Pokemon Wymsy and Zerxer Verions

Welcome to the offical thread of Pokemon Wymsy Version and Pokemon Zerxer Version. These are a pair of Emerald rom hacks based on our very own GPX+ egg game. For those of you who don't know, a rom hack is essentially a 'edit' of a existing game. Some are complete overhauls, edited beyond the point of reconistion. Others, such as this one are more improvements, rather than a whole new game.

Read on for more details regarding what changes will be made, as well as how you can get yourself in the game!

. All GPX+ Novelty Pokemon, (minus Bidofo) obtainable
. New Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Frontier Brains based on GTS+ members
. GPX+ members as the in game trainers!
. Sinnoh Pokemon added to the Hoenn dex
. Birth Island and Naval Rock accessible
. There's also a variety of easter eggs and stuff to be found, but not going to go in to details. Have to find them for yourself!
. Redone routes and towns

Storyline
No changes here, so you will simply play through the Emerald storyline. Some routes and towns will recieve a makeover however. For example, Mauville has a more 'mechanical' look, whilst large bodies of water have been added to Slateport, along with the market being place on a seperate little island. These changes are just to keep things a bit fresh, and provide towns with more of a identity, (since I personally find a lot of the Hoenn towns are rather boring).

Version Differences
As you can imagine, there are differences between the two versions. These are very much the same as with any other pair of Pokemon games, however there are some bigger ones such as exclusive areas and even different Champions! However, all Hoenn dex Pokemon are obtainable in both games, so there's no trading neccessary. In addition, all the annoying trade related evolutions have been changed. More details regarding the difference coming soon...

Know Bugs
. National Dex is broken. A few Pokemon are missing and some not in the correct order. There is no plans to fix this.
. MissingNo can currently not change forme
. Areas under trees, buildings etc have lighter grass than the standard grass tiles

Helpful Tips
. Dracowymsy changes formes via use of evolution stones
. All breedable novelties can breed, however they will only breed thier corresponding regular versions. Most breedable novelties are found in the wild however so you can catch more if you wish to.

As this is very much a project for the whole community, we want to get as many of your people into the game as possible. Simply use the form below to apply. Everyone who fills it out correctly will be given a trainer position somewhere within the game! Where is a secret though, so you'll just have to play it to find out, (hows that for a publicity stunt?)

Applications Are Now Closed

Staff Positions - IMPORTANT
Myself and Lilred have already completed the majority of the work for the first beta. However, before the game can be released there is a few things that need to be done, (mostly spriting). Without these things the game will not be released, so it is important these staff position are filled.

Spriters: There is a fair few sprites, (novelty backsprites and custom trainer sprites) that need to be made. If you would like to help please PM for a list of what needs to be done. The two users who submitt the most amount of sprites that are acutally used in the game will be given a Frontier Brain in game, (pretty cool hey). Anyone else who has their sprites used will be priortised when it comes to other trainer selections, so you should end up with a pretty awesome in game team. Priorities will be done based on how many of your sprites are included. If your sprite isn't included in the game, then thanks for trying but tough luck. Anyone may submitt sprites, and there is no maxim you may submitt

Beta Testers: Once the sprites have been done and inserted, we will need a couple of beta testers to throughly combe through and find any areas. Please only apply for a beta testing role is you are willing to be commited. It will mean playing through the game at least once, (and a lot of it is the same as Emerald) as well as combing through specified areas, (there's not all that many changes so this shouldn't be too time consuming). If you are interrested please PM me. Beta testers will again be given priority when it comes to the trainer selections. We've now had plenty of applications for beta testers. You will be contacted as and when you are needed

Sprite Inserter: LilRed's computer has broken, so we need a replacement sprite inserter. This person must have experience in inserting sprites into a Pokemon Emerald rom, and have a fair amount of free time in order to do this, as it can be quite a long process given the amount of sprites to insert. A knowledge of indexing sprites is also helpful. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to help out

The games yet to be released. It will be avalible as a IPS file, (since providing a direct ROM is illegal). I'll give instructions on how to patch the IPS file to a ROM at a later date, (don't worry, its really easy).

OU and UU are tiers used to classify Pokemon based on thier battling abilites. A list of which Pokemon are in what tiers can be found here

No legendaries can't be chosen

And I fogot to mention the Pokemon must be Hoenn dex Pokemon, (ie Pokemon that appeared in R/S/E). However, a selection of Sinnoh Pokemon and their evos are also avalible to be chose, (Bidoof, Buneary, Shinx, Rilou, Skorupi). More will likely be added in the future.

You may amend your applications in light of this new knowledge if you wish to

Question! Are you just inputting the dex info from D/P or are you putting in Platinum's info? Platinum has a bigger dex is why I'm asking.
