I managed to get 113 wins in a row today, I was surprised (had a streak of 50 before). xD I know I'm still not that good but I'm slowly getting better ...
First time reaching 75 wins and I even got Exp. All immediately. O__o

The Subway becomes easy once you find a working combo... I've reached 75+ streak twice now, my highest is 112. That one got ended by YellsCellls.

One long streak ended in stalemate: two Ferrothorns with leftovers, neither capable of hurting the other. Another time I got beat by GiZmo at 70. shakefist.gif

Team:
absol.gif [Dark]: Lead attack.
alakazam.gif [Psychic]: Attack.
lanturn.gif [Water/Electric]: Backup.
froslass.gif [Ice/Ghost]: Backup.
:Ferrothorn: [Grass/Steel]: Main tank.
:Throh: [Fight]: Secondary tank, for Steel and Dark types.

Yes, this thread has been dead for over a year. No, I don't care.

I made and submitted a TPP-inspired team. inb4 he loses horribly.

I've been trying to find ways to integrate a Scrafty into my team to deal with Dark and Ghost-types, but that would mean I have to replace my Cacturne, who's my only way of dealing with Swords Dance Quagsire/Gastrodon/Whiscash/Swampert. Anyone got any ideas for a good Grass-type (besides Ferrothorn)?

Hey snow. If you want a good grass ATTACKER, give a Jolteon a Grass Gem and watch the trolling. XD

Otherwise, I use Bellossom if I know Swamperts or Dugtrios are coming. Beyond that? I just use my Banded Sawk and can 2HKO most of them with Rock Smash.

Alternately....did you consider using Gyarados?

The only downside with Jolteon is it's kind of frail.
If you've got something to cover ice weaknesses, Tropius could be handy.

I don't actually use an electric type in my team. Or any attacks. It's probably my biggest weakness (and scarfed Haxorus, but I usually can see them coming and use my Azumarill alternate). A lot of people are very confused by my last three Pokemon actually: Shiny Kingdra, Flaming Zoroark, and Gigalith. My Kingdra actually has fantastic IVs for a kingdra XD Plus, it's a great intermediary Pokemon when I need to swap something in against a dual type. Flaming Zoroark is my grass and psychic killer, and Gigalith is my staller/defensive wall/flying defender.

@Samoo, Doom Hunter: Thanks, guys!

Additional bit of advice for anyone who wants it: If you need an anti-Dragon/Dark/Fighting battler, go with Togekiss. Its stats are fantastic (good defenses AND Special Attack), it can stand up to a LOT of popular attackers, and its weaknesses are easily covered by a Ground Gem (Electric, Steel, Poison) and Water- or Steel-type teammates (Rock, Ice).

From your profile pic Snow, it occurred to me Nando appears to be holding the Mew Lyre Trinket XD

But back on topic. I find Togekiss to be fairly weak though, as a pokemon with good special defense (or even average, like my Alakazam) has no trouble KOing it.

Strange thing about battles here for me I've noticed....it's not about finding supereffective strikes to end your opponent as it is just finding neutral matchups and tearing your opponent limb from limb due to good offenses. That's why I play my Alakazam, Sawk, and Dugtrio with choice items, after all. Kingdra runs interference, FZ is my tech pokemon, and Gigalith is for defense.

@Doom Hunter: Yes, you're right! happy.gif

In the way of general advice, as to what I've found when I mess with shuffling my team members, I will say this: Please don't rely on just one teammate as your only means of countering a Pokémon that threatens the rest of your team. If you lose your only counter, and said Pokémon turns out to be a sweeper, you are screwed. I did this once - lost my Volcarona too early in the match and promptly got steamrollered by Swords Dance Ferrothorn. Got myself a Breloom afterwards.

Also, overconfidence is every battler's worst enemy. Cost me more than one match when I let my Pokémon stay in against an opponent who could hit it for super-effective damage, thinking my Pokémon could outspeed and KO it (more often than not, it didn't).

This is why I lose to properly movesetted Haxorus. Swords Dance + Agility and I am out like a light. The only issue is, my team is delicate! There are very few Pokemon I could safely replace my members with and maintain its integrity.

EG: I was about 4500 and 15 with my current Choice team, but I swapped my Kingdra for an Azumarill to defend against Hax and put a second defensive wall in my team. I went 40-4. noes.gif Kingdra plugs so many holes in my team that Azumarill left open.

Ninjask is another one of those......but if you can't KO Ninjask, it'll sweep anything, pretty much. :/

But in the Togekiss example...I have Gigalith too, and FZ can probably finish it with a Swords Dance or two.

@Doom Hunter: If it helps, Iron Defense/Leftovers Steelix or a sturdy Fairy-type is a good choice to beat sweeper Haxorus, but it seems like you have that covered with Azumarill already.

On another note, could I get some advice for my team? It would be much appreciated.

If it makes you feel better, I blew my 2350 streak with a Quick Claw. But emmitt's beyond 2350 now.....and he's lost only ONCE in 5000 battles. I envy him pinch.gif

Meanwhile, crits continue to be the bane of my existence. Stupid cheating AI, but I'll have the last laugh when I build my streak back up.

And then the computer simply crits you again....face it, no matter how hard we try, SOMEONE on the AI has us beat. >.>

Swapped Gigalith for Skarmory. Stats have improved dramatically, as I have now taken the 4 slot in most BS wins, despite only having been here 6 months!

A few notes:

Your Steelix can be improved upon greatly. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that hard to find a decent Impish one, right? :P I mean, mild is the WORST possible nature it could have, worse than even Hasty.

Second.....get some Pokemon with Haze. Right now, you could lose a couple Pokemon and then be surprised by a Swords Dancing/Agilitying Haxorus or Sawk or something with nothing to defend against it. Haze will at least give you a chance....I would give it to either a Scarfed Pokemon or Starmie, personally, or find a new Pokemon to fill the niche. Perhaps do what I do and use a Flaming Zoroark instead of a Houndoom? Roar is good, but since you always go second you run the risk of just being swept by a surprise Gem move or a critical hit. Steel Gem Haxorus are on the rise to combat fairies.....do you want to run that risk with Togekiss? My Dugtrio, Sawk, FZ, and Alakazam all know Haze. Sure, choicing Haze isn't the best option, but it's better than being eliminated.

Third: While the team is well-balanced as a whole, I would spring for some single typed Pokemon. For example, Tyranitar is good, but a Gigalith or Sudowoodo would have access to the stronger stone Edge move, while also having fewer weaknesses. I have three single type Pokemon on my team, Sawk, Dugtrio, and Alakazam. Psychic, Close Combat, and Earthquake are all highly desirable moves that made me pick these guys over the somewhat comparable Starmie, Breloom, and Excadrill, if that makes sense. So while diversity is good, solid single type Pokemon are great as well.

If you need any more tips let me know, this was just a basic rundown from a quick scan happy.gif
