Ooh, new community thread. Hello everyone! I keep forgetting to enable "email notification of replies" on these so I tend to have no idea whether or not people are talking to me. My bad, lol
Release+ will be sorely missed, but at least I freed up a slot on my Shine Recorder; and got an Insect Shard, to boot. Also WHOA I just hatched this. https://gpx.plus/info/vjeJz Those IVs aren't bad! I hope the raffle event's treated everyone well. -------------------- |

Does anyone else never know what to vote for for the shiny hunt? I've ended up just closing my eyes and scrolling through to pick a random 'mon.

Oh! Nice to see a fresh start on the community thread.
Lets see, yes it can be difficult to choose a shiny for the hunt because there are so many that I still need I'm not sure which one would be good for the site-wide shiny hunt. I just random pick one on my future shiny hunts list. I'm creating some fresh goals for myself to reach on GPXplus when it comes to interactions, hatching eggs, and activity score. Though I don't know if I'm going to break any of my records, I may try though. -------------------- GPXplus Groups Joined (click to show ) Contest Ribbons and Credits (click to show ) |

Yeah, I really don't know either. Last SWSH I picked Applin (+2 filler slots w/ Basculin) because I knew I wanted all 3 of them and to potentially block a slot from Rookidee, which I was hunting at the time. There's also a point to voting for pokemon that give you shards. But given that usually Galar pokemon make it in (none of which offer me much in terms of shards) I'll vote for Blipbug/Pincurchin. If anybody wants me to vote for anything in particular, feel free to ask.
I suspect Rookidee/Wooloo/Blipbug will win in a landslide, though. Prove me wrong! This post has been edited by Professor Eucalyptus: Jan 1 2021, 06:11 PM -------------------- |

Oh wow, had no idea the last thread was that old. Nice to see a new one! Hoping to spend more time on the site than I have in the last few years.
RE: SWSH - I ended up choosing Wooloo, Pinchin, and Rookidee. I should really get started on the video game but I've been mostly playing Animal Crossing NH. -------------------- |

When I don't have a good idea of what I want to vote for for SWSHs, I usually look back at the vote totals for the most recent one and vote for whatever the next-most popular ones were that I don't have yet.
I haven't had to do that for the past few months, though, with the new Galar Pokemon being rolled out. I have been expecting Wooloo to be one of the ones picked this month, and I don't typically like the stress of a SWSH with three shinies I need, so I went ahead and hunted Wooloo in December to get it out of the way. With that in mind, I voted for Blipbug/Yamper/Wooloo but would also be happy with either Pincurchin or Duraludon in place of Yamper, as those are the remaining Galar 'mons I still need. -------------------- |

Does anyone else never know what to vote for for the shiny hunt? I've ended up just closing my eyes and scrolling through to pick a random 'mon. ooh, nice ivs on it Oh, definitely. And ack, my email didn't notify me that people were replying to me. I ended up voting for Corphish, Venonat, and Blipbug this month. Yes, two of three happen to be some of my favorite Pokémon, and I don't need Shards for any of them until I decide to do DotW for the first [and probably only] time, but I figure at least Blipbug has a good chance of winning. Maybe I'll level up the Regi a bit before sticking it in the Battle Tower, not sure really. I need a good Steel-Type, and I can't find a decent Ferrothorn. Also...the Hoopa are stalking me again, I've gotten 2 within 2 days. Someone send help, lol This post has been edited by AregularFrankiefan: Jan 2 2021, 09:22 PM -------------------- |

Got to enjoy some birthday ice cream and snacks the other day, so hey, if anything else, something good has happened this month despite all the chaos. Now, I'm just trying to find me a shiny legendary. It'll pop up eventually, I'm hoping.

