That's definitely not what happened with my Chingling-I got it around the time the only Alolans available were the starters, and checking the releaser's profile, I see they have other Gen 7 eggs in their party waiting to be hatched. They've been gone over a year though...rip those eggs.

On the topic: I found some shinies on the safari back then too. And released some myself, at least I recall releasing a shiny Charizard and some other(s). The reason? Back then the megas hadn't been released yet and I wasn't focusing into getting a shiny living dex so I released my duplicates to make someone else's day. Now I keep my dupes to give away when I feel like doing it idk.

Also, why do I keep getting she shinies I absolutely do not want in ORAS or XY? Gosh darn it! I was hunting a shiny skitty in Oras yesterday and guess what? I ended up with ANOTHER shiny Taillow. Now I have 2 sh. Taillows and 2 shiny Swellows. Very funny. I'm hunting shiny Nidoran F/M in XY today. If I find another shiny Stunky I swear I'll kill it.

I remember I could find so many Novelty Eggs in the Shelter at one point. Now they are a fond memory lol.
On the topic of shines, I was dumb back around 09 to 12 and literally didn't grab any shiny I found in the shelter because I waned to find them myself. Regretting that now. Because I've been looking for a Shiny Tropius since literally 2012 lol.

Now I have 2 sh. Taillows and 2 shiny Swellows. Very funny. I'm hunting shiny Nidoran F/M in XY today. If I find another shiny Stunky I swear I'll kill it.

On my end, I keep finding Shinies in my Nuzlockes, but never in regular playthroughs (Fortunately Shiny Clause is a thing, but still). First was a Female Snorunt in Moon (I traded a Dawn Stone over from Sun because Shiny Female Glalie is too much of a waste). Most recent was a Swadloon in Black 2. Who I encountered less than 10 steps after my Leavanny died. And then there was my Ultra Sun Nuzlocke, where I found a Shiny Cubone and a Shiny Araquanid.

At this point, I still remain unconvinced that shinies outside of the free Gyarados in GSC/HGSS aren't all an elaborate hoax, and that they actually exist.

Good morning Everyone!

I just read through the previous page and saw that we were, for a while, talking about the funny "what-if" for a Nesting Doll novelty. Truth be told? I LOVE that idea!! Seriously though, I like the idea of a really tough Pokemon needing massive amounts of clicks to hatch. Makes one really work for it, eh? What if... the Pokemon was different for everyone? And, what if, it actually did hatch shinies, but the Pokemon are always different and once someone got a specific shiny Pokemon from the Nesting Doll, it removed that Pokemon as a possibility from everyone else? It should definitely cost a lot of prize points. 500 or 1,000. It would definitely force those vying for it to be more active and gamble with the weekly Pokehunts.

And if the talk was about random shinies in game... I really don't know what that is like. I found ONE shiny in all the time I've played the DS Pokemon games. I've been playing Ultra Sun now for several months (I think going into years now) and haven't found one freaking shiny. GPX is nicer with shinies then Nintendo. *sad sigh* I'd love to do trades for shiny Pokemon (and did a while back with a fellow GPXer ) in game, but most of them want either a legendary or a shiny legendary in return. It's hard to find "down to earth" traders in the GTS system (if I'm naming that correctly). With this said, my daughter caught 2 shinies in the same game a while back. I didn't speak to her for about 3 days.

Another Pokemon related tidbit... and even a GPX Pokemon tidbit... I'm on my first run (whaaaaaaaaaaaa??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) of this one exploration and found my Charmander feeling quite poisoned. So if anyone happens by him, if you have a sweet berry (Pecha) in your pocket... we'd so appreciate it. *super hugs*

@Mamanator, Oh I'm not talking about random shinies, I'm talking about shinies you actually hunt for. Like, I don't dare to try to hunt in games previous to gen VI (except for Celebi in Crystal) because the odds are much lower and it's difficult to complete your pokédex now because the GTS has been disabled. But GEN VI and GEN VII shinies are very simple to hunt for if you have your shiny charm AND actually have the time and patience to do it.
The normal odds to find a shiny in those gens are ~1/4018, they rise to ~1/1366 with the shiny charm, and then, depending on the method you use to hunt they can get much higher. In XY, when you hunt in the friend safari, you don't even need the shiny charm, the chance to find a shiny is ~1/512. In gen USUM, if you use the SOS method, the chance to find a shiny after a chain of 31 encounters (with shiny charm) is ~1/273.

As you see, the odds are very high, although you need some preparation, time and patience. Because sometimes you find a shiny after, say, 20 encounters, and other times it takes you 900 (or more).

When I said I never get the pokemon I hunt for in ORAS and XY it's because I use the DexNav, Horde and Friend Safari methods for hunting and most of the times I end up with one of the other pokemon available instead of the one I was hunting for

Reminds me of the time I found 4 shiny braixen in a fire safari looking for shiny slugma. I gave one to a friend in my dorm hall, one to the safari owner, kept one for myself, and then wonder traded the last one because I was just so angry at its continued existence.

Also just found out that my Rarity 9 Voltorb Grenade was offered a Rarity 8 Immortality Helmet. Don't try to pull the wool over people's eyes, folks, the Big Book can and will rat you out.

I wasn't that offer, but I often offer the highest level trinket I can find that says people don't have it already, or I'll offer like a rarity 6 holiday trinket for a rarity 7 standard one and so on. Do you consider that trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes? Honestly I rarely look at the trade value and just look at do I have the offer or not.

Did make an offer on that voltorb thing now tho ;p

I'm so close to having all the T3 trinkets. I just need Creepy Crustle Art, Love for Gardevoir Print, and Easter Egg garland. I have all the 1 and 2 trinkets.

Well, I'm not really expecting Disc-Form Genesect to ever be released, since if it was going to happen, it would have likely been done ages ago. But I'm keeping my spares, because if I DON'T, the second I release them, we would get the announcement "Disc Form Genesect can now be made." Of course, you'd need to FIND the aforementioned discs, but ...

Another thing I'm happy/excited about is that I found subtitles for this one anime about parakeets (believe they're called "budgies" in some areas). Been wanting to watch it for a while. I can understand quite a bit of what they're saying but I still prefer to watch things subbed out of habit.

Probably...a lot, lol. And same, I've been snapping up any Nihilego Egg I've been seeing recently. Trying to speed through my monthly explos before the SWSH starts, too.
