The race is over, and prizes have been handed out.
Prize for completing the race: A fossil randomly selected from 2 new ones. Consolation prizes: >= 550 eggs: Blue Stone >= 300 eggs: 2x Enigma Stone >= 200 eggs: 1x Enigma Stone >= 100 eggs: 2x Nugget < 100 eggs: Nugget The new fossils will be obtainable the same way as every other fossil, once they're activated. Update: The fossils are now usable! (and thus findable) Update (April 7): I'm extending the race by a day, simply because I won't be around Sunday night to end it... so it'll close at reset on Monday night, yup yup. Sign-ups are closed, the contest is started. You are too late. Starting a week from now, we'll be having our fourth site-wide Shiny Race, and the first one featuring one of the new fifth-generation Pokemon. (This thread is pretty well copypasta of the Relicanth one from January, with changes made to the dates and species for the hunt) This time, your Pokemon you will be hunting will be Litwick. Signups will be from the time this thread is posted, until reset on the night of March 27th (Server Time; 11:55pm EST). The hunt will then run for two full weeks and close at reset on the April For those of you who haven't participated in the past, here's how it works. First of all, to be able to enter in the first place, you'll need to have both Egg Dex and Pokedex entries for Litwick, and you'll also need to have a Shine Recorder, with one of the slots for a regular hunt free. Once you have met all of these requirements, go to your Shine Recorder and sign up for the Litwick *COMPETITON* hunt which is located at the top of the list. Signing up for a regular Litwick hunt will not enter you in the competition. Signing up after signups have closed will also not enter you in the competition. If your hunt does not say *COMPETITON* then you are doing it wrong and you will not be able to partake in this event! Once signups are closed, and the competition is started, you will have two full weeks to try to hatch a shiny Litwick. During this time, there will be extra Litwick spawned in the Lab, and breeding pairs with Litwick will breed more frequently than usual. Breeding pairs with Litwick will also only breed Litwick during this period of time. Note that only eggs obtained after signups have closed are eligible for the competition - this means that you are wasting your time adopting Litwick eggs before signups are closed and the competition has started. **PLEASE TO BE READING THIS SENTENCE** Also, taking Litwick eggs during the competition will not count against your daily Shelter grabs. There will be a special prize for all users who successfully complete their shiny Litwick hunt, regardless of how many eggs hatched or how long it took them, as well as consolation prizes for unsuccessful users based on how many eggs they've hatched.