I don't have a Switch and will not be getting one because I'm not made out of money, but I feel like this year's Pokémon Day reveal was a step in the right direction in terms of the games not becoming more and more stale. Might watch some YouTube playthroughs when the time comes; Pokémon Legends: Arceus is especially an interesting concept, and I hope it won't suffer from being visually boring like a fair amount of open-world games are.
In other news it's been quite literally a month and a half since I last ordered [through a family member, still no bank account legally] something from the U.S. Pokémon Center website. It never showed up, and yet the person kind enough to order for me got charged for the items 3 times...Ack. I've paid him back, but it still sucks. -------------------- |

Pokemon Legends : Arceus is presented as a "bold new direction" but I fear it will be in the wrong way. The Diamond/Pearl game is a remaster and I'm still playing Platinum from time to time so I don't really have an interest in it. I think it's more for players who came to the licence after. It reminds me the Zelda: Link's Awakening remaster, though the latter was adding more graphically to the old version as it was a monochrome low resolution game.
Otherwise, I finally finished my blipbug shiny hunt started during last SWSH. And I've use my Heart Mail on a legend voucher and a Diancie. |

Hey all! good luck in advance with the SWSH!
I recently came back to the site after not being active for like 3 years, and I've been really enjoying it! I joined the Discord too, and am planning on actively participating in all the events, something I didn't do when I first played actively. See you guys around! On the topic of Arceus: Legends, like jeanmichel said, it could go both ways, amazing or a major let-down. Hope it's amazing of course, that way GameFreak might step out of it's comfort zone more easily. But we'll see when more information is availble. Personally I'm incredibly disappointed in the way the DP remakes look, and the only reason I would be getting them is a fun shiny-hunting method. Something like a new and improved PokéRadar. I have nothing against chibi artstyle in-game, but the overworld in the DP remakes looks worse than the originals (imo). |

Hi, I hope a quick release-advertising post is allowed.
I find myself in need of freeing up more space in my PC, so I'm planning to release 21 shinies that are duplicates of ones I already have. Most are relatively uninteresting (past SWSHs that most regulars already have, wrong-gender breedjects for gender-specific evolutions, etc) but I hope at least some of them will find new owners who want them. You can see these shinies in my SH-RELEASE box at the top of my "Pokemon" tab on my profile. I'll aim to click the release button at roughly 3pm US Eastern time (7pm UTC) on Thursday. I hope this gives people plenty of time to see this post and decide whether they want to stalk the shelter for any of the shinies. Best wishes! UPDATE 3/25: The shinies have been released! Good luck, shiny hunters! This post has been edited by pumpkinking0192: Mar 25 2021, 02:17 PM -------------------- |

QUOTE Tomorrow (on the 4th of April/Easter), there will be a Painted Torchic distribution! There's extra chance of finding a shiny one, so be sure to keep a party space open at 4 PM server time! Good luck! Happy Easter and thank you, Zerxer and GPX! I didn't even realize this was a thing but had a free party spot. I appreciate the Easter egg (literally) LOL -------------------- |

Hey!
There seems to lots of people on the site nowadays, which is cool, but since the down time 3 days ago, it's not responding well. Navigating through the site is annoying and mass clicking is awful. Does anybody know if something's happening? Good luck on your scavenger hunt! Edit: And just now it's responsive again after 3 days. I hope it was just a problem with my ISP not going through the proper route or something. Edit 2: and now 3 days later it's started slogging again, to a point it takes seconds to do anything. All we know is that we got migrated to a different server node on April 15th (During the time of the Baby event) Nick restarted the server a few days ago, which helped to improve speed from where it was at initially. It didn't completely fix the lag and he has acknowledged that it exits. He said he'll look into it further once he gets the opportunity to. Hang tight! -------------------- |

