limits. Do those ever open?

After doing some searching, since I didn't know myself.
The east end is completely inaccessible. In DP, the west end is also inaccessible. However, in Platinum, the maid there will ask if you want to participate in a five-round battle challenge. It's akin to the family battle from RSE, in that you fight several enemies in a row without a moment to rest. -------------------- |

I also wonder if the church ever does anything... the one in Hearthrome that has no music.

Hey, I wanted to say, that the last trainer, after you have defeated the maids in the mansion in platinum (But you need to defeat them in set number of turns to battle him.)
His Blissey holds a Rare Candy. I myself think there is no real purpose for the church, other than being the only area in DPPt with no music. --------------------    |
