i thought during shiny hunts that pokemon that can produce a child for the hunt will only produce said child like if your breeding a totodile and charmander only totos will be laid but my vulpix and winter vulpix pair just bred a winter vulpix egg but winter vulpix isnt part of the shiny hunt so what happened? was something changed?

EDIT--i did not activate novel power on it so idk :/

EDIT~~happened again and again i didnt have novel power on :/

Did you activate Novel Power? That's the only override I can think of...

I don't think non-SWSH breeding was disabled for pair capable of producing a SWSH Pokemon. I thought it was just greatly skewed towards the Hunt Pokemon. But maybe I'm remembering it wrong...

Nope, all SWSH Pokemon are programmed to produce only SWSH eggs (and elevated amounts of them) during the hunt, except for apparently this glitch.

Nope, see my previous post. SWSH Pokemon breed only SWSH eggs during the hunt (except apparently this glitch). Even if you've already completed the hunt, even if you never signed up for the hunt, and even if you're breeding a different SWSH Pokemon than the one you're hunting.

This is pretty obviously something that was overlooked in programming, since Vulpix is (to my knowledge) the first SWSH Pokemon with a breedable novelty form which was available during/prior to its hunt.

you can't be 100 sure to get a Novelty Pokemon during breeding, its better to have 2 Winter Vulpix obviously the opposite genders + using a Noval Power to make it easier to get a couple for sure

To my knowledge, SWSH pokemon breed [almost] exclusively the hunt pokemon, found this when my WV x Pikachu pair was breeding only vulpix for the longest time BEFORE and DURING the hunt, but I also got a sh*t ton of winter vulpix from them, so it's entirely possible that the programming for the hunt wasn't applied to the chance of getting a novelty -- somewhere around 20% chance without being a SWSH poke, so probably just an increased chance [of normal] but not entirely cancelled out.

Only a theory here, but still something (:

This doesn't bother me at all, especially since I was deliberately breeding Winter Vulpixes, but I kept getting regular Vulpix eggs, even though I was in the site wide shiny hunt for Vulpix (but never hatched one in time, so as a result, I'm STILL hunting for a Shiny Vulpix)

Water types are weak against Fire types if they use Thunder as armor. Flareon can use dive and aim for the horn. Then finish it off with False Swipe although it may faint if it uses Endure...but thats just because everyone knows Arbok evolves into Seviper