Good morning Everybody!
First off, happy belated Canada Day to our friends from "up north". I hope that your day and weather and GPX play were all positive and fun. Next, best of holiday luck to my US compatriots that are melting in the extended heat wave(s). Where I'm at, in the (AZ) Valley, we haven't seen rain since... um... I don't remember. Even still, there are going to be fireworks around various cities. Curious. Real curious. But if we're out camping... no fires and no fireworks. So wherever you are celebrating I hope you will be safe (from fires, monsoon floods, and illegal fireworks). I'm trying to wrap my head around work today (not going so great, LOL) and looking very much forward to a 3 day weekend (we're taking Monday off). I've been in and out of GPX for a number of days now and, sadly, didn't get a perfect score from the Scavenger Hunt. Was very upset when I woke up one day and realized that I (stupidly) didn't finish a basic level 17 requirement. Ugh! I was so mad at myself for that oversight! But running into the shiny helped to lessen that sting. Not sure how this month's SWSHy will turn out but here is wishing that you hatch at least one. Not sure what exploration I'll be delving into, but I have been having that calling again so... we'll see what I can carve out time for. My daughter also got me playing Y again so I've been enjoying that. I also owe my soul (or just about) to our local GameStop. Oh. My. Pokémon!! I ordered 2 doubles of the re-releases coming out as well as 3 of the Arceus games. I really hope my girls help contribute to that fund! Mercifully, the store clerk told me we have 100,000 Game Stop points. *faints* That will absolutely lessen that invoice sting! LOL In other news.... I took advantage of the Prime Day sales and got my very first iRobot vacuum. Best. Investment. EVAH!!! And using my daughter's account (don't worry, my money), I took advantage of the "if you had an Amazon credit card, you could take $150 off your purchase. So... we got her her first credit card ever and my Prime Day sale that saved me about $400, lessened that price tag by another $150. An i6+ for just over $300. Yeah. I'm happy. Anybody else take advantage of the Prime Day sales? Did you go electronics, if you did, or something else you really needed? Also, does anyone else buy more than just 1 of the Pokémon games or am I the only fool? LOL -------------------- |

Good luck with your shiny hunts, guys=) Thanks for the well wishes, Darky. After putting my Pokémon pair in the Daycare... I'm thinking I'll need it. Apparently, same species octopi don't like each other very much. Here's hoping my Destiny Knot will tie them closer together than "The two Pokémon are not interested in each other in the slightest." *eek*! Also, note to self, before filling your party... double check the Shiny announcement. I was thinking it would start tomorrow so... totally blew the first round not realizing I could do it now. Doh! *EDIT* It seems I am setting my SWSH up for failure. Does anyone else limit themselves to how they come by their eggs? I'm pulling only from my daycare couple (now that I figured out the original problem was a sibling issue....) and from the lab. I have to admit - it would be cool to finish a SWSH from the lab. I know it happens... but how frequently I wonder? *EDIT 2* As it turns out, my SWSHy wasn't set up for failure like I thought. It wasn't easy... and I did have to grab some Shelter eggs during the draught... but the Lab paid off finally. I'll probably vie for another shiny - just to see if I can score one more - but I'm fairly certain kudos will go to a "rival" group - the Azurites. It's not always about how many play. It's all about the luck of the grab. *EDIT 3* And much to my amazement... my daycare couple created a shiny Nikkit that I actually grabbed. Dang! Sa-weet! For kicks n giggles I'm vying for the final Pokémon, Lileep. But with so few days left I'm not feeling overwhelmingly positive. Who knows, though, the race to the finish line keeps changing affinity hands so we'll see how things play out these next 2.5 days. Good luck to all who are still trying and hatching. I only always hope we all walk away with one shiny from the SWSHys. This post has been edited by Mamanator: Jul 29 2021, 12:11 PM -------------------- |

During last SWSH I started a Foongus hunt, thinking "if I finish it before SWSH's end, I'll do an Arceus explo!".
We're now deep in this month's scavenger hunt, Halloween even is approaching, I still haven't done this month's special explorations and my Foongus still aren't shiny! |

I wonder, will we ever get a normal arceus egg? Or something like that. 1000 prize points for an arceus egg of any type? Too much I suppose. And I know that we have an exploration, but we also have real livesX) I am not complaining, just wondering=)

Happy December everybody!
Just wanted to pop by and wish those of the Jewish decent a very Happy Hanukkah! As un-ready as I am for Christmas, I'm twice as un-ready for Hanukkah I also want to say... wow! What luck I had today! I'm grateful to have had the time to (so far) complete both Scavenger Hunt tasks (being only 2 thus far I really shouldn't be shouting from the roof tops... but... ) Also, me oh my oh! Two shinies from the Hanukkah event. Thank you, GPX and my fellow breeders! I always wanted a shiny Ponyta. Can't hardly believe it has come to pass! That's a very beautiful shiny, I got to say! And my second, Phantump, was very surprising. I had convinced myself that you can't hatch a shiny if a shiny is already in your party. Well. That theory is blown to the December winds. I'm hoping to continue with the Scavenger Hunt and... who knows... maybe completing it for the first time in a dog's age. I hope everybody is having luck and fun with the start of the December events too. Good luck, Everybody! -------------------- |

