As a First Gen Guardian, you know how important it is to protect the oldies... the Pokemon that started all this craze and hype. They are the coolest and best Pokemon, and they deserve to be specially recognized. The goal of the First Gen Guardians is two-fold; first, to collect as many first generation Pokemon as possible, eventually reaching the goal of 151, as Professor Oak originally challenged us to do; and secondly, to participate in breeding projects organized by the group to further increase the availability of harder to find first generation Pokemon eggs.

Favorite first gen Pokemon:

As a First Gen Guardian, you obviously enjoy collecting first generation Pokemon. I've created a set of challenges ranging from ones that are very difficult (Master Collector) to ones that are still not easy to accomplish, but much more realistic. As a reward for completing any challenge, you will earn a rank, allowing you to wear the appropriate badge in your signature, or show it off wherever else it is appropriate to do so. The first set of ranks/badges/challenges has been released; there are a total of 13 right now. More will be coming. It would be cool for you to recommend your ideas for ranks/badges/challenges for future ones in the thread.

Master Collector: Collect all 151 first generation Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Famous Collector: Collect 125 unique first generation Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Respectable Collector: Collect 100 unique first generation Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Beginning Collector: Collect 50 unique first generation Pokemon (in your Pokedex).


Master Trainer: Have all 16 3rd stage evolution Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Respectable Trainer: Have 12 unique 3rd stage evolution Pokemon (in your Pokedex).


Eevee Guardian: Have Eevee and all 3 Eevee evolutions (in your Pokedex).

Fossil Guardian: Have all 5 fossil Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Starter Guardian: Have all 9 starter Pokemon and their evolutions (in your Pokedex).

Moon Dancer: Have all 4 Moon Stone-evolved Pokemon.

Bug Catcher: Have all 12 bug Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Karate Champ: Have all 8 fighting Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Spoon Bender: Have all 12 non-legendary psychic Pokemon (in your Pokedex).

Kangaskan and Lapras are kinda rare..What about breeding them?I can breed Lapras but I don't have a Kangaskan

I have Khangaskhan in there with Ivysaur right now but they haven't bred an egg yet, I think their levels are too far apart. There's a decent amount of Lapras eggs in the shelter, but they are still pretty tough tofind. I think Ditto, Porygon and Khangaskhan might be the the rarest...

Dittos can't bread. The Mass Breading Project is currently working on breading Porygon, if you want to group them and bread you can. Otherwise out of the ones you have said so far I'm thinking Khangaskhan. Maybe it is just many but have any of you seen some Happiny eggs? For Chansey. I have seen Scyther in some many people's profile, and before I knew what a Scyther egg was I use to see them a lot in the shelter... but not any more. And again like Happiny, maybe I am just blind- have you seen a lot of Pinsir eggs? I don't know for sure what they look like so yeah.
