Hello everyone!

We've gotten reports in the last couple weeks of desktop players' browser tabs freezing and/or crashing while they're trying to mass-click using the Berry Feeder on GPX+. You may have noticed this yourself if you were interacting and your browser tab kept crashing.

After a bit of investigation we've narrowed this down to a bug in the current version (v120) of desktop Chromium browsers. That means that you are only affected if you use a browser like Chromium itself, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Vivaldi or Opera. Safari and Mozilla Firefox aren't affected. Specifically, it seems like the crash is down to loading new Pokémon pages too quickly on the Berry Feeder page, especially if you're using the hotkeys and you press two keys at once frequently.

The bug has been fixed in the upcoming version of Chromium, v121. Chromium and Google Chrome are scheduled to be updated to this version in late January 2024, and updates to other browsers will quickly follow. There is nothing that we can do on the site to fix the bug before that, but in the meantime we can suggest some workarounds:
  • Use an unaffected browser to interact, like Firefox or Safari.
  • Use the beta version of your browser. The current beta versions of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are both already fixed, and you can download them alongside your current browser. We do not recommend using an older version of your browser, though.
  • Avoid interacting with multiple keys; for example, click with one key at a time (like 222222) instead of several (234513).
Hopefully this is helpful until the bug goes away. If you have any questions or updates feel free to leave them here. Happy clicking totodile.gif

Thanks for looking into things! Very much appreciated. Glad to hear that it is fixable / the problem will resolve itself in time.

Once again thank you to everyone who worked on this for your time and effort! Hope everyone has a great holiday season!

That explains what was happening the other night. I had a couple of hours where I was hoping to "ketchup" with my clicking and stopped after I kept getting the error. I went to the "Is it down" website and it said you were fully operational. I just figured it was me. Thank you for investigating and letting me (us) know that it isn't just me. happy.gif

With my new 8 am to 5 pm job - spare click time is hard to come by. I'll have to see if I still have Firefox availability. Otherwise, I'll just "deal" until the fix is incorporated.

Ya gotta love technology, right? LOL

Again, thanks!

*EDIT*
I was able to install FireFox on my laptop so I'm back in action. Dang! I've missed quick click'n. LOL Thanks for letting us know what browsers would work. When I'm off from work and my personal time is mine... I have missed being out here and clicking and seeing all the cool Pokemon. Thanks!

Hatch'em all!

Thanks for the update! I assumed the Chrome update was to blame. I'd rather not use the beta version, so I'll be sticking with Firefox for GPX for the time being and will swap back once the next stable release of Chrome drops.

I thought I was crazy, thinking this was only me and something wrong with my extensions or something. Grateful to know that I'm not alone with this issue!

Hey all, just want to post here to inform everyone that as of now the mentioned Chrome update above (v121) has been released on the stable build of Chrome and Edge, so make sure to update your browser. If you are currently using a different Chromium browser you may have a slight delay with the update, but it should release soon! For anyone wondering Chrome Beta (v122) is also experiencing no issues, so no bumps on the road in the near future!

Currently, Opera is known to not have received the update. Depending on how far back it's release schedule is, it could take a bit more time before fully caught up, hopefully not too long! If your Chromium browser is not Chrome or Edge there may be a delay like with Opera.

Opera with Chromium v121 started to roll out last week, so it seems this is solved. If you have any issues with clicking now, please make a new thread and maybe come complain in Discord.
