Kanji's shadow in Persona 4, it was a pain to try to defeat two of the shadows before attacking the main ones because if you didn't ues the right attacks it would take forever to try to defeat them. I didn't pull out any hairs but I let out grunts of frustration.

Continuing on that Atlus thought, I'd have to say the original Devil Survivor on your second or third playthrough taking Naoya's route. I didn't pull out any hairs either but I did ragequit in silence a few times. Because, you know, seven or eight bosses in a row with no healing really hurts :P

For those who have played the game, the Shadow Lord in Nier was probably the worst fight I have ever encountered on any game, and probably the saddest as well. Made me cry, that guy. T-T
Also, I know this is not a boss, but there is also another creature that made me want to throw a puppy at my television and roll on the floor while having a hernia. If you've ever played Bioshock 2, you'll understand. The Big Sisters they have in that game are devious little mothers. They're not bosses, but they're hard to kill. And I mean HARD TO KILL. It took me at least half an hour to take one down. And that was after dying so many times! Other than that, I've had some trouble with Tabuu in SSBB, Wigglytuff's Guild in PMD, and that last series of fights leading up to the last battle in Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth Remix. -------------------- Quizzes (click to show ) Art Done For Me! For me, it's a toss up between the Black Knight and Ashera, both from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. The Black Knight was tough in Path of Radiance (the prequel) as well, but that was because it requires luck to win. Ashera is just so damn powerful, and on top of that, Ike is the only one who can actually finish her off because he gets blessed with the power to defeat her.
The Black Knight is hard in Radiant Dawn because he has the Nihil skill, which makes Ike's Aether skill useless due to the fact that Nihil prevents the opponent from using any skills. And, the guy is just damn powerful. Another boss battle I really had trouble with was the Helmasaur King in Zelda: A Link to the Past. Damn it, that beast was hard! That stupidly fast tail swipe and those fast fireballs he spits. Good lord. Oh, and she isn't really a BOSS, but Cynthia was really hard to beat in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. I'm glad she and the E4 got nerfed in Platinum. This post has been edited by Kelleo: Dec 24 2012, 11:22 PM -------------------- My art thread. The hardest boss I've ever faced is a three way between Galactus from Marvel vs Capcom 3, my brother using Fat Princess in Playstation All Stars Battle Royale, and Tabuu.

Mine was Egg Emperor from Sonic Heroes as a child. The charge he did if you fell too far behind always got me.
Now? Heh... I cannot remember any boss battles that have given me trouble. Perhaps it is bad memory. |

I've been playing A Link Between Worlds for about a month now, and I have to say that of all the bosses I've fought so far in that game, Zaganaga (Desert Palace boss) is quite possibly the most infuriating boss in the game by far.
He's mentioned on TV Tropes' That One Boss-Action Games' Zelda folder, and I fully agree with that assessment. As for why he's a big PITA? 1. The fight takes place above a quicksand pit with a spattering of single-block platforms located at random spots. 2. He has an attack where he spits out three Peahats, which can and will ram into you, possibly knocking you into the quicksand. 3. (This is the big one, folks) After he Turns Red, he gets a sand beam attack with a pretty good range that does a decent amount of damage to you (IDR how much right now). The only way you can attack him? You need to use the Sand Rod/Nice Sand Rod to create a sand platform bridge to the platform he's currently at and swipe at him with your sword. And if you haven't upgraded the Sand Rod, those platforms will crumble away after a short amount of time. I can beat him, but usually end up taking heavy damage doing so. Since I've played it so much, I've started a Self-Imposed Challenge of trying to defeat the bosses without taking a single hit. This bastard is the only boss that I won't do this against, because it'd be committing tactical suicide. -------------------- I'm also known as Queen_Lugia on SPPf, and Queen-Articuno on dA, as well as a former aspiring trinketer on GPX+, a proud TheRunawayGuys fangirl, a proud participant of Extra Life, and proud supporter of TwitchPlaysPokemon.

@MAE: Zaganaga was a bit hard for me, but I hated it the first time. Besides, there's two more bosses that I found to be harder, from two different (famous) Nintendo series.
1. Cynthia (Pokémon Diamond). First of all, I found Cynthia hard. Don't laugh at me because "she's a weakling, you n00b, hahaha." I had the traded Chatot, Charap, as my main fighter because at the time I considered higher level to be higher potential. I was seven at the time, so don't beat me up about it. 2. Yuga - Final Battle (Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds). Yuga is f*cking hard. I could have torn my 3DS screen off if I hadn't quit in time. I mean, holy sh*t. The first battle is easy, second battle actually somewhat difficult, but neither of them is anywhere NEAR the difficulty of the final battle. F*ck this, I'm quitting. -------------------- I used to be Cyogre, ILoveTaillowHesCute, TaillowIsCuteAndCool, Tart Spop, Tartius Spopius, Tartii, King of the Eevees and MasteroftheFlames. If you know me under any of those names, yeah, that's me. In-Game Teams (click to show ) Hoping to get Social Networking! I'd really appreciate an add. Arcanine! I distinctly remembering losing the second battle against Riku in the original Kingdom Hearts so many times that I ended up having the entire cutscene before the fight (which was impossible to skip through!) memorized. Seriously, screw that guy.

Actually, I found Yuga!Ganon difficult as well, but for a different reason: figuring out how to deal damage to that final form on my own without using my strategy guide.
I mean, come on! Having to move away from him until he turns around and starts pursuing you from the opposite direction and then hitting him with the Bow of Light? ProTip: Get that Red Mail. The additional 25%(?) damage-reduction helps a lot. That previous statement on ALBW boss difficulty was made when I hadn't even finished the game. So, now that I've completed it, my opinion has changed a bit. Now I'm playing through the game on Hero Mode, and the only boss that made me Game Over? Knucklemaster, boss of the Skull Woods dungeon. I had to eventually do the Swamp Palace before taking on SW so I had the damage-halving Blue Mail. And even with that, I didn't take any chances. None of the other bosses made me GO on HM. Anyways, I have a few new ones to add. (1) Phytops, Barbed Menace (Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and is also mentioned on TOB: Action.) I hate, HATE, HATE this bastard. Why? Allow me to recount the ways: Shooting off acid(?) intermittently throughout the trek up to the boss arena and the ensuing battle? Check. Relying on cheap moves? Check. Being a boss battle on an arena where if you get knocked off the edge, you take damage? Check. Slamming his tentacles in hard to dodge patterns? Check. Of all the ST bosses, he's one of the two I have the greatest difficulty with. (The other is Skeldritch, Ancient Demon, BTW. Who at least has the excuse of being the final temple boss to explain his high difficulty.) There's very good reason I give him some rather unflattering nicknames (Plantbastard 2.0 and Fucktops, Bastard Rosebush for those curious folk out there. There's two bosses I call 'Plantbastard', the other being the already mentioned Zaganaga.), ya know. (2) Puppet Ganon-Snake Form (Zelda: Wind Waker HD, again also mentioned on TOB: Action) I expected the penultimate boss of the game to be hard, yes, but PGSF really battered me. Mostly because he just runs around on the lower portion of the arena and I didn't figure out that I could Hookshot onto the platforms surrounding the arena until I had used both of my Bottled Fairies. Ganondorf himself was easy compared to PGSF.

I remember when I was younger the final boss in Sonic and the Dark Brotherhood gave me quite the problem (not as Super Sonic). Also because my L button wouldn't work for my Gamecube, Mecha Bowser in Super Mario Sunshine was hard too.
