Hello, everyone!

The theme for this month is based on the phrase Dog Days of Summer! Inspired by various discord users during the Feline Frenzy event one year ago.

The event will run from the 14th of August until the 31st of August at reset. (August 13th 11:55pm ET -> August 31st 11:55pm ET).

If you had any leftover Coins from the last event in June, your total will be reset to 0 when the event begins.

The Event Shop will remain open throughout the month of September.

When the event begins at the designated time, the following canine themed Pokémon will hatch with a Coin:

Alolan Vulpix
Beeark
Eevee
Electrike
Fennekin
Fidough
Furfrou
Greavard
Growlithe
Hisuian Growlithe
Hisuian Zorua
Houndour
Lillipup
Maschiff
Nickit
Poochyena
Riolu
Rockruff
Smeargle
Snubbull
Type:Null
Vulpix
Yamper
Zorua

If you've saved enough Coins, you'll be able to exchange them for some lovely prizes in the Event Shop!
Prizes range from 10 Coins to a top prize of 500 Coins (plus up to 10 Repel at 1 Coin to help you use up any remaining balance before the shop closes at the end of September).

Woof! Good thing I still have that Electrike hunt as a holdover. I complained about this in Discord but Hisuian Zorua, Fennekin, Vulpix, and Nickit should also be included if Zorua Classic made it to the list. I feel like the Galar dogs are probably going to be rewards but I hope we get at least one Paldea dog - the spooky dog is like, one of my favorite dogs ever.

EDIT: Also Kohai mentioned Swirlix which is a real suggestion that should actually be put onto the list.

Woo coin event. Only need 5(?) more vouchers for a full unowndex, so this should knock another one off. Wish I wasn't still sick, but on the bright side, as a really-not-a-dog-person, a dog-themed event is a perfect 'break' event to play more casually as I have been.

Though, that said-

Seconding this. Even if we were to get Growlithe-H (which I assume is a given from the wording), Houndstone, AND the gen 9 breaddough dog, the list still feels really really short comparable to other events, and I doubt we're getting all 3. Rounding it out with 'technically foxes but doglike just like one entry on the list' feels like it'd help.

(Swirlix doesn't feel like a dog to me, but I wouldn't oppose it either.)

That list of dogs seemed quite manageable until it was suggested there are some more.

It is hard to believe summer is already (well past?) half over. So I will be trying to enjoy some more time in the sun in the weeks ahead.

seconded! foxes are also canines, so i think that's doglike enough to be included especially if zorua and eevee already made the list (or if poochyena counts as a dog in addition to being a hyena)

would have been fun to have a tanuki pokemon represent as another canine but shockingly there aren't any?? that seems like a major oversight, how have we not had one yet after this many generations

oh hey you're right, it's a bit ambiguous in english but i always thought since zigzagoon's japanese name was a play on the words for raccoon/badger that it was simply meant to be a raccoon rather than a raccoon dog, and that it could have definitely took some inspiration from tanuki since the two animals have some similar features but that was more speculative than explicit. but out of curiosity i just checked what word they originally used for the english title "tiny raccoon pokemon" and in japanese it's called the "small tanuki pokemon," so turns out it's in name both raccoon AND raccoon dog! zigzagoon is a fun little procyonid/canid/mustelid hybrid it seems

Seems fun but I hope we can have a few more added to the list. Could just be me but feels smaller than other events. Also, yeah, wondering if Null will still only be 1 coin. If so thats a tad painful lol. Still seems to be a fun and rewarding event. Ima be ready

Finally, after 3 months the forums let me into my account again. That being said - Smeargle is a dog?? I can see it, I suppose, but "dog" isn't the first thing I think of when I see Smeargle. Not complaining, just surprised.

Hi! Just wanted to make another post mentioning that the Year of the Dog Voucher that is currently in the Event Shop is not a new voucher. It was added to the shop because it fit the theme and for any item collectors that may be missing it!