Just wondering, where do we go to spend our event tokens again? I recall it being in inventory, but I can't seem to find it. It used to be in the inventory when each event had its own separate currency. But now that all events run off the Coins stat, it's the Event Shop tab of the Shop page. -------------------- |

Oof.
Today's feeling like another slow day on the site for me. @@ Lab egg hunting hasn't been going too well... I don't know if I'm just being really bad or what 😅, but I've been having trouble finding even some Common-rarity eggs despite searching while eggs are being generated. Shelter egg hunting... also bad, but makes sense. I've only really been keeping an eye out for some Novelty mons that I lack egg entries for. I don't know breeding rates, but between that, limited users breeding, I assume limited novelty success which one would obviously hold on to, online times, etc.. I don't expect much. But it's sooo exciting when something new does pop up! 8D It's neat being able to look at statistics and see if anyone is breeding, hunting, etc mons, by the way. o: My hatches haven't been going well... IVs are generally underwhelming. Nature can be forced, but it's costly and I keep finding mons to not be worth it, so I'm mostly working with RNG now. :p and I cannot seem to snag this last Iron Shard that I'm so adamant about getting before any other Plate can complete. ;; Getting back into Battle Subway has been fun xD I'd been eager to for a time, but was trying to wait to rebuild my team. Since I'm having trouble with hatches, though, I decided to just dive in a few days ago. Oooh! I seem to get to about the same streak number then run into some hitch. It's driving me mad since I wonder if a more optimized team like I'm trying for might help me press on. >< I'd like to hit at least another 75 streak for an additional Expansion. But past that, I really want to hit 100 just to. Reached 82 way back when, and continued to dabble a bit before rl stuff stepped in a bit much, causing me to drop off and later be gone entirely for a long time. Gotta keep from being consumed, but I tend to enjoy myself and find this a nice little getaway of sorts. ^^ -------------------- |

Good morning and Happy New Year (2022) Everybody!
It's been another crazy end of year here at the Lazy T, but with the help of some constant GPXers, I was able to finish the exploration with time to spare (barely). So thank you, my fellow players. I literally couldn't have done it without you! If I were a person that made new year's resolutions I would resolve to returning to the GPX explorations. To test this resolution I opted to go with what might be a truly difficult explore... Needing a Friend. And I know that, I'm going to need a lot of friends when it comes time to feed those berries. So here is to all of us needing friends and help to finish those explores and raise up those Pokémon. -------------------- |

Has there been a change in Heart Sweets? I have plenty in my Inventory, but they don't seem to show up on my Daycare page, so that I can grab the two eggs that I want.

Did I miss an update because I was unaware of any distributions today |

I had a full 6 egg Party, but got an Event Egg as well. And I don't see a mention of a distribution anywhere on the other page, so it looks like it was a surprise? -------------------- |

That was very unexpected and appreciated. -------------------- |

Good evening fellow GPXers. I have a question for those who are playing Violet and/or Scarlet.
I don't want to divulge much so I'll just pose it this way. If you battled the first Titan, but didn't capture it (because you [me] were dense and didn't realize you would be able to), and you found out through semi accurate web resources that you'll only have 1 chance to catch (them all...) would you restart you game and try again or just deal with the fact that you might not get that Titan at all? I'm trying to decide if it is worth restarting my game and going through it again. My Pokémon are only leveled to 25 (majority case) but I do have a few other gifted ones. I suppose I can try to keep them safe in the Pokémon bank if that is set up for Violet and Scarlet now.... Thoughts? -------------------- |

Because the very first time you fight it - you cannot capture it. It must be defeated, but after you do so if you go back to that area you will see another one you'll be able to interact with and are able to catch that one (one time only like you said). If you did interact with that one and defeated it - I wouldn't restart my game tbh. You could always just continue to beat the game, then make a new switch profile and recatch the first titan, send it to home, and then back to your main game. Each Switch profile has their own save game data but all connect to Home in the same way. -------------------- |

