It's amazing to think that on February 14th, we will be having our very own Tenth Anniversary of this site! When Nick, Wymsy and Jeff created this site, they created something amazing that brought so many people together. Not only have we shared a love of Pokémon and created many interesting and new novelties as well as introduced so many innovative aspects to the site from where it began, it's also led to meeting friends, new-found family, and, for some of us, the loves of our lives.
When we realised it was going to be the tenth anniversary, we thought we had to do something big to celebrate with all of you. Starting on the 4th until the 14th, hatching red, white, and pink Pokémon* will earn coins! What you can earn with these coins will be revealed on the 14th. But! that's not all we're doing, we're going to have a surprise for you for ten days leading up to and including February 14th! We won't tell you what these surprises are, but we will give you a few hints! The Tenth Anniversary is traditionally celebrated with gifts of Tin. We're also replacing berries with candies earlier this year! Hope you have all the fun! * This is by the base Pokémon's dex color (on GPX) and not by the egg or an evolution's color (if different). EVENT UPDATES: Day 1: Our first gift to you is a new Exploration called Journey of the Mind! Enjoy! Day 2: A VicTINi distribution! Day 3: a Pink Caterpie distribution Day 4: A GiraTINa distribution Day 5: Valentacool distribution Day 6: Shiny LitTEN distribution Day 7: Ten Shiny Trinket Chest distribution Day 8: Honey Giftbag distribution Day 9: Blacephalon distribution Day 10: A new Exploration! For Valentine's Day! Written and Drawn (aren't y'all lucky) by your beloved Darth Krytie. Coin prizes: https://forums.gpx.plus/index.php?s=&sh...t&p=2495872 -------------------- Please use the Help Page and appropriate Help Forum instead of PMing me. I first visited this website in June of 2009 on my first account, the same summer I played my first Pokemon game, Pokemon Diamond. A fledgling yet thriving experience, only on its feet for several months, GPXPlus proved yet another piece of my childhood, so much of which was spent on the Internet building a sense of who I was and what I enjoyed but also enjoying the simplicity of youth, that I have come in later years to hold an immense affectation for. This first era of my activity on GPX held its own sense of wonder - getting to see in real time novelties such as the Kanto Clones being released, seeing the involved roles and colorful personalities of administrators, moderators, and even members, and participating in an overwhelming, constant activity which seems like a dream now.
Though my activity dwindled around 2012, I always kept this website in my thoughts in some form, and there were many moments where I would log back into my old account, paw around, and consider opening up shop again. But I never truly acted upon this until last November - I created this account as a blank slate, not only because a blank slate satisfied me, but because I enjoyed the idea of ascribing the strength and clarity I've found in myself as a person to something entirely new. I've surpassed the goals I'd set on that old account with flying colors; I never expected I'd find myself in the top 200 so soon, and while I'm endlessly behind the curve, it's still my goal to do even better and be as active on this website as I can possibly be, no matter how my life changes from this point on. In this second era of activity on this website I've found endless satisfaction in revisiting something that I once held dear in the halcyon days of childhood, and it feels good to touch upon what has made me feel happy in the past, even if it's something as ultimately inconsequential in the long span of my life as a video game on the Internet. No time spent having fun will ever be time wasted. Perhaps now this website is still in its twilight years, even after it passed through the danger of being shut down years ago, and it's doubtful that we'll ever see the activity this website enjoyed in its dawn. But I am glad to be here now, and I'm planning on sticking around until the lights go out. It might seem over the top to write a big love letter such as this one. But that's what Valentine's Day, and any anniversary, is about, and few things bring me greater joy than writing about my appreciation for what makes my life richer. I love you, GPXPlus. -------------------- |

Does that mean the EGGS need to be those colors? Or that the pokemon inside are those colors? It's probably whatever the color the 'dex says, regardless of what you think you see. -------------------- |

OK ,it's so hard to remember which pokemon is red ,white and pink . I have a living dex in my PC so I can just search through that using the color as a filter. Alternately, you can search in your pokedex tab (just change the color in the center to be whichever you want) : -------------------- |

