Hello there,
Today, I have traveled from about Dallas, Texas back to my apartment in Austin, Texas. It's a pretty big divide between north and central areas of the state. I like to activate my mobile walker before I leave. Historically, the Pokemon I tend to place inside jump 50-60 levels or so each time I have gone from Dallas to Austin, and back again. It's understandable, considering the distance between the cities. This time, I decided to stick three Lilipups inside so I could experience this gain again. However, a few minutes ago when I activated it, they only jumped about 18 levels! Was the experience gained from the walker changed or is it just an unfortunate glitch this time? I feel shorted seeing as I've traveled about a 4 hour drive and gained only a little relative EXP. If this is permanent, I can't exactly say I'm too happy about it.... -------------------- |

This probably isn't very helpful, but I've seen a couple posts recently (http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=62996) about people not experiencing the former huge-experience-glitch so much lately. Maybe they've been tweaking it? I have no idea really (I don't use it). Maybe if they really DID do something (??) it affected not just the glitch but also the normal distance gains ? Or maybe it's just a coincidence. Sorry I can't help more x(

There is now an experience cap of 18 miles for the Mobile Walker (previously, yes, it was at 50 miles). I'm not a fan of that change, but that's how it is now.

Yeowch. -going to Japan in a few months too- I'm not particularly in favor of all the mobile tweaks as of late...was there a particular reason for this being done, or is that something I shouldn't really ask? -------------------- |

Basically, people sharing their accounts with other people to abuse the Mobile Walker (which is bannable, for anyone reading who's actually done it). I did some logging as to how far people typically travel in an activation, and this was about the average, so I left it at that, yup yup. -------------------- |

Seems like a good idea to me, i mean personally i never do anymore then 20 miles a day travelling, same with Laura when she goes to uni (There and back is about 40 miles), I realise that doesn't sound like a good argument but i'm guessing this cap will decrease level gains when the MW glitches correct? Since, i've had the glitch and sure its cool to have occasionally and all but recently i've noticed more people depending on it and that to me defeats the object completely of playing the game so if the glitch sees the decrease too i think although there will be a bad reaction its for the best. Of course for people legit travelling over 18 miles it sucks.

Of course for people legit travelling over 18 miles it sucks. This, I used to travel for two hours mostly on a motorway (iirc, 70mph is the speed limit here, so I went at least 100 miles because I can't remember exactly how much was on a motorway) to get to my dad's house and back which I think got a ~30k maturity egg to hatching in one activation; now he's going to be three hours away iirc, which wouldn't have changed anything before because the cap was 50, but 18 is a bit meh for all that travelling... (if it can still get a ~30k egg to near-hatching then it won't be so much as a problem for me though) I understand WHY it was done, but it's just...meh :/ (edit: just to clarify, he was driving...so if I can work out how to get get internet in the car, it won't be so bad...) Wow, I had no idea people even did that...that's going pretty far just to get gains. Primo example why cheaters always ruin things for everyone else. >:l Yeah, it does suck for those of us who are occasional travelers, but thanks for the clarification--it's good to understand why it was done. -------------------- |

(edit: just to clarify, he was driving...so if I can work out how to get get internet in the car, it won't be so bad...) I was going to suggest something like that til I saw your edit xD Is it a cell phone, or some other mobile device? I know mine, because it's a phone, I have internet connection as long as I've got cell reception, I don't need wifi or anything, so if you're on a phone you could still just activate every hour during the drive.. |

I can use my iPod Touch or my Android phone; I get mobile network on my phone but I have to pay to use it, and I can't get internet on my iPod without...I can't remember that well, but I think my dad knew how to make his phone work as a router for me or something. Plus I hate my Android's screen, it doesn't work too well... -------------------- |

Be careful if you plan to check GPX while driving. Or, rather, I'd use it during break stops instead of behind the wheel. /worrywart
Activation during traveling is impossible for me, seeing as I travel by plane a lot (no wifi for comp or iPod) and GPX mobile is no longer supported by my phone. I'll just make do with before/after I guess. This post has been edited by Swizzle: Mar 19 2012, 03:24 PM -------------------- |

Guess that explains why my gains were reduced as well... just thought it was unlucky... oh wells And I tend to abuse the glitch for MW, so apologies in general :< -------------------- |

I've not had it in months though...if you had that glitch from time to time, I don't think it's considered abuse. -------------------- |

I've had it since the beginning of my gpxplus career, and back then, I did abuse it like mad xD Nowadays, I mostly just use it for eggs and leveling as needed -------------------- |

I got it a few months after the MW was released, and I abused it like mad too.
I only use it for hatching novalties... or rather, I did use it for that. It's easy to level a pokemon from 5 to 100 in the pokewalker for me, so xD -------------------- |
