Hello darlings! How is everyone? Only seven more weeks until new Pokemon games! Is everyone excited? We're also nearing the end of year gamut of Holidays. It's about to get busy!
Congratulations to Malachite for willing this month's site-wide shiny hunt. Congratulations, also, to everyone who hatched a shiny! Question: Sometimes there are short term distributions on Switch that are announced after I write the monthly post and expire before the next one begins. Would you want me to post in the header on the site proper? Like [Switch] (code, US, exp Oct 5th)? or just post the ones that occur within the time frame when I make the monthly post? This Month's Explorations: Deep Desires: Darkrai Spirits of the Land: Tapu Lele, Tapu Koko, Tapu Fini, Tapu Bulu Babysitting Adventure: Victini Hidden Ruins: Regice, Regirock, Registeel Current Event: Nom's Baby Bird Event! to celebrate the birth of her baby. Congratulations, Nom! Staff Birthdays: PokeNOMNOMNOM (Oct 1st!) Trinkets: October Trinkets are active! As a reminder, the first trinket box opened every day during October will have 4 guaranteed October Trinkets. Switch News: In Pokémon Legends Arceus, you can receive a Shiny Baneful Fox Mask through Mystery Gift from June 22, 2022 to May 31 2023. Please head on over to Jen's Community Thread for fun, conversation and speculation! -------------------- Please use the Help Page and appropriate Help Forum instead of PMing me. Oh first things first, and because people love short messages. Click on this link to go and vote for one of three possible themes to be promoted for next November! I can definitely see the themes going neck to neck on this one so let's see what YOU choose, so... You better go check them out! Also remember that I will update that thread, probably tomorrow, with SOME SMALL CHANGES TO THE PRE-POLL, which might make everyone a little bit happier! ° ~~ ~ ~~ ° And now, first things first: OH. MY. GOD. NOM HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I already said it but I WANT to say it again so: CONGRATULATIONS! I am sure Ava will grow up to be just a great person, especially with a parent like you. And if you ever need something from the community, don't hesitate to let us know! I'm sure most of us will help you as soon as we can! But now that I said that... Well. Ya know your Falinks Avatar friend here is a Malachite so.... ° ~~ ~ ~~ ° TO ALL MY FELLOW MALACHITES THAT WAS AMAZING GUYS. That lead we managed to keep? GOOD GOD YOU GUYS ARE ROCKING IT EVERYTIME! Sending a HUUUGE round of applause to you all! And hey, let's give it our best for the next SWSH as well because, if we get the crown again, it would be OUR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR PAINTING THE SITE GREEN! HECK YEAH! WE CAN DO THIS! ° ~~ ~ ~~ ° And now... SINISTEA MY BELOVED THANKS! Also thanks for reminding me that I have to hunt it in SW/SH... Need two authentic ones (oof-!) AND HEY BIRD EVENT HOORAY! Such a shame Porygon couldn't make it, then again it makes sense because Porygon isn't a bird anyway >:D And that's all for me. Have a great night everyone! And remember to check the poll as well! And check it again tomorrow for the updated post! Edit (Again): Regarding your question Darth... I would LOVE to see the header in the site change whenever you have any news of Pokemon codes. I'm usually SUPER bad at keeping up with those kind of news myself. HOWEVER, if it is too much of a bother then I don't mind skipping some of those codes! - Rookie This post has been edited by Rookie Roo: Oct 1 2022, 07:40 AM -------------------- |

Congrats Malachite!
I'm a little sad Missingno. isn't a prize for Octobirb, but all the other stuff should be enough to keel me over. I'm also a bit Tapu fatigued so we'll maybe focus on other explorations. Thanks for the event NOM! -------------------- |

It's been since December 2020 since the last time a SWSH was won by anyone beside Malachite. Me thinks that some re-balancing should happen (I know that roughly 1 in every 3 new users get assigned to each affinity making it equal, but still. Having hatched 2 shinies this past hunt and 6 back in July yet still overwhelmingly losing... anyways congrats to peeps who got a shiny regardless!)

Good SWSH, and very glad to see our new additions!!
Regarding the question: I don't feel too strongly about updating the header, but it could help draw people's attention to it more, which might help them see other announcements? Might help them not miss other announcements as much. -------------------- |

Having hatched 2 shinies this past hunt and 6 back in July yet still overwhelmingly losing... anyways congrats to peeps who got a shiny regardless!) Don't particularly agree; Malachite does have about 50 more active users than the other affinities it seems (that's about 12% more), but they are also more active during the SWSHs overall (on average, a Malachite user has hatched 6 more eggs than an Azurite and 8 more than a Wulfenite). The other affinities also got very bad odds this last SWSH (1/300 for Malachite, 1/315 for Azurite, 1/330 for Wulfenite). Yes, rebalancing would help, but I think it'd be a tough decision on how to even do it to make it truly even, since people's activity isn't constant. I know mine has gone down considerably in the past year, both because of my personal life and because I don't really care for the SWSH options all that much. But that might just be me. -------------------- Also helping edit the GPX Wiki, PM me if you have any information that can be added Spread the positivity! So just for the heck of it, I decided to tally in ALL of the SWSHs since they started to see where we all stand. We have had a total of 73 SWSHs. Malachites performed well in the beginning and obviously at current, and are the current overall winners totaling 32 wins. Wulfenites are the clear runner up, having had a great middle-space run, and gaining 27 wins. But if you are an Azurite, like I am, I'm sorry to say you got sorted into the unluckiest affinity, as we have only managed to secure 14 wins. Both of the other affinities have won almost double what we have. -------------------- |

Like Kingis, I have also been less inspired by SWSH lately. One and dome.
Thanks Jade for providing the full history context. I knew that Wulfenite had had a strong run which also was part of my decision to shift to minimal action. Really, as Kingis notes, there is just strong activity by current Malachite players. They have earned their results over Wulfenite but the wide range of yield feels like it is often not well distributed... and Azurite really has had a tough go. At least the benefit from winning (extra 20 Prize Points?) is relatively modest. ...if I could switch to Azurite I would become more active. But then would mess up my daycare for many months... Regards, -TM It was fun xD I was surprised how far below the Azurites were. I thought we had had a better win streak - guess not! I'm like you, the SWSHs have mostly been "get one, move on to the shinies you actually want", because many of them have been things I've already hunted for. Also, I wonder - normally towards the end of the month, we do a ghostly Halloween event - but with us doing the bird event I wonder if we won't be doing that this year? -------------------- |

I don't have a Nintendo Switch so I understand my opinion inherently has less worth, but I think it's fine to not list the ongoing events in the header. If people really want to know what's happening in the games as of a given month, they can read the entire thread; they're usually pretty short, anyway.
Also wow, halfway through October! Where on Earth is the time going? -------------------- |