After it ran off, I got dejected thinking I messed up. I checked online, and the first resource that I mentioned in my post didn't say or indicate that I'd get a second fight-chance to capture it. It only said we'd only get 1 chance to capture the titans. So I thought that battle, the story line was, was that one and only battle. My daughter's friends confirmed that titans can't breed and I was uncertain how to proceed, but they felt sure I'd get another chance. So I dug deeper on the 'net and, sure enough, I found another article saying exactly what you just said. So... while I wasn't intending to return so quickly, as I was backtracking and finding my way in the wide open spaces, I found the air titan again. While the type matches online have been as useless as my first search about the titan, I did manage to put some level 24 electrics in my party and I battled the air titan again. This time... I was able to catch it. Phew! Thanks again for responding though. I'm so glad to have this resource to ask these random game questions. *blush* I do wish my air titan had been male. I think Tux (short for Tuxedo) would've been better than Snowy. But for now, that's what I've got. So I'm happy. Thanks! -------------------- |

It's easy to tell if they're gonna be a Titan because you have to press "a" and even walking into them doesn't trigger the battle. You can set it's Titan Mark once you catch it and place it into your party from the summary screen! Also the nature and gender are all pre-set, meaning it's the same for everyone! -------------------- |

Happy Saturday to my fellow GPXers. I'm here with another question about Scarlet and Violet, if that's ok.
Apparently, I have 3 badges (guess that means I defeated 3 gyms). So my Pokemon should be nice and "obey" me up to level 30. However! I have a Rufflet (caught at level 26) and he's currently a level 28. He just. Won't. Battle. Not if I encounter a wild Pokemon to battle... not if I send him out ahead to battle. What's his problem? Does anybody have any insight what is going on? In my party, Rufflet certainly isn't the lowest level nor was he the highest. I am working on returning some gym guy's wallet and trying to figure out how to beat either Orthoworm or the Earth Quaking Titan, but so far no luck in getting close enough to do that which is why I was leveling up to 30. As an FYI... Rufflet is level 28 and, being in the party, just recently became level 29. -------------------- |

You get badges from Team Star bases and Titan fights too and those don't effect obedience level, only the Gym badges do. One Gym Badge - Lv. 25 or lower will obey. Two Gym Badges - Lv. 30 or lower will obey. Three Gym Badges - Lv. 35 or lower will obey. At this point you're needing about 3 badges handed from gym leaders for him to obey you -------------------- |

It's just weird how some of the Pokemon are obeying me and that one wasn't. My current plan is to get through the Asad Desert sands to where I can deliver the wallet, collect that gym badge, then I guess go for the Quaking Earth Titan since that one seems closer (though out of order from what the internet is saying is the right sequence). Times like these I really miss those "pay too much for" guides. LOL Thank you, Level-X! -------------------- |

Hey, why is there suddenly no Poliwag in the shelter during a SWSH, with 103 people breeding?
That's the first time I've seen something like that happen. Where are they all gone? |

There is a super close battle happening, it may have something to do with it. *sad sigh* Nothing wrong with GPX, but today I confirmed that the statement I read (was it out here? was it on FaceBook? was it through watching a YouTube video?) that when playing Pokemon Violet, when you send out your Pokemon to do random battles, we don't have to worry. It would never ever never battle a shiny Pokemon. *angry eyes*
Lies. Total lies. I "found" 4 shinies in my game (the most I ever came across), but my Profile said I battled 9. That makes me angry. Gah!!!! So I just had to vent because I wasn't sure where else to vent so thank you for letting me. -------------------- |

The name "Shinies Battled" is a total misnomer and it does not actually count the number of shinies battled. Rather, it tracks the number of shiny dex entries you have. So by evolving your 4 shinies, you have produced 9 shiny dex entries. That's all the number means. -------------------- |

So. Today I was working the SWSH. Had three eggs in my Party. They were ready to hatch. All three were Lab eggs. TWO of them hatched shiny. Laid a minute apart. Both have IVs of 107.
How often does that happen? By which I mean multiple shiny pokemon hatching at the same time with the same IVs -------------------- |

