WOOOOOO finally! I kept at the subway and finally got the 75 win streak. There were several close calls along the way, and I got worried at those, but thankfully I made it.

Thanks! Well, finding good IV pokemon while you shiny hunt is a good idea, if you ever think you might do the Subway at some point. But also the Subway may not be for everyone.

It took me a very long time to get the combs, and then I edited my teams by adding two new pokemon to do the Subway, and then it took a while to figure out my ideal team for tackling it.

I know I can't function on just 2 hours of sleep, I've been able to do a week of four hours a night, but then it all catches up to me.

I can't either but I had to @_@. I would use some lawl but work requirements are strict and this state is a dictatorship about that stuff. *rolls eyes* I'm way too old to be pushing my body to its limits.

What Cyto said, hunting IVs while shiny hunting is a great way to get started. Sam's battle guide is a great start imo. I based most of my current team on Doom Hunter's lineup but I made a couple deviations to fit with my rhythm, but it was a great place to understand what was going on with the Battle Tower. My main issue atm now is the sore lack of mega stones to try out a different combo.

@Cytosine: GRATS! It's the most satisfying feeling ever. I'm still chipping away at the combs.

Also good luck with getting mega stones. I got them all waaaaay back when they were introduced: tried to come online every day so I wouldn't miss a multiplier day.

Oh that reminds me, I should share my team! I was gonna do it in Sam's thread, but that hasn't been posted in in a long while so I didn't want to bump it.

Granbull with Ground Gem
I gave it swords dance as a non-attacking move. This is my lead, and it's really good as one because it has few weaknesses and can hit both of its weaknesses with Sand Tomb. Also there are a million dragon types in the battle subway.

Darmanitan with Ice Gem
I gave it Focus Energy as its non-attacking move, but it could also have swords dance probably. This is a good revenge killer, since it's fast but has no defenses. Also fire and ice can hit many Pokemon supereffectively.

Mega Lucario with Bug Gem
I focused on special attacks for this guy: Mirror Shot, Vacuum Wave, and Silver Wind. Silver Wind is my only way to hit Psychic types supereffectively, so this is one weakness of my team. But most of my pokemon are fast and strong and can hit psychic types neutrally pretty well.

Excadrill with Electric Gem
Spark lets me hit water types that try to counter me. If I can get off a swords dance with this guy, it's basically unstoppable. I usually do that against electric types.

Mega Alakazam with Fighting Gem
Protect is its non-attacking move, but I don't usually use it ever. Vacuum Wave is good for unsuspecting dark types. This thing is a major powerhouse, but of course it's very frail, so if there are any fast ghost types around, it's not a good idea to bring this guy out. Speaking of which, ghosts are also a type that my team doesn't have a counter to, so I just use neutral damage on them.

Mega Manectric with Ice Gem
This thing is my favorite thing ever. It can sweep through 4/6 of a team regularly. Electric hits everything except ground and grass at least neutrally. If a ground or grass type comes in, I've got Powder Snow. If a dragon type comes in, which they often do because there are frequently teams with like 3 pseudo legendary or legendary dragon types, they get wrecked. This pokemon is a must-have.

So my team is basically 6 strong, fast attackers with no tank. But it works, and I'm on a streak of 90 something that I've put on pause because I'm not leveling anything at the moment.

XD. I'm sure it'll also be a godsend for the next DoTW. I shamelessly tested it out on 2 onixes. Omg it's a huge boost. Both onixes in the party went up by a full level per battle.

Wow that's a glass canon team you got there. (You're like the Mage from WoW. Murder everything before you can get hit hard enough to go down.) I want to give Mega Manectric a whirl cause it sounds like tons of fun, but RNG hasn't been great to me on that account. Electric types are speedy by nature overall as is and from what I saw of Mega Manectric, yeah it's a wrecking ball.

Yeah Subway's so dragon heavy it's kinda funny.

Mega Alakazam's my fav. With choice specs, it's a wrecking ball from hell. I do like to change it up once in a while with fighting gem myself just because it's so much fun.

I run a more defensive lineup right now mainly because of the lack of mega stones/gems to try out a better variety. Double tanking of different typings to cover and 4 hard hitters.

Ghost is my issue too. I have my Flaming Zoroark for that. He's the weakest link in the team, but he gets the job done in certain situations. For a while I ran Haxorous due to limited choices.

My line up currently is Azumarill (Leftovers) | Skarmory (Leftovers) | Mega Alakazam (Choice Specs/Fighting Gem) | Sawk (Choice Band) | Flaming Zoroark (Electric Gem) | Dugtrio. All have Haze to nullify effects and recover. The exception being Skarmory.

It's doing alright so far, but there are certain problems I do run into like other Psychic and Ghost types. That's where my two tanky ones come in to cover the type weaknesses of the blitzers of the team. That's until I can figure out better alternatives until then. So my strategy is if I can't outright beat their asses instantly then I'll outlast them.

Since we're sharing about teams, here's mine:

Lead - Mega Alakazam @ Choice Specs.

Murders anything that isn't a special tank or resistant to Psychic. OHKO's Haxoruses without fail.
Too frail to make use of defensive options.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers.

My main tank, handles majority of dragons and fairies really well. Surprise Fire Gem users wreck it easily, however.
Has Swords Dance and Rest for defensive options.

Haxorus @ Choice Band.

One of my physical powerhouses, can be a bit too slow. Ruins anything, if he outspeeds and opponent isn't resistant. Maybe I'll try to experiment with scarf.

Sawk @ Choice Scarf.
The fast physical sweeper, and main anti-Ferrothorn pokemon.

Milotic @ Leftovers.
The dedicated special tank, mainly used on pokemon that Ferrothorn has problem handling.

Shiny Mega Manectric @ Choice Specs.
Incredibly frail special glass cannon. Hits hard and fast, yet falls just as easily.

It's not perfect, but on average the team lasts for about streak of 330. Tower NPC's are hardly a problem.

Ferrothorn, now that's one tank I waffled on for a bit to use or not. I may make a secondary team with him on there and give it a test drive. Also wanted to play with a Mega Aero as well. XD

Thought I'd pop back and say heyyyy. Uni is kicking me about with not 1, not 2, but 6 exams to do over summer because I was so ill for most of them. They're over on the 31st too so I can't bloody WAIT. it also means I can actually purchase a tablet

The Spiky Eared Pichu one, Weather Gods, and a vacation to remember. If I hadn't been on call last night I would have finished it in time. I'll wait another month or two I guess. My schedule is so spontaneous that it's driving me up the wall right now. I tried going for low feeds and lots of interactions/pokemon leveling to cut down on time. Spammed all those orbs to find items. Siggggggh. It's the feed the mon part that kills me when I get no interactions from people 90% of the time these days, they'd rather mooch than return.