What an exciting time to be on GPX... what a bad time to be involved in a workshop in Vegas with your boss looking over your shoulder and judging your every move. I missed both daily events and won't be able to enjoy this until I get home on the 8th in the afternoon. Gah!
Oh well. I hope you all are enjoying these sweet gifts and I can't wait to reconnect and see what I missed and what I might be eligible for later. -------------------- |

Also is the new exploration permanent? I'm stuck on an annoying couple steps of Death of the World (gotta keep earning those coins) and I'd hate to quit it if I don't need to. But I also don't want to miss out on the new exploration if it just so happens to be available for a limited time.

I'm not seeing anything new in the dex, haven't seen the site go down, and haven't seen an excess of anything specific (outside of red/pink/white eggs) in people's parties on the user page that wasn't there before, so I would guess nothing's happened yet. -------------------- |

Of course I just did a quick pass through on the User list and didn't actually open up anything. B. Who says any potential pokemon would be new? It could just be a re-issue. Maybe Magearna or something. -------------------- |

IIRC, the Hoopa formes were already released. So perhaps the exploration is simply meant to make something easier to obtain?

IIRC, the Hoopa formes were already released. So perhaps the exploration is simply meant to make something easier to obtain? Well, the exploration's under the items tab and someone else mentioned the prize was a prison bottle, so it would let you form change Hoopa into its unbound form. Though I think the topic of conversation is about the day two clue, where 'making space' would insinuate something's possibly going to be given out... and it seems like nothing's happened (yet). -------------------- |

My guess is that it'll be a distribution at the usual time, 4 pm server time.

I checked the users list in a zoomed-out tab because it's easier for clicking while watching videos, and I thought the distributed egg was Growlithe and got very confused. I can tell what it is from the description, though.
Didn't get one, but oh well, I already used up this year's luck on my New Years Poipole, so. I wonder if there's any guaranteed shinies? -------------------- whoops I just went on the forums to flail about Poipole, maybe I'll make a good signature one day

Something has been distributed, but I can't figure out what exactly. I'm seeing quite a few of the same egg on the Users page. It's not new, I don't think. It's not new. And the hint now makes perfect sense. EDIT - Well, sense at least. PERFECT sense would have been someone else. This post has been edited by RicFule: Feb 6 2019, 04:12 PM -------------------- |

Oh yes ,I just get the Victini? So the event 2 end? No, the event isn't over. That was just today's surprise. Per the first post, we're still going to get other daily surprises until Valentine's Day. But "Event 2" is over. As in the event for the second day. I don't think koala meant the whole thing, just the thing for the current day. Of course, I could have been reading that wrong, but ... -------------------- |

Aw, didn't get the Day 2 surprise. But I didn't really need it (I even have the shiny version in my Pokedex) and it's early in the event so lots more chances for surprises!

Congratulations to everyone who got the Victini!
I really wanted one because I never embark on explorations and would never be able to get one otherwise, but out of all my friends on my PalPad, only one person got an egg, so I'm assuming the handout rate was pretty low. Looking forward for the next few days! Trainer Emily. This post has been edited by Trainer Emily: Feb 7 2019, 01:44 AM -------------------- |

Just finished the new exploration, but I have NO CLUE what the item was that I should have gotten at the end of it. Any clue? |

So... what does the event even do? I haven't seen anything other than getting 1-2 coins with each party of eggs I hatch?

So... what does the event even do? I haven't seen anything other than getting 1-2 coins with each party of eggs I hatch? Well, the front page states the coins we're getting from the eggs can be redeemed for something to be revealed on the 14th. Other than that, we've had an item exploration released on the first day and two special event releases (Victini and Pink Caterpie) with a third one on the way possibly sometime today. Sadly, not everyone's guaranteed to get something, it's random chance via computer algorithm. I would assume they might have other things planned as the event progresses, but we'll see~ -------------------- |
