Hi!
I'm a CE student working on developing a video game, purely for fun (and to look good on my resume ) and I am looking for people who are interested in helping! You would, of course, get full credit when/if I ever publish the game (which would be for free, on some website... somewhere. Maybe). I am looking for people who would be interested in drawing splash pages, or character sketches, or concept art. As well as people who would be willing to help write dialogue and fluff. And, most especially, I badly, badly, badly need people to help with all. that. sprite work.
The game is very heavily inspired by Pokemon, only with a breeding mechanic instead of leveling. That is, to get stronger creatures you have to breed your creatures, as opposed to Pokemon, where you level up your 'mons to make them stronger. It is also heavily inspired by Final Fantasy, and the zelda games, to an extent.
As a game with many different types of creatures, I'm sure you can imagine the sheer amount of sprite work I am going to need done. So, any little bit helps!
Feel free to ask any questions you want, I have a lot of background thought out already, and I would love to answer any queries you have!

I once made this pokemon thingy called Unirachnid - shall I post the drawing?

I have also done some OC designs of Fakémon that I would be willing to post images of for you to look at. I'm not terribly good at spriting (I suck majorly at shading), but there's a lot of folks on here that I do know make excellent sprites.

Oh, thank you, both of you! That would be lovely. The creatures in my game are actually going to be mostly irl animals, fantastical beasts from mythology, and various crosses. The idea is that you can have, say, a cat and a fish and breed them together to get something relatively sensible for that combination. But yeah, I'm rubbish at spriting and my sister is helping but dosn't feel too confident about scratching, so we've been trying to look at lots of examples to get a feel for how it's done. And we always need more ideas for creatures to create, the whole mechanic looses coolness if there are only a few different possible combinations!

If you want, I could certainly help out with this as well. Mostly concept art, might make some sprites. It's been a while since I've sprited, so I'm not sure I'm at the same level as before, but we'll see.

I would be interested in helping out! My spriting isn't amazing but it's decent. Were you thinking larger sprites or smaller (pokemon sized) ones?
I could also help out with any character concept art (aka humans) which I'm better at doing than most animal type things.

What kind of creatures did you need? Imaginary ones (dragons, ghosts, goblins, fakemon stuff) Or like real life things like lions, tigers, and bears (oh my )

I could also make overworld and trainer sprites if needed. I'm good at that stuff.

I thought green would be nice, although I considered purple.
Not sure if your doing shinies. If you are, I'd probably call them 'alts' instead of shiny, unless you have animation :P

Since you want mostly RL/mythological animals/creatures, I have some that qualify under that. One that I've designed is a kitsune/dragon hybrid named Kitsugon. I'll need to redo the sprite a bit, but that shouldn't take long at all.

I got my desperately-needed remake of Kitsugon done. Here:

If you do add these to your game, I'd simply like to be known as MAE or Enten, when it comes to credit.
Although I will completely understand if you don't want to use this one.

I'll do some digging through my other Fakémon to see if I can find any more that I could do sprites of. I already know of one named Icerachnid, a spider that freezes enemies with its signature move Frozen Mandible, that I'd be willing to try and sprite.