Thank you, pumpkinking0192 for your response to my post. How certain are you of that? Because I'm wondering... my "Shiny's Battled" number has now increased to 16. It makes me wonder... I don't think I have battled any shiny's and either lost them or "killed" them... I think that is the number of times I have actually battled with my "in stock" shiny Pokemon. Could that be a more accurate explanation?
I noticed that it increased after I battled with a shiny I already had (that number has also increased thanks to two YouTube personalities that provide them). So I'm thinking that is how that number increases. I'm still not certain if my Pokemon that walks out in front of me that I send into battles can, or does, battle unknown shinys. I hope not. I'm still not sure, which is why my progress is still pretty slow as I hesitate sending any Pokemon out to do battle in advance. On another unrelated S/V note, but totally relative to GPX... today's egg giveaway... sweet! Thank you for that re-release! Did I just happen to get lucky with a shiny... or were they all shiny? I'm floored if it was the former and not the latter, but I'm also OK if everyone got a shiny one, too. That shiny novelty is really cool! looking, in my opinion. Thank you so for it, GPX! And.... happy birthday, Dark Krytie! I hope you are having a good time! Oh! And, welcome back, barryhill. Here's hoping you can settle right back into the rhythm that is GPX. And, sweet rewards, RicFule! Congrats on the double shiny's. I've heard of that happening (very, very rare I think) where you claim a couple or so eggs from the Lab and they both hatch shiny. Very sweet how that works out and glad it happened to you. -------------------- |

So i'm getting ready to re-do Dark Saturday. I have to battle: kabutops, heatran, gliscor, swampert, rampardos, and metagross. What are the best pokemon to use against these? Any help is appreciated!

Hello fellow Pokémon lovers and GPXers. I've got a question.
About Pokémon Scarlet (I play Violet). Is the new DLC, the new territory, ready and open and available? I see people with the masks on when I do Tera Raids (I just learned how to do those recently) but I don't see where or how to do that. When the DLC content first became available for pre purchase, I did that. And now I have the uniform as proof, but I don't see any mask nor am I aware of where to go to access this new exciting "world"/content. Have I missed something? Or, are the folks I use on YouTube (Blaines and BrassCoin) have early access because of what they do for Nintendo? In my own game, I'm still trying to level up to beat the Quaking Earth Titan. I just got my next badge that says Pokémon to level 40 (I think it was) will obey me. But, for this titan, I need to be 44 to 45. Anyone out there able to assist me in what I do next? It's getting a bit confusing. Should I try the titan? Should I raid another base camp (I just did the poison one), should I go to another gym before facing the Quaking Titan? Oh, and I did notice, though I can't tell you where on the map it is (save to say it is past the titan I'm aiming for) a question mark on my map. Is that where the new DLC place is? Or, since my best Pokémon are only levels 40 to 44, I should steer clear of that question mark? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm having fun with the tera raids, but since I have no mystica I can't vie for the shiny Applin and it seems I can't connect with Blaines' auto-bot raids for anything. *sad sigh* Thanks, Everyone. -------------------- |

Yes, the content released on September 13th, as long as you have the DLC for Scarlet (Keep in mind there is a DLC for Violet and a DLC for Scarlet - if you bought the DLC for Violet but own Scarlet you'd be unable to access the DLC and Nintendo apparently does not offer refunds for this.) But assuming you have the correct DLC and your game is fully updated you should be able to access Part 1 of the DLC: The Teal Mask regardless of how far along in the story you are. Part 2 of the DLC: The Indigo Disk releases at a later date and you need to complete the base game story before being able to access it. Once you turn on the game with a fully updated game and correct DLC you should've gotten a phone call telling you to report to the Trainer School, once you do you'll be able to access Kitakami, the new DLC Region. -------------------- |

Hey guys. Biannual check-in, hope you're all doing well.
Question: how does the site still stay up? Sorry if that seems blunt, just legitimately curious. I think I've bought credits once or twice, but I can't imagine it was too significant to contribute to server uptime. Every time I remember to come back and play for a week or two it honestly feels like I should attempt to visit the site and see the domain for sale. Not to say I want it to go down, I have a lot of memories on this site and would love to see it up ss long as possible as a bit of a shrine to an era gone past, it's just rather surprising a niche site where the forum culture of adoptables has largely died out thanks to the rise of social media is still going with regular updates. Is upkeep expensive? This post has been edited by Gigadweeb: Sep 22 2023, 05:26 AM -------------------- |

People go pretty hard on pluses when there's an event active.
