I regret not participating because I've missed out on Scratch Cards now, and I loooooove Scratch Cards. Also the Meltan Box which I am too cheap to buy, but eh. I hope everyone enjoys their vouchers!
And a happy ten years to GPX+ It's been a big part of my life. Not so much anymore, as is the case for many other past players, but I won't ever forget it. -------------------- |

Imho it is unfair toward the players to keep the prizes in secret (and what is needed in order to obtain them). I'm relatively new to this site and just came back in february after six months hiatus, so I had no idea about those scratch cards and for what those coins are. I thought there will appear some kind of shop after the end of event, where you can exchange your coins for variety of prizes (because I remember an event with similar conception, I believe that was one with easter eggs). So I figured 250 coins would be enough to receive at least something good from this event. Who knew that there's no such thing! Who knew that all that matters are certain thresholds of total coins, and any amount of coins between them doesn't matter. For instance I couldn't even imagine that I'm going to need 500 coins in order to get something good from the event. And 500 coins seemed quite possible for me - but here comes a lack of knowledge.
Not to mention this horrendous random distribution of event pokemons lol. Me, just as a lot of other people, got nothing from them at all. This is how the events on this site work? Basically I ended up with useless for me legend voucher and a couple of pokechests/vitamins from the cards. Feels kinda disappointing. I'll keep in mind to not put any effort in the events in future, thanks to their random nature and "we won't reveal anything until the end of event" conception. |

I'll keep in mind to not put any effort in the events in future, thanks to their random nature and "we won't reveal anything until the end of event" conception. 1) A big difference between holiday hatching events and this one are the "currency" gotten from eggs. Once coins are in, and you can get more than 300 of them, it means the threshold is above than 1000. Looking into Stats and Top coin users sections would reveal anything you need to know. 2) Even though it wasn't stated, this event was a replacement of sorts for missed Hanukkah. And most of users are familiar how gathering coins/prize exchangement works. And by that, I mean the rough estimate of prizes and the amount of coins needed for such. 3) Only notable egg distributions were Shiny Litten and Blacephalon, imo. Breeders are already working with the latter. And those were probably the last distributions for a while. You sound rather upset over the lack of information you could get over both the forum and site itself. Even if you didn't got what you wanted, the anniversary was worthwhile. The news header was updated each day, and there was 10 days worth of time to gather information you need. What stopped you from checking this thread while the event was active? And lastly, the egg hatching events that aren't Hanukkah are fairly new addition. The mainstays are Site wide shiny hunts and Scavenger hunts. There were many things given out from this event, including TWO new explorations. And if you got at least one coin, which you did, you got a Mystery Box that summons Meltan. Now you don't have to pay 800,000 points and you got the item early. You should be thankful you at least got that, to say you got nothing worthwhile is ridiculous. Basically I ended up with useless for me legend voucher "useless" legend voucher? bro i've been here since the site opened and i still covet those things. unless you've got a full dex then i don't see how a free legendary would be useless, especially since the vouchers can be hard to come by and monthly explorations are rotated in and out. also your entire post sounded very ungrateful. i'm sorry you didn't get much from the event, but a lot of people didn't. i only got a couple things from it myself, but i'm not gonna complain about it cus the mods have put in so much of their time into this event and this site and the fact that we're still here after 10 years is kind of amazing. anyway, stepping off my soapbox to ask: is there a way to keep track of how many meltan candies you have? can't seem to find anything relating to that... -------------------- |

lmao, I remember when I was new to the site and event distributions were the only way to get most legendaries and novelties. Distributions these days are more of a bonus than anything. Recently, the only brand-new species that have been given out through random distributions are breedable, so it's really just a way to introduce a breeding population to the game.
Kids these days don't know how good they have it, get off my lawn, etc. etc. -------------------- |

Thanks for the Event!
Managed to grab a shiny voucher although for some weird reason I would've preferred a legend voucher to complete my egg dex a little more. Should've hatched less eggs. I just hatched my first bunch of Meltan eggs and one hatched shiny. Didn't expect that at all. I guess that would be the first shiny Meltan on the side (shiny count does say 0 atm)? -------------------- |

Compared to a lot of people here, I am rather new (despite being on site for a while but only ever really appearing to hatch eggs and that's about it haha) but is there anything we can do with the coins we collected during the event? Or are they just there?
Despite being a member since 2016 I don't know a whole lot about it ^^; This post has been edited by Rojurou: Feb 16 2019, 11:18 AM -------------------- |

Look up a little for Zerxer's post about the full list. And they're no longer active, and will be reset to zero next time, probably around next Hanukkah. Ah thank you very much for the clarification! I saw my coin count was still at 139 so wasn't sure if they were 'usable', good to know they'll be reset next time!

I want to respond to something from Shiny Hitmonlee's post that I actually agreed with. There was a lot of complaining in their post, which I'm not supporting, but one particular aspect I can find completely valid re: not knowing the prizes ahead of time:
I 100% agree with Gigadyne on this! Also, you state you got 250 coins but COULD have gotten 500 coins. QUOTE And 500 coins seemed quite possible for me Then why didn't you? I was at 450 coins myself, and had I known there was a specific 500-coin tier prize just ahead of me, it would have pushed me to try super hard to get those last 50 coins I needed. With 20/20 hindsight, I was upset at myself for not putting in the effort to get 500. So that's one thing I can agree with Hitmonlee here on. However, I am very thankful for this event, and like I said, I don't agree with the complaining, but I do think this point is fair. -------------------- |

I think you guys need to understand something which everyone who is complaining is failing to do:
There's a reason for the tiers. The grand prize is supposed to be elusive very hard to get prize. IF everyone knew that if I hatch "x" amount of eggs to get this prize, everyone would try and we would have 200+ with it. PLUS, look at past events, being in the top 5% means u get top prize, so why not already try. NOT EVERYONE CAN GET IT, THAT'S THE POINT. The tiers are made after everyone gets their coins so they can map it out accordingly. They can't hand out 250+ Shiny Legend Voucher Plus. That's insane.... This event was amazing and fun. Thank you. Thank you for the surprise Scratch Card!
I didn't get anything particularly exciting but last year I did manage to get my hands on a Moon Flute for my Cosmoem just hours after I obtained it, so I can't say my luck is all bad. Happy 10th Anniversary GPX+, and what a blast it has been. Trainer Emily. -------------------- |
