Yeah, unlike in the actual games, you can't get eggs if the daycare 'mons are closely related.

Hey y'all! It's been awhile since I've been around. Glad I got to participate in the Halloween event a little bit. Now I'm slagging through DotW again. Task 11, joy of joys.
Is anyone else attempting NaNoWriMo? I'm having a difficult time finding the will to write. -------------------- |

I'm not doing NanoWriMo for that exact reason; 0 motivation. Maybe one day I'll finish the oneshot I've been working on since literally last December...but an entire novel just isn't something i could do at the moment.
Good luck with the writing, though! If you don't write a whole lot, it is not a big loss. NanoWriMo is an activity in which there aren't really any actual losers. -------------------- |

What are y'all voting for in this month's SWSH? I picked Nosepass, Spinarak, and Meowth.

I'm surprised we get to vote this time. I was expecting a mod team pick due to how it's just a few more days to go.
Went with Deerling, Phione, and Morelull. Having a hard time choosing. -------------------- |

You make a good point with that; the short time frame completely slipped my mind. Maybe the mods were too busy to open up voting for a bit. Those are solid choices; the shinies for all of those [especially Sawsbuck] are quite nice. -------------------- |

I haven't been paying much attention to the site, just the regular grab n' hatch eggs. Sorry everyone for my lack of clicks, I hope to return soon.
My picks for the site wide shiny hunt are Carnivine, Snorunt and Phione. Just voting on pokemon whose shinies I don't have yet. -------------------- •TRINKET TRADING PLACE•||FC: 4055-4266-5767 POKEMON SHINY HUNTER//XY; ORAS; SUMO; USUM Spoiler (click to show ) |

If I want to SWSH for a pokemon I'm already hunting, do I have to cancel the hunt, then wait a week? I never thought about how those rules would interact before.

As a special exception, the usual wating period won't apply, so you can join the SWSH right away.
e: found the relevant bit in the help page QUOTE If you have a normal hunt active for the Pokemon you'd like to hunt, you'll need to cancel that first (though you'll be able to immediately start a hunt for the site-wide hunt, bypassing the normal waiting time).

Ayyy I voted for Squirtle, and it actually got picked! And I guess my vote actually mattered, since it's at 23 votes and Gible was at 22

Not sure if this'll be useful here, but a fair warning for Switch users anyway:
Don't buy the digital version of Sword/Shield! A severe bug has been found with Auto-Save option. It can cause a game crash and wipe your Switch microSD card clean in result, deleting all games and saves, and worse yet, there's a chance this bug may brick the console all together. If you already own the game/s, turn off Auto Save ASAP and hope for the best. Jesus, i knew things weren't looking good a few days ago, but this stuff is on another level of trainwreck. Edit: oh man, it keeps getting worse, as there is one report of bricking Switch from a physical cartridge, too. This post has been edited by Gigadyne: Nov 15 2019, 12:01 PM -------------------- |

Thanks for the headsup. I turned off autosave immediately.

I want to elaborate a bit on this, after reading a little more about it:
There are reports on now 2 different, really bad crash prone bugs: 1) The Auto Save one. The majority of reports happened to Japanese players, with both physical and digital version alike. Although i heard someone from Spain also got a brick/orange screen of death on Switch after playing Pokemon. Some people recommend to reformat the SD cards to old FAT32 to avoid risk of data wipe and brick, but it won't stop the potential crashes. That, or getting a separate SD for digital Sword/Shield. 2) And now, the Sleep Mode crash. Apparently, some people got hard crashes after putting the new games in sleep mode. Won't get past Switch logo on system reboot level of bad. This whole mess is simply amazing, the long resolved X/Y Lumiose save glitch looks like a child's play now. There should be a patch coming after this, but how long it will take? Who knows. This post has been edited by Gigadyne: Nov 15 2019, 01:03 PM -------------------- |
