This is the third group created to help people gain the Social Network achievement. The past two were locked and there was a thread way back in 2011 started by Kathie that did the same thing but it was also locked.

However, I am sanctioned by the team and Gambrinous Antiscian to create this group.

Ultimate Group Goal

(cough-My goal-cough) is to have 2,000 users with the achievement on the Statistics page! I want to get as close as possible before the site freezes.

When we first started, there were 1,481 users with Social Network.

Current number of users with Social Network*: 1,974!

Poll Feedback

If you think we're doing a good job, please talk to us in the thread.

If you think we're doing a bad job, please share ideas for us to use to improve things.

Tier Rundown

-Tier 3 = 50-75 adds away
-Tier 2 = 30-49 adds away and helpers from tier 3
-Tier 1 = 1-29 adds away and helpers from tier 2

Notice
We have switched to a Tier system for a better, more organized list.

There will be a limit of 90 targets on the list at one time.

The list is now in a spreadsheet so it is even easier to take care of.

The Tier Managers have chosen certain days to update the spreadsheet.

One of the systems we have is at least six members must agree on a decision to put it in place. If I decide we could use more feedback, I will PM members whose Online Status is visible or were active that day.

Officer Roles of the Networking Ninjas Group

Leader
-updates the front page when needed, such as Roster changes, rule updates or new Affiliates and Banner updates
-notifies everyone else about rule updates, if any
-keeps up with the updating of the spreadsheet, also takes note of how many users are on the spreadsheet
-has the power of inviting others to the Group (to prevent PM clutter)
-notifies the Group and the GPX+ Group Moderator if they cannot perform their duties

Tier Managers
-keeps up with the updating of the spreadsheet
-PMs each new person in their Tier the information PM
-communicates with the Group if they cannot perform their duties

Scouts
-looks for new targets, keeping in mind the requirements, which are the first three Newbie achievements and being on the site for a month
-posts potential targets in the thread for everyone to approve
-communicates with the Group if they cannot perform their duties

RULES FOR BEING IN THE GROUP

1. Follow all the rules of the Forums.

2. Only users who already have Social Network may join this group. Please PM (whomever is in charge) your application. Put the secret phrase in the message title.

3. If you are part of this group I ask you to use at least one spot for people who do not yet have the achievement.

4. If you decide to leave the group, please notify (whomever is in charge) by PM or posting in the thread. They will remove you from the Roster as quickly as possible.

5. If you have people to suggest for the list, please PM the Scouts (or myself) about it.

6. Please notify us by posting in the thread or PMing whoever is in charge if you change your username.

7. The leader may change or delete rules as they see fit.
The leader will notify everyone else if there is a new rule or if one has been altered or taken out.

Policy on Conversation

I don't envision a lot of chatting going on here, perhaps why we want to help others get the achievement or how long it took us to do it, or what number we were stuck at for the longest time.

Many of our posts are about things pertaining to the Group such as the organization of our target list.

I am not against chatting, it just doesn't seem to happen often. If there's nothing that needs attention, feel free to chat.

The same rules from the Community Thread apply to chatting in here.

RULES FOR BEING ON THE LIST

1. To be on our list, you must have the first three Newbie Achievements and have been active on the site for one month.

Everyone on our list will get one PM to tell them they are on the list. It will ask those users to please notify us if they change their username.

If you are on our "People to Add" list and you do not want adds, please PM (whomever is in charge) and they will remove you as soon as possible.

2. If you are on the list, you can talk with us in the Group thread as well.


Tips for how to get Social Network
I wrote a SN tips thread.


We are in the process of deciding who will be receiving the various Forms of the Group, it may be safest to just post in the thread at the present time.

It may be the most effective for all parties if you could follow the suggestion of "For every 5 adds from Tier 1, add someone from Tier 2 and for every 5 adds from Tier 2, add someone from Tier 3."

That way people from all Tiers get adds and no one is ignored. :]

How to put banners in signatures (or at least how I do it)
Put the link of the Group's topic on your signature. Then say insert image and copy the image into the box that appears.

Daneh likes to save the image and upload it on imgur instead so she does this

I've gone and removed the inactive people from my PalPad. I'm willing to add up to four people at a time for Social Network (three slots are open at the moment). I'm also going to be saving a 5th slot for Trinket trades to prevent back and forth adds.

At this stage I'm helping Chespin work towards Social Network; he's currently at 66 adds. I'm not sure how you want to go about keeping track of everyone being helped, Gryph, but it might be a good idea to keep a list in your first post, so future members can see people they should add right away. Unless you plan to post a few names every now and then for us to go off of?

I was. Before her thread I was stuck at 43 and thought I would never get the achievement unless I played like a maniac.

I think I got SN partly with Thundermoss's help a while back before she left and partly because everyone just seems to friend people with Eeveelution-like names...... I think I got stuck a few times, once in the mid-40s and once around 68 or 70.

No need to feel embarrassed. If you click on the banner in my earlier post (and not my signature), on the right there should be the sharing links. Click on the last one (IMG), and you copy some code. You paste that into your signature, but you're not done yet. Replace the first link with the thread's link, where it says URL. That should work.

Yes! I kept the users list up-to-date in the thread back then.

PalPad updated; added Electra Heart, Kirshia and AdmiralPerry. As for listing users who are going for the achievement? I'd say go with whatever you're comfortable with. There's going to be a lot of members to keep track of if you opt to keep a list of people who still require more than 30 adds. If you decide to keep track of people who need more than 30 adds, it might be worth allowing members to post in here if they're going for the achievement (they can choose to join the group once they unlock the achievement). That way they can assist us with keeping track of how many adds they have. I doubt they'll clutter the group too much.
